Carolina was sitting at her room, after her fencing lesson. Something had been gnawing at her mind for months by now. She rang the little bell to call Codsworth.
"Yes, Your Majesty?" Said the old Sheenishman.
"Codsworth, would you mind calling mom to my room?"
"Oh, Your Majesty, you know mother is busy with-"
"Just call her already!"
"Right away your Majesty. It will be only a moment." Said the Old man, gently closing the door and racing down the hallway.
Carolina fiddled around with the buttons of her fencing dress. Evidently it would not be "only a moment", as mother was always busy with a million different things. She probably had already made up and excuse as to why she couldn't come right now and that she'd talk to her at dinner. Then the door creaked open.
"Hello dear. What did you want from me?" Asked Isabel, sitting at Carolina's bed.
"When will I get to see Florin?"
"Well, we were planning on having you visit Divinum in a few years."
"Why not sooner?"
"We don't think it'd be-"
"ENOUGH WITH THE EXCUSES!" Spat the Princess. "All you do is make up excuses as to why I can't do this or that! I want to travel to Divinum and I want to see Florin! We've exchanged letters for years! Would talking in person really be any different?"
"That is not the tone one uses when speaking to their mother!" Said Isabel, shaken by Carolina's outburst.
She had the same temper every Roque had. Fiery. Emotional. Stubborn. Oh God was she stubborn. But Carolina was a special case. It did not take much to send her into a passionate rage.
"And yes, yes it would." Isabel said, sighing. "Florin has gone through a lot, and he's not exactly one for conversation. Admittedly, neither was I at his age. I'm afraid that Florin in person will most definitely not compare to the poems you two exchange. I was planning on letting you go in a few years, when the two of you are older and more mature."
Carolina was... calmer, but still not exactly pleased by the response.
"So is that a no?"
"I suppose that we can stop for a vacation in Divinum after we're done attending your uncle's coronation festivities at Tholand."
Carolina hugged her mother tightly, pressing her saber's pommel against Isabel's side. "Thank you mom!"

To: His Majesty Florin von Marcum, Emperor of Divinum
From: Her Majesty, Princess Carolina Hengistdottir de Roque of Magdalenum
Hello Florin!
I'm writing you this letter because mom had finally let me come to meet you! We'll be going to my uncle's Coronation on the Kingdom of the Tholes, and she said we can stop to vacation at Divinum afterwards! I can't wait to meet you! You can finally show me around all the places you've told me about!
Hugs and Kisses,
Carolina de Roque
P.S.: Don't tell anyone, but I asked one of the serving girls here to send along with this letter a bottle of the perfume I usually use.
