Election Day draws near, and all of the parties have been let loose of their chains to fight for the public's vote. For the National Liberals this is to be the most important few weeks of their short history, as if they don't win back their seats they will be a forgotten footnote in history.
At the beginning of the race the Polls are thus:
Metropolitan: 45% Liberal: 37% SDP: 5% National Liberal: 2% Agrarian: 2% Other/Independent: 9%

Scandal rocks the Metropolitan Party! Their support has been tanked in the coastal regions of the City of Sheen and even moreso in working class North Sheen. It is not known the extent of the scandal just yet but they have lost a sizeable chunk of support.
Poll 2:
Metropolitan: 32% -13 Liberal: 29% -8 SDP: 8% +3 National Liberal: 10% +8 Agrarian: 1% -1 Other/Independent: 20% +11

Poll 3:
Metropolitan: 30% -2 Liberal: 24% -5 SDP: 9% +1 National Liberal: 15% +5 Agrarian: 1% +0 Other/Independent: 21% +1

Throughout Sheen, as the news begins to print their stories of who said what and when, and how these policies would impact the Sheenish citizens, and as people are urged to the polls in the latest election, outside forces have not been idle. The Dunwikki, closer to Sheen in government and not far from them in space, have their own plans for the future of Sheen, and that future is one closest to Dunwikki ideals, governance, and influence. One where potentially the unqualified need not even have a vote. One where only the skilled, influential, and valuable have a say. One where only the Dunwikki have a say.
Of course, no official action has ever been taken by Dunwik in the Sheenish election, aside from cordial wishes of good luck to the current Mayor, Garend Marston. Unofficially, however...
Unofficially, men have been appearing, those with accents that are slightly Western, but otherwise relatively normal, speaking fiery rhetoric against the Liberal and Social Democrat parties. These institutions, it is said, will lead to Sheen's few current allies turning on them, the markets of the world being closed, and being isolated and locked out. That the businesses that made Sheen so great would simply pack up and move to other, more inviting lands, or stake out on their own bold colonial ventures. That the only choice is for the Metropolitan party. Wherever possible, the scandals are soothed by silver-tongued men in white suits, who bear generous gifts for their new friends. Debts are repaid, bribes are delivered, and this new Metropolitan advertisement faction seemingly grows by the day, as more and more men stand up suddenly in crowds, or deliver sermons for hours straight with megaphones.

Coming off a ship from Hweituzdas, a group of swarthy looking men in what most would consider traditionally pirate gear came and embraced another group of waiting men. They were all subscribers of the First International and had been sent here over the last few weeks to start the world revolution. Their efforts had thus far been focused on pamphlet work around National Liberal and Liberal neighbourhoods, to try and radicalise the cowardly and petite bourgeoisie Georgists into supporting a workers revolution.
Whilst they had done that, agitators had been meeting with their crypto-Marxist comrades in the S.D.P. to try and both flip some of them and arrange a power-sharing agreement between them, now outlawed Sheen Communist Party, and the new International Revolutionary Communo-Syndicalist Front for the People's Liberation. Though, secretly they had also been working to prepare the National Liberals and Liberals for being junior partners, as they were arguably 'friends of the revolution'.
Breathing in the air, the new comrades quickly made their ways to the docks to try and kill some bosses that had been trying to stop their workers from unionising. If all went to plan, they might even get a couple of the mayors in their pocket before the election.

Due to recent... international delegation's work... the SDP and National Liberals have came to a power sharing agreement and have formed the National, Liberal and Social Democratic Alliance Party, or NLSDAP for short. This has lead to a fundamental shakeup of the political scene leading to 3 titans in contention for being the largest party in government.
Poll 4:
Metropolitan: 30% +0 Liberal: 22% -2 NLSDAP: 28% +4 Agrarian: 2% +1 Other/Independent: 18% -3

The republic of heel uses connections of former Sheen residents to start an propaganda campaign in favour of democratically aligned Independent politicians to boost their influence and better public perception of representative Democracys. They do this over an private cover company based in Dunwik.

