Returning from his journey across the realm where he was proclaimed by every major lord, city, and kingdom, Ludwig knelt in the Collegiate Church of Saint George. Before him stood the Archbishop of Cantwaraburg and facing him in the cardinal stood the Garter Principal King of Arms, Lord Chancellor, Lord Great Chamberlain, and the Earl Marshal, which many other great lords and burghers gathered in the chamber.
Beginning the ceremony, the Archbishop asked, "Sirs, I here present unto you Ludwig Cransnikov, your undoubted King. For whom all have assembled today to swear homage and fealty, do you recognize and submit yourself to him?" Speaking for their sides of the room, the officers of the king all proclaim their loyalty to King Ludwig. With this the Archbishop proceeds to present the oaths to the king:
Archbishop: Will you solemnly promise and swear to to govern the peoples of The Isles, Saxony, Juteland, Heel, Lombardy, Frisia, Lauria, Vulcan, and any other of your possessions or terrirtories as according to the teachings and morals of God, as laid out in the Bible and Dogma? Ludwig: I solemnly swear. Archbishop: Will your judgements bring law and justice to the realm, while being tempered by mercy? Ludwig: They will. Archbishop: Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel? Will you to the utmost of your power defend the Tholish Church in the realm and abroad? Will you maintain and preserve inviolable the integrity of the Tholish Church, and the doctrine, worship, discipline, and government thereof, as by law established in Tholeland? And will you preserve unto the Bishops and Clergy of Tholeland, and to the Churches there committed to their charge, all such rights and privileges, as by law do or shall appertain to them or any of them? Ludwig: All this I promise to do. The things which I have here before promised, I will perform, and keep. So help me God. Archbishop: *Produces Bible* Then let this be your wisdom; this is the only law which you must abide, these are the pure teachings of God.
with the oath complete, the assembled gathered for communion.

At the end of communion the Archbishop recited the prayer of Deus electorum fortitudo, while the officers of the king remove the red robe Ludwig was wearing for his oaths. Ludwig walks to the Coronation chair as the officers ready a canopy to cover Ludwig for the duration of his anointment. As Ludwig sits the canopy is raised and the anointment ceremony is shrouded. When the canopy is lowered Ludwig is adorned with the crown jewels in preparation for the crowning.
The Archbishop then lifts the Royal Crown from its pedestal and prays, "Oh God, the crown of the faithful; bless we beseech thee and sanctify this thy servant our king, and as thou dost this day set a crown of pure gold upon his head, so enrich his royal heart with thine abundant grace, and crown him with all princely virtues through the King Eternal Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." Walking forward the Archbishop places the crown on Ludwig's head, following which the assembled cheer, "God save the king! Long may he reign!", the all the bells in Maxinberg ring out at once, and a great number of rifles and cannons are fired out in gun salutes across the city's garrison.
As the acclaims die down, the Archbishop stands before the king and prays, "God crown you with a crown of glory and righteousness, that having a right faith and manifold fruit of good works, you may obtain the crown of an everlasting kingdom by the gift of him whose kingdom endureth for ever." As the assembled reply, "Amen." A church choir sings before the rite of Benediction to conclude the coronation.
With the coronation complete the assembled clergy, then royals, then nobles, and finally burghers present themselves and swear fealty before the king. After, Dynmpha is coronated as queen consort in a simpler version of the royal coronation. With the ceremony complete the 4 grand barons lift a canopy over the king as they and the assembled walk through the streets on parade to the after party in Maxinhof.

Florin scooted forward through the well wishers, trying to see over the taller guests. There hadn’t been much opportunity to see this country with his rather abrupt and last minute departure from St. Helena. He’d been able to see less with that stupid helmet on. But the council insisted he be in uniform for the coronation. Something about “public image”. Christoph had already slipped away to congratulate his sister ages ago, leaving the emperor to his own devices. He tugged at the fibula fastening his pallium in place, and smoothed down the front of his tunic before making a dash through the adults.
“Uh. Hi. Congratulations to you both.” He placed a hand on his chest in the traditional Divinian greeting. Did he need to bow? Was emperor elect the same rank? Oh but they’re foreigners. The thoughts passed quickly. It probably didn’t matter.
“I, or we, I mean” he cleared his throat and tried again. “On behalf of Divinium, I have a gift. As thanks for your hospitality. I figured you have enough fancy clothes and jewels and stuff. But I brought a bunch of amphorae of wine. Falernian. The good stuff. Just uh, keep them away from open flames.”
“Mmm by the way, have you seen Wilhelm. Or the Magdali representatives. Not for anything specific. I just wondered…”

Wilhelm, my son that is, has been commanding his new company of Picts around the parade field for the last while, I presume you'll still find him there. As for the Magdali... last I heard I believe they were visiting Guilherme on the upper balcony facing the garden."

