With the recent rash of expansions and the continued escalation of international pressure, the Grand Chairman, the Minister Of War, and the Minister Of Internal Affairs had decided unanimously to accelerate their plans of integration in the local area before the areas were wrested away by other international powers, or before international tension rose to such a point that any expansion would be met with war. Many of the territories around Dunwik had been sucked into her economic orbit and were slowly, if unwillingly, beginning to integrate anyway, but the acceleration of such efforts was a difficult backroom dance, involving bribes to high officials, implied threats if compulsion did not work, and more than one radical oppositionist was either found dead of suicide or strangely vanished. Fingers were of course pointed at a myriad of different enemies, including the Dunwikki, but on the whole, the framework for annexation had been laid decades earlier by business deals and other men, and Grand Chairman Nelson was simply pushing things ahead of schedule.
The Dunwikki seized most of the islands around them, and pushed their land territory to Leng's Plateau in the north, where the terrain grows too high for jungles and the population thins out - leaving their infrastructure for annexation not entirely ready for an accelerated integration.
Territories seized are these islands, and a small chunk of land to the north demarcated by the black lines. Territorial claims are in dark grey. This is not in Dunwikki jurisdiction but seizure of these lands will seriously harm relations with them and may lead to war.
