Imperial Rodina
Rodina means Motherland, and have for over 400 hundred years been ruled by the Imperial family. Rodina was always located far from other great powers and have evolved at its on speed. Its strengths has always been in its population and size, but for the last few generations did the Empire realised they were falling behind the other great powers and started great reforms that would in the end lead to the collapse of the Empire.
There was no longer denying, the conflict and revolution in Rodina is now known as the Rodinan Civil War. The seeds for this was with reforms of the Empire that failed, and too much of the money needed for schools and other healthcare programs was pushed into a new and modern navy. A navy that was to become the pride of the nation and dominate the sea. The naval focus proved to be the downfall.
The fire that had sparked with the defeat of The Imperial Navy in Divinan waters had light the fire that had put the entire state up in flames.
First had the revolts and strikes happened, and then had the Imperial army opened fire on civilians doing peaceful protest in-font of the Palace. The true revolution happened when what remained of the fleet returned to Nordstad and opened fire on the Imperial Summer Palace, destroying it and killing the Empress and her princess in the opening salvos of the revolution.
The opening salvo worked like a sign for the people to rise up, and before nightfall was the streets were filled with people calling for justice and freedom from the tyrants.
But only small group had a fully formed plan and and did strike.
Disgrunted soldiers, marines and civilians stormed and captured the imperial family.
That was the first shots of a civil war that would light the nation up in flames.
With the Imperial family out of the picture did the generals in charge of the Imperial army argue on how to deal with these revolts. Bickering and arguments wasted time, the once centralized command that demanded that the Emperor had final say on military affairs now crippled the once mighty army and the rebels within a year managed to capture most of Rodina proper. With the Emperor as a hostage did the generals not dare move against the slowly forming Red army of peasants and workers that was forming in every major city.
A year would pass with the communists through the might of the now fully formed Red army was able to formally take control over Rodina proper. The Imperial family remained in captivity for six months before being executed behind closed doors for treason against the people of Rodina. With the Imperial family dead did further chaos spread across the land. The armies of the loyalists that had been held at bay because of fear for the life of the emperor now did not know who'm was truly in charge and infighting started making way from the peoples in the far corners of Rodina to bide for independence. The chaos also led to nobles and industrialists fleeing the countries with as much valuables they could carry, bringing further chaos to the land.
The loyalist forces now known as the Blue army would try to keep control of the lands they still controlled while the Red army was preparing to make its move.
