Dear neighbour,
We would like to discuss the possibility of uniting our two houses in matrimony, so as to secure a pact of non-aggression and establish our friendship to the world in the unshakeable terms of blood. Naturally, we are willing to offer a bride-price of nine-thousand Thaler, a light cruiser, and a small estate for the bride herself. The bride's well being would be assured, as she would be given her own retinue as a member of the Hauhkunoleiks Gards and would be under the full protection of law and afforded the rights of a member of my family.
Furthermore, we would like to establish through this a single market between our realms, so as to allow for goods and businesses to cross more easily and readily and bring our economies together. Naturally, controls will be allowed, so that things that might be legal in one realm but illegal in the other are not allowed to cross, but we would see to it that both of our realms prospered from a joining of our industries. Export and import tariffs would be waived, but other taxes native to each realm would naturally still be allowed to apply, with licencing and permits being as if it was done for a native. With an exception being added so that trade can not be conducted through one another to reach markets which one partner has free access to which the other does not.
We would also like to clarify that under this treaty, allowing foreign powers to base themselves in either of our territories or act through either of us against the other would constitute a violation of the treaty. Moreover, the treaty may be cancelled upon the death of either realm's ruler or if no blood ties exist, pursuant that both realms do not agree to a reaffirmation of the treaty. Cancellation of the treaty is to be preceded by a full thirty day warning period in which it shall still hold.
Should all of this be agreeable, I would like greatly to meet with bride before I take her to wife, as it is imperative that all things be seen to as in order.
I look forward to your reply with eagerness.
Yours,
