Workers milled about around the clock, repairing old furniture, restocking the cellars as best they could, and preparing the ancient Castle-turned-Palace for the up and coming ceremony. The Crown Prince Guilherme's stay with his family in Tholand was over, and to better acclimate him to life in the Isles and endear him to the Populace, the Empress had decided to bestow upon him the Titular Princedom of Andalusia. As such, the Almodovar Castle in Castelo Real was to become his new official residence, even if, for the time being, he would still live with his parents in the Capital. "Your Majesty," Said Codsworth, greeting the Empress at the Castle's Gate. "Preparations are going underway and the Castle will be ready to receive guests in about a week. Where is the Prince? One would assume his Majesty would be concerned about guaranteeing his new abode is up to his requirements." "He'll be arriving shortly, he and Hengist insisted on accompanying the Lifeguard Parade." "Ah, is the Prince taking well to the Isles?" Isabel smiled. "He is. It is home after all. No matter for how long he has been away. Either way, could you please bring in the invitations? I will need to sign those." The Lifeguard Paraded across the streets of Castelo Real, introducing the locals to their soon to be Prince. The whole island seemed to have gathered in the city awaiting the arrival of the Royals. They called and shouted praises through the music of the parade, but the Bull-drawn carriage was empty. Hengist and Guilherme marched with the troops, directing them towards the Castle.

Post by Emperor Florin von Marcum on Jan 11, 2023 5:03:01 GMT
Florin ran a hand through his hair, fingers working through the tangles that gathered under his hood after another visit to Latium. The Auxiliary Legions had been gathering near the city in preparation for the advance into Solicia. The Latini Palace was his birthplace, but it always felt more hollow than the Argent, despite how much work went into her construction. A pile of missives, forms, and proposals sat on a table in his room. The council sent them for “review”, but he didn’t have much in the way of understanding them. So he simply went through signing his name. Until he spotted an odd letter, embossed with the Magdali Seal.
Florin poured over the brief letter, sighing at the contents. Guilherme and he had just reconciled a year prior. It wouldn’t do good to refuse an invitation for his princely coronation (even though Florin had offered no invitation for his own imperial one). Why did they even need to make a Royal Prince official? Attached to the letter was a note, asking a far more unusual request. Had this come from the Magdali or the council? Why was Livi invited? Nevertheless, he ascended to her company. It had been a while since the two had interacted. So he pulled out his stationary and composed his response.
To: Her Most Faithful Majesty Isabel Afonses de Roque From: His Eternal Majesty, Emperor Florin Aurelius von Marcum
Your Majesty, On behalf of the Senate and People of Divinium, I will gladly attend the upcoming coronation of the Heir Apparent of Magdalenum in his role as Prince of Andalusia. I will, with your hospitality, be accompanied by my cousin, Ducissa Lavinia Julia Harnau, current co-regent of Rigel.
May God bless and keep you.
Salve, F.A von Marcum

Minister Jones looked at the missive. There were a lot of coronations lately, weren't there? First Florin, then this man... boy... Puye nations. He sighed and steepled his fingers, knowing the Grand Chairman's most likely response. He couldn't attend - leaving his nation at war was far too cowardly a move for Arthur. But... Arthur needed a hand present there. A proper Dunwikki man to attend, shake hands, smile for the cameras and possibly grease a few palms for later.
Jones looked at his office. It was spacious, but it still felt like it choked him at times. Perhaps being a Minister wasn't what he'd hoped for. Perhaps going on ""holiday"" in Magdalenum wouldn't be a bad way to dodge Arthur's raving, furious tirades. So he picked up his pen and signed.
To: Her Most Faithful Majesty Isabel Afonses de Roque
The words didn't properly translate well from Dunwikki. Jones wrote them instead in Magdalese. "Her Most Persistent Boss Isabel Afonses de Roque" wouldn't work.
From: Mr. J. Jones, Dunwikki Minister of Foreign Affairs. On behalf of the peoples and industries of Dunwik, and the spirit of brotherhood and progress so upheld by our country, it would be my great honor to attend. Sadly, the Grand Chairman himself cannot come to witness the coronation - he must tend to his people and his nation's needs in these dark times. Let this be the end of the night, and let your coronation be the start of a shining new era of peace, prosperity, and friendship between our nations.
Jones sighed. Arthur would likely blow a gasket at the amounts of religious overtones these coronations tended to have, and he didn't want to see a brawl between the mad doctor and the Divinian boy-god-king. Well... Jones looked up. Maybe he did want to see it, but he didn't want to see the consequences of that. Jones picked the pen up again
May your reign be long and profitable. Warmly, J. Jones.

Your Majesty,
I thank you graciously for your invitation,
I accept your invitation to the Coronation as Lord Mayor and as a Friend of the Magdali people. It only feels like a few years have passed since I attended your Marriage, and then your visit to the Association proper, as such it seems only fitting to repay your kindness by once more visiting. The Alliance Court wishes good health to you for the years to come.
Kind Regards,
Garend Marston, Lord Mayor of the City of Sheen.

From: His Excellency President Synli Nath To: Her Most Faithful Majesty Isabel Afonses de Roque
Your Majesty,
I pray that this correspondence finds you in good health and joyous spirits. By the grace of your hospitality and on behalf of the people of the Democratic Republic of Bukkora, it is with great delight and honor that I confirm my attendance as well as that of Prime Minister Koigym Kuan at the coronation of your heir apparent. I look forward to cultivating long and fruitful relations between our two nations.
Yours humbly in friendship and warmth,
President Synli Nath Pyalchero, D.R. Bukkora
President Nath had thought carefully about the nature of his own response, perhaps to the point of painstakingness, as the perfectly penned invitation sat neatly on the desk of his study. It hadn’t taken him terribly long, however, to reach the conclusion that brief but reverent was best.
Nath had reservations — not on his own, but on behalf of his people, whose general attitudes toward monarchy were lukewarm at best and poor on a general scale. But a return to the world stage was part of his campaign from the beginning; plus, it was paramount for him, after years of isolationism under the previous administration, that he prove to the world that Bukkora was not the backward wasteland it seemed. And besides all that, it was important for him to establish his country's very presence on the international stage; if all of the movers and shakers of the world will be in attendance, Nath wanted to make sure that there were Bukkorans right there among them, bringing along their world-famous warmth and extending many a handshake in friendship.
For now, though, it was time to pay a visit to the sudatory. Cleansing himself of impurities in time for the preparations for his visit was crucial to keeping his heart and mind clean for the visit.