The union of the NLSDAP was something too big and broad to be allowed to continue, and the men of the west swiftly shifted their rhetoric against it, continuing to praise the Metropolitan Party's talents in construction of industry and the development of foreign affairs. In this time of escalating tension, what needed to be done was to stick to what worked, rather than try anything new and potentially disastrous.
Meanwhile, as the murders of some anti-union bosses started, the rash swiftly came into contention, as soon, the most prominent anti-Union activists had new guards, though nobody was ever able to tell where these strange, shotgun toting men were hired from. Violence was inevitable and would swiftly escalate from here.
At the same time, those who fell too far to one side in the NLSDAP were petitioned to break away from the party that would crush their voice. It was said that this gigantic coalition would please nobody, and only make everyone equally unhappy with their lot.
And through all of this, men preached against the evils of Socialism and Social Democracy into the night and early into the morning, equating those ideologies with the outlawed Communism. That if one became Socialist, Communism was the next step, and that Socialism in all its forms was merely a Communist ploy to seize power.
And among the Metropolitan supporters, while never acknowledged, a few small gangs of armed men went looking for anyone who was influencing the election. Anyone who was influencing the election that wasn't them.
A shell company in Dunwik calling for the independent politicians was investigated, and the independent politicians were swiftly given a new deal - they would be supported only if they helped with Dunwikki business affairs, and if it was between them and the Metropolitans, support would go to whoever aided Dunwik more.

Those independent politicians got promised protection and funding if they stayed true to their ideals of democracy this time by a different cover company based in sheen itself.
The dunwiki cover company could not get charged with anything as it never violated dunwiki law and is privately owned by an Dunwiki citizen who just so happens to sell sugar to the heel republic and the local market.
Security squads made up of former Heel pirates now Patrol the streets dealing with the Hit Squads that try to interfeer with heel interests. They have no formal connections.

The small business owners who made up the Business guild of Sheen opened the Newspapers and read them like they read the evening magazines, for kicks. Other countries had came to Sheen to beat the Sheenish at THEIR game. That of rigging Sheenish elections. Having let the amateurs have their fun for a week or so, and having had enough of the Metropolitans surviving set ups to make them appear far more corrupt than they were, The guild contacted the Guildhall to have the issues... dealt with, and the old order brought back to Sheen.

After the hard work of the Guilds to bring back order after a good week of insanity, the Liberals saw a massive resurgence in popularity that had not been matched since last election. More on this news in the paper tonight.

Things are beginning to settle down, and it is becoming clear that the National Liberal threat was nothing much more than a temporary ruse. The Agrarians continue to be the least surprising party on the ballot.

The crew from the CEA had arrived few days late, People's Commissariat of External Affairs was newly formed but the men running it was already veterans in what their task was. They had been part of starting the revolution in Rodina and now their mission was to spread the ideals of their cause. They knew communism had not taken hold in the state yet, but like in all states would it only be a matter of time before the people would demand it. Koldan had stated that democracies was a threat and a chance to influence in any way would be worth it just. A failed democracy proved that the state needed to be run by a strong leader. So the CEA agents had spread into the major cities and had started hanging up posters under the cover of the night. They would spread the idea and hope it would create seeds that would blossom over the coming years, they were playing the long game after all. The other plan was a little more complex, own teams would join the different party meetings and make sure the alcohol flow was going making the participants drunk and aggressive, making people say dumb stuff. Hopefully, show the people how fragile democracy is without breaking any laws.

