Laurian Affairs

The Unionist Party:
Calling for (as the name suggests), union with WTC, the unionist part seeks support amongst the conservative elements of Lauria especially in regions that voted for union with WTC in the referendum.

Policies:
-Union with WTC
-Placing of either a duke or Cransnikov monarch on the throne
-Agrarian subsidies and economic focus
-Military build up and development
-Tholish Christianity being recognized as the state religion of Lauria

The legitimist Party:
Made up by the more nationalistically bent nobility and their supporters, the legistmast party seeks to strengthen the nobility’s power in Lauria.

Policies:
-Reinforcement of the rights of nobility
-Crowned republic with a king being elected amongst the dukes
-Military build up and development
-Restricting voting rights to the upper class/forming an upper house elected by the upper class
-Seperation from the Tholish church to form the Laurian church (not universally held)

The National Party:
The more moderate rightwing party, the nationalists seek to build up and strengthen Lauria. They are conservative and seek to centralize the state.

Policies:
-Military build up and development
-Centralizing the state to create a strong national identity.
-Conservative social policies supporting traditional gender roles and family structures.
-Universal male suffrage.
-Maintaing control of national industries and not following under too much foreign influence


The Green Party:
Made up of the Laurian peasantry, the green party is a part focused on the advancement of agrarian industries. They are wary of industrial domination of politics and seek to maintain a decentralized agricultural state.

Policies:
-agricultural subsidies and a focus on agriculture in designing infrastructure.
-traditional gender roles and family structures
-abolition of any forms of forced labor or slavery
-removal of certain noble privileges such as hunting rights and the levee
-Tholish Christianity being recognized as the state religion of Lauria
-decentralized confederate government
-Citizen’s militias making up the only form of military
-Land reform

The Liberal Party:
Made up of the nascent middle class, the liberal party seeks to establish free trade and secularism to strengthen their wealth and political influence.

Policies:
-Removing all noble privileges
-Formation of a national republic
-Laissez faire economics and free trade
-Propertied voting
-State secularism

The Worker’s Party:
Made up of the proletariat the Worker’s Party are revisionary socialists seeking to strengthen the power of unions and achieve social welfare benefits.

Policies:
-Restricted work week
-Legalization of unions and strikes
-Republicanism and removal of noble privileges
-Universal direct democracy
-Nationalization of key industries
-Implementation of worker’s protections


The Communist Party:
Radical offshoots of the Worker’s Party. The Communists advocate a shifting to Marxist socialism to achieve communism.

Policies:
-Proletarianization of the upper class.
-Legalization of unions and strikes
-Republicanism and removal of noble privileges
-Formation of a dictatorship of the proletariat
-Nationalization of key industries
-Implementation of worker’s protections

The Peasants' League

- Farming subsidies so we can have cheaper food.
- Government through councils.
- Monarch to handle foreign affairs and nothing else.
- Only having taxes when the government wants to pay for something new.
- Cancelling all taxes once every seven years.
- Land reform to ensure fair access to land and resources for small-scale farmers.
- Opposition to policies that disproportionately benefit large agribusiness corporations or harm small farmers and rural communities.
- Banning absentee land-ownership.
