For the third time since the UDI was declared, the Kaskader people must come together and decide on a new leader for our people. Governor-General Charles Wallace Fairbairn is running for his third consecutive term, but he is far from unopposed. The four major parties have all decided on their representatives for this year’s election.
Marcus A. Haliday is running as the representative of the Progressive Party, hoping to root out the crime and corruption in our cities, and "preserve the natural beauty of our lands". Many believe his idea of Kaskadien involvment internationally, and his desires for a "Great Kaskadien Fleet" are too far-fetched to be reasonable.
Joseph Rivers hopes to bring his isolationist Kaskadien First Party to Sykes Bay and keep the Kaskadien people out of the schemes and politics of kings.
Jonathan von Sykes wishes to bring the Union back into prominence alongside his monarchist Crown Restoration Council, hoping to work with the power his father had established both domestically, and with the other kingdoms of the Ringsea.
Governor-General Fairbairn hopes to see his Liberation Committee maintain the capital and regain a majority in the Senate and House. He does not plan on swaying from his longstanding policies in this election.
Many expect someone new to take the reins, as the Progressives under Haliday currently maintain a strong 38% of the polls, followed by Rivers’ 24%.
The Progressives have accused the Monarchists of utilizing threats of force and corruption of local officials to give them an advantage, although these allegations have so far remained unsubstantiated.
