The First (and Hopefully Last) Stop: The Kaskadian Republic
Consul Haris Grant looked out over the city of Skyes Bay from aboard the Admiral Class light cruiser, Admiral Yeager. It wasn't much of a city he thought, looking far less built up and more built across than the typical Narundan city, with the buildings, as far as he could see, only being a few stories tall at most. His ship was still some says away from the shore, staying away from the Kaskader coast to avoid any stray artillery shells, however improbable such an attack may be. While his arrival had been telegraphed ahead to the Republic government, it seemed that the sight of a military vessel had piqued the interest of the locals and several civilian ships had begun to follow the Yeager as she made her way towards the port. The ships kept an appropriate distance but the crew still seemed a bit jumpy. With the civil war going on who knew what could happen, and a potential boarding action or manned torpedo or 'boat filled with explosives' attack could happen at any moment. As the ship approached closer to the harbour, Grant left his spot on the main superstructure and walked down to the port side of the ship to await disembarking.
