An act has been passed in the Associated cities nation wide to standardise railways across the country.
The act states thus:
All railways for travelling across the country must be built with two rails spaced 5 feet and 3 inches (1.6m) apart. All trains must have at least 2 carriages if labelled for passenger use along a route with 3 or more stations. All metropolitan railways must be built with a tunnel width of 12 feet or more. All trains must be capable of fitting in stations and therefore must not exceed the bounds of 10 feet 4 inches high by 9 feet wide. Length of carriages will not be regulated but a recommended length of 60 feet maximum per carriage will be provided. All stations must be built to accept a locomotive pulling 6 carriages at minimum. Recommended to be built to accept a locomotive pulling 12 carriages. All Stations must have their platforms within 1 foot of the height of the carriage floors and preferably within 6 inches for easy boarding. All Stations must be manned so that people who are in need of crossing the track can be allowed to in good time.
The only exception is the International Railway line which joins Sheen to the Imperium Divinium, which is held to the Standards and Laws of the Imperium Divinium.
