By the middle of the year 1919, Dunwikki elections were back underway, albeit drastically different now. No longer was the vote restricted to only 100 people, but instead had expanded to all college-educated men under Arthur's ambitious plan to reduce corruption within the country of Dunwik. As the bureaucracy was settling in, voting stations established, and the people informed of their new rights, several personalities emerged, seeking to seize control of all Dunwik for their own ends.
DR ISAAC ARTHUR
Policy: ONE MIND
With Dunwik's borders secure and their finances stable, Arthur seeks to future-proof Dunwik against any potential danger that may emerge through a robust and transparent policy of education, meritocracy, and crackdowns on any form of corruption that can be found. While many have claimed that this is a thinly-veiled excuse to continue massacring his enemies and establishing his cult of personality, Arthur's One Mind initiative gives the clearest long-term vision of what Dunwik ought to be, and he enjoys immense support among the college-educated. Anyone seeking to run against him has a steep uphill climb.
SINCLAIR (Formerly MAXWELL) HOUSE
Policy: THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS
Ever since the Leng War, Dunwik had suffered a tremendous loss in international prestige and interconnectedness, and Arthur's recent isolationist push did not help matters. House cares primarily about industry and economy, but he also thinks that without the support and service of the international community, Dunwik will not survive. While he doesn't bring a long-term plan to the table, his short-term ideas include patching up relationships with the Divinians and Sadaler, and attempting to reform Dunwik into a beloved and acclaimed nation.
LEONARD "SATAN" WALSH.
Policy: STEADY AS SHE GOES
Satan has cut his teeth in both the Laurian Conflict and the Leng War, and was a long-time veteran of conflicts beyond that. Tired of combat and the chaos of the outside world, Satan's conservative and careful vision of the future is to transform Dunwik into a self-sufficient fortress, as it was before Nelson opened the country up to the wider world. Popular among veterans and older people, Satan wants to withdraw further and ride out the geopolitical storms he sees on the horizon, only, perhaps, pouncing when the time seems right.
HAYAK PLANTER
Policy: THE ARISTOCRACY'S HURRAH
One of the richest men remaining in Dunwik, Hayak longs for a return to the olden days of unregulated corporatocracy. While he has a high risk of being assassinated by any of the other candidates, he seeks to kill them all as well and throw Dunwik backwards in time to the 1890s, with the return of the mob, the kleptocracy, and the abolition of all of Arthur's democratic reforms.
HENRY WEST
Policy: THE ABYSS GAZES BACK
Nobody will survive.
The Dunwikki people are inured to propaganda and distrustful of foreigners. Any attempted manipulation of the nation would require substantial skill and effort to be effective.
