On the 3rd of March the army of New Respite issued a declaration that the current Holy Council had endangered the lives of its citizenry by obstinately refusing to compromise with the Tholes who they themselves broke oath with. Thus with the right to coup assured through the Royal Ban the army declared the Holy Council unfit and would work to overthrow them and govern New Respite under a military dictatorship. Despite the army itself being very loyal to this idea, and much of the citizenry not being ideologically opposed to it enough to interfere, the navy, alwealdvarden, gepfylas and tiarvarden all backed the current government. Sadly for the Holy Council these forces were no real match to the army and so the Holy Council quickly drew plans to escape to Kumarkatch with the navy and whatever armed personnel could leave the country before being caught.
On the 4th of March the army, now calling itself the Rinhifirod (Realm Army), gathered into 3 forces. The first was sent to apprehend and detain any potential counter-revolutionaries from amongst the alwealdvarden, as that was the only loyalist group whose locations were public knowledge and easy to track. The other 2 forces were sent to the cities of Mercia and Apokalipolis, laying siege to them and not allowing any flow of traffic enter or leave by any means except by sea. They did not yet fire on the city but even still the old walls were manned by members of the tiarvarden in case a full assault were to occur.
By the 6th the citizenry of Mercia and Apokalipolis had petitioned the Holy Council and Navy to allow them to flee along with them. While at first the Holy Council was apprehensive, due to the vast numbers of people who wished to flee, they eventually acquiesced knowing that the colonies paled in population compared to the heartlands of New Respite and they would likely need any bodies they could get to ever threaten a reconquest. And thus the already hastily written plans for evacuation had even more rushed additions made to allow for the increased amount of exiles. This also lead to the commandeering of many civilian trade vessels to be roughly refitted for carrying the enlarged amount of passengers needed for the evacuation.
On the 10th the first ships headed to Kumarkatch had left from Apokalipolis, containing most of the Holy Council besides Sitsi (Who was bound for the Reservations) and Patriarch Rybakar, who wised to remain in New Respite until the last ships left in a show of solidarity. These first ships left late into the evening, hoping the cover of night would grant them extra safety in case the army shot at them. Luckily, while the armies field guns did track the fleeing ships, they made no shots, seemingly only making sure they were not sailing to elsewhere in New Respite.
On the 13th the vast majority of the citizens in Mercia and Apokalipolis had been packed aboard converted cargo ships and commandeered ocean liners and sent on their way to Kumarkatch. These ships were by no means comfortable and were excessively cramped, but most of the passengers hardly cared, just happy to be away from the presumed looming battles to come. Whatever ships remained after this large exodus now started to carry mostly members of the alwealdvarden, gepfylas and tiarvarden as the cities became almost barren of occupants.
Finally, on the 15th of March the last ships left port, bearing Patriarch Rybakar to her new court. The once cities were now almost bereft of occupants, with only the old, the sick, the crippled, the stubborn and the dissidents remaining. Finally the army moved in and occupied the cities, declaring the coup over and themselves as the new government. Due to the now radically reduced population of the capital, a new one was picked out, Kedrosgraf, the regional capital of Isaiameos, seat of the only Councillor who switched sides, Matwou Þa Briton. After this they declared this new state as the Rinhir af Nou Amethwal with Elaefa-Styl unanimously elected by the officers of the army as the first Prohedras and Marhlaw of this new government.
Meanwhile, as the first ships arrive at Kumarkatch a little over 3 weeks later, the Holy Council of Chedash-Sanhedrin, the Royal Diet of Kumarkatch, the Federal Council of the Western Reservations, the Royal Court of New Judea and the Guild Parliament of the Poliskratosi convene in Xelaj and declare themselves part of the Tyranich Wealdban af Nou Amethwal, with Rybakar serving as the first Queen of Queens of the newly founded Commonwealth.