After cleaning up the littering of communist propaganda, the NLSDAP have gotten a boost from the fact they are suspected to support socialist ideas, hurting the Liberals and Metropolitan parties.
Poll 7: (Final poll before election day)
Metropolitan: 30% -3 Liberal: 31% -4 NLSDAP: 23% +6 Agrarian: 2% +0 Other/Independent: 14% +1

The Elections are over, and the results are in! The makeup of the Sheenish Common Council is:
Metropolitan: 32 Liberal: 36 NLSDAP: 17 Agrarian: 2 Other/Independent: 13
And for the Alliance Council:
Metropolitan: 6 Liberal: 6 NLSDAP: 3 Agrarian: 1 Other/Independent: 13
For the first time in Sheenish history, a political party agreement was made, the Metropolitans and Liberals will provide confidence and supply to one another to support eachother's policies against those of the NLSDAP. This effectively makes them the governing group in the Common Council, and the largest bloc in the more important Alliance Council.

NLSDAP Leadership has chosen to elect a new, singular leader for the party. This was done through a secret ballot where John Smith was elected.

Despite their best efforts, the N.L.S.D.A.P. had started to slow down in recruitment. The workers of Sheen had all heard their their speeches, read their literature, and even attended at least one of their rallies. It was not enough! The membership had stopped its growth and was now more or less stagnant, with no major political scandals shaking them nor their opponents. It was under these conditions that the party started to fray. The more extreme and revolutionary elements of the party began calling for violent bombing campaigns and murders to be carried out, as the time for preparation was over and the time of revolution upon them. The moderate wings of the party started to get skittish in return, with some of them discussing openly the possibility of defecting to the other sides or starting a new party without the revolutionaries. It was this brewing political nightmare that got the agents within to start writing to their handlers; the handlers in Hweituzdas panicked, and in turn wrote to their masters further afield in Morthal; the naval and army intelligence officers in Morthal in turn wrote to their other offices in Wovthal and Haarshlaugs; finally, these offices wrote to the Sluut about the issue, passing on recommendations and courses of action that could be taken. Somewhere, deep within the seat of the Raikh's power, different artists presented their best works designed to appeal to certain minority or fringe groups. The idea to appeal to the Agrarians had been shot down incredibly quickly, as they were simply too opposed to the Party's existing industrial policies. The idea to appeal to the youth had been a bit more well received, but was ultimately thought too much of a long term investment to engage in alone... Finally, the choice became clear. The Party's agenda would be the homosexual agenda! In an instant, slogans of 'Love is love, take pride in who you are!' and 'We are all part of the rainbow!' were agreed upon, with a rainbow flag being chosen to represent this new political issue. A few poster designs were made and prepared for shipping to Sheen through covert routes, as well as lists of talking points. Chief amongst them were to push for a bill that would make discrimination on the basis of sex and sexuality illegal, as well as fostering a liberal image of communism, as being the only way towards equality of opportunity and outcome for all. Though the election was far away, this new angle would definitely help keep the party united and struggling against the system, as well as recruit minority groups. Directives were left, telling them to expand their appeal to other minorities as opportunities arose, but to make sure to lock in core support and not turn their backs on them most important backers. Finally, they were given orders to arrange Solidarity Parades and Pride Parades, to raise awareness of these new choice issues. If this did not stir the hornets' nest, nothing would.
Shortly after the new posters started showing up, Selblom wakes up and wonders what she can do to help others win acceptance by the public.

In the halls of The Church of Heavenly Wisdom in David sat nearly every Tholish priest in Sheen. Ceadda Abbot of Lindisfarne had summoned them all to discuss the rise of the NLSDAP and its potential consequences. As the last of the group arrived Ceadda addressed them, "I shall not mince words; we all know why we are here. Communism attempts to make its nest in this land, and we must respond with all haste lest we see a second Rodina." At the mention of Rodina, a murmur of agreement swept through the assembly; none desired to die like the priests of Rodina. Ceadda continued, "We do all in our power to protect the souls of Rodina. We must warn our flocks of the dangers of communism, we must pressure our representatives to take a firm stance in support of virtue and tradition, and we must spread such values across Sheen to stem the communist tide". There was a brief silence in the room before a Davidian priest suddenly called out, "Proper job!" and words of agreement flooded the room from the various sheenish priests.
