To make sure that the Association is ready for war, it was decided that an army of 150,000 men would be needed to wage such a war of defence of the homeland and the many colonial holdings, especially the Canal Zone. Posters and Radio announcements were made to encourage signing up, which was done with great haste by all those who were eligible.
