The Lumilapset appear humanoid in shape but have some greater distinctions from humans. For one they have evolved from boreal felinae and are therefore a felinoid species.
They have a set of large canines and carnassial teeth, resulting in their diet being primarely meat based. Their large eyes are highly sensitive to light, due to retroreflective tissue behind their retinas. This results in them having night vision, though they primarely hunt during the day as it is warmer and they lost a majority of the fur their species once had. Their pointed ears on top of their heads, not at the sides, are one of the few parts of the body, which is still covered partially in fur, similar to a lynx and are sensitive to high frequence sounds. Due to an organ in their mouth, they can taste the air. Depending on the bloodline, some Lumilapset have even retained predominant retractible claws at their hands and feet. All Lumilapset have five digits at their hands and four digits at their feet. While they usually wear shoes to protect themselves from the cold and damage, should push come to shove, they can discard their shoes and run digitigrade on all fours. The parts of their body still covered in fur other than the ears, are usually the back of their arms and hands, the front of their legs, the top of their feet and a line of fur on their back.
