It was a relatively quiet night at Kragos harbour, the war with the Tholish had reduced trade traffic to the city, but then the rebellion had set the already lesser flow of ships to a trickle. Even still, when three merchantmen had sailed smoothly into the harbour that afternoon there was little interest. Granted the ships were of a foreign design not usually seen, but that drew little more than a shrug from the few people who saw them entering the harbour. The ships were all quickly docked at a quiet end of the harbour near some storehouses which had been empty for some time. As soon as each ship docked it was swarmed with activity. Men and machines moved as if the demons of hell were at their heels, transferring cargo into the now suspiciously heavily guarded warehouses. If any civilians had been there to notice, especially after the third ship docked, they might have seen that of all the foreigners to get off the ships, only a very small fraction were women, that every single one was young, and that while they were all in civilian clothes, they all carried an identical rucksack.
What many in the city didn't know was that in the now unloaded boxes was the first shipment of Narundan military equipment destined for the Laurian rebel army, and that the people on those ships were all soldiers, sent to teach tactics, medicine, discipline, and leadership. In those three ships was the core of an army, and more ships were slowly making their way to Kragos.
Only time would tell if the efforts of these foreigners would be successful.

With the Rashadian exit from the war and the majority of the Laurian territories being given to the Tholes, the logic driving the Narunan intervention in the region evaporated. As quickly as they had arrived, the Narundan equipment and personnel were re-loaded their ships and sailed for home.
However, a small few stayed behind. A cadre of men from the Office of Military Intelligence were ordered to remain in the city to organise a spy ring. While the hope for a Laurian Republic seemed dashed, these men had been ordered to keep the idea alive. However disaster struck, a contact betrayed them to the Tholish authorities and all six men were captured. Two broke after interrogation and confessed what limited details of their mission they knew; that they had been left behind to continue maintaining the contacts they had developed during the rebellion. It is not known exactly what happened to the men after this but it is assumed they were executed.
In the aftermath Tholish authorities cracked down on Laurian republicans and independence supporters which will make agitating for a Laurian state incredibly difficult in the near future.