Isabel and Hengist slowly made their way through the mountains of well-wishers. From the corner of her eye, she saw Florin scooting past the guests. She smirked a little.
"What?" Asked Hengist. "Oh it's nothing. Just something I wasn't expecting to see."
The pair made their way to the newly crowned pair. At which point, Isabel made a gesture to the Lifeguard accompanying them. The soldier produced from underneath his coat two boxes: One for the King, and one for the Queen.
"Hello, and congratulations to you two. On behalf of Magdalenum, and from one Royal couple to another, allow me to present you with these matching sabers, crafted with Magdali steel and decorated with silver from the Eastern Province. May your reign be long and prosperous." Said Isabel.
The pair of sabres was of the finest craft available in the Isles. The King's Sabre had an Auroch's head for a pommel, and was decorated with plenty of Tholish iconography. The Queen's Sabre had a Boar at the pommel. Both blades had a raven at the guard. The two bowed
Having greeted the newly crowned couple, Isabel set out searching for old Wilhelm. She found him sitting amidst the older nobles. She bowed as a gesture of respect to the old man.
"I have to thank you for taking your grandson under your wing. I can see he has flourished under you care," She said, smiling. "His other grandfather would've been proud. I think the two of you would've gotten along."
Guilherme and Carolina sat at the balcony overlooking the garden. Guilherme wanted to show her sister all the nooks an crannies of the castle, but for now, the beautiful view from the balcony would have to suffice.

Renaud turned towards his brother Arnoul and commented towards him: "By Marie how long will that lad be busy mumbling about. And his posture, he shows too much insecurity I would like a word with his instructors." His brother simply raised an eyebrow and retorted with a slight chuckle: "Well isn't that boy the Emperor of our most beloved neighbouring nation. You're a being bit harsh I would like to say, but I can kind off see how my darling niece wasn't impressed by him." "Ah seems he's done, now let's pray I didn't leave that gift lying on my desk back home." With that Renaud moved towards the newly crowned young King of the Tholes, his brother covering his flank. Once he stood before the man and his wife, and was sure he had their attention he slightly inclined his head while his brother gave a formal bow. "May I express my congratulations for this step in your life. Truthfully it's grande that this is not a festivity in the shadow of someones passing." He took a short moment to let these words last and then continued: "But we're not here to reminiscence but to look towards the future and be assured that you have both mine and Acielons best wishes for your reign. As a signifier of our intentions and wishes for future relations, let me present you our gift." With that he waves for one of the secretaries accompanying him who stepped forward with a sturdy ornamented oak cheast and opened it. Inside on deep green velvet was an ornate scroll. Renaud continued on: "With this writ, you and all future Kings of your dynasty are given the title Duc of Tholonne encompassing all of the land that is being settled by your people as per treaty. This gives you the right to appoint a representative to the Chambres du Parlement, so that he may serve as the Tholish voice in it's halls. Be assured this Duche doesn't create a relationship of liege and vassal, for it's a title of honour. Though it does come with a palais that members of your dynasty may reside in should they desire to, and with that palais comes 50 of the finest Acielonian breeds of steeds."

In the end, Florin decided some angry Pict soldiers would be preferable to seeing Guilherme again. He stepped into the frigid air, looking about for Wilhelm. Unsure where to go exactly, a creeping panic began to set in. He put on his helmet and slid the visor down. It helped. Sure he felt like he was breathing in a tin can, but at least no one would be able to see his face. And the confines did warm his breath a little. After much aimless wandering, he did eventually make his way to the Parade Grounds. Florin noted that his boots gripped the icy ground well in comparison to the cobbles. He’d have to report that back home. Unsure how to get the younger boy’s attention, he opted to stand a bit away, watching the soldiers march about. How anyone found this enjoyable was beyond his comprehension.

Ludwig and Dynmpha were rather overwhelmed with the -literal- piles of gold and treasures showered upon them by the many men and women of high enough standing to attend this party; nevertheless, they made certain to pay particular attention to the foreign royals visiting. First there was Ludwig's brother and sister in-law from Magdalenum whom he warmly embraced and graciously took his gift.
Then came the king of Acielon presenting a title of nobility and an estate, to which Ludwig was frankly shocked before his wife graciously took the writ and replied, "Your generosity honors us beyond words and I fear whatever platitudes I can assemble does not do it justice so to be brief, you have our thanks." To which Ludwig concurred, "most assuredly." With the hints of a devious smile Dynmpha continued, "You know my eldest, Wilhelm, speaks quite fondly of your daughter, Justine. Perhaps you would like to take measure of him for any potential... arrangements?"

He was quite glad that the gift had managed to impress, he had to pull so many strings for it. Then the Queen brought up her son and he himself couldn't help but answer with a smile: "Oh quite assuredly I want to talk to the prince. My daughter herself was impressed after her visit and he seemed to have left a wonderful impression, so I find myself quite curious already. If I may inquire where to find him?"

Ludwig pounced on the chance to move from the center of attention replying, "Oh, it would be best to check on him; we can just take you." With this Ludwig and Dynmpha took Renaud to the snowy parade field.
Wilhelm 2 was excited. Clad in his highland garb and ignoring the fact he could see his own breath through the scar wrapped over his face, he marched and commanded from the front of his company -occasionally stumbling on commands only for the elderly sargent to whisper corrections that he quickly applied. Under Wilhelm 2's lead the pikemen marched around and around the parade field turning in all directions and occasionally pausing and entering a battle formation oblivious to those watching the troops.

Florin watched Wilhelm II, more enraptured by the child shouting orders than anything the troops were doing. He had whispered to one of his guards to gather a contubernium of Praetorians earlier on, and the men stood at his back, awaiting orders. Surely that would be a good way to get his attention.
“I-intente”. The command was choked, but the praetorians were accustomed to it, and snapped to attention nonetheless. He mused on the right command, but a crunching of snow from behind him caused a start, and he wheeled about to find, yet again, an unpleasant surprise.

Well, this certainly was unexpected. Now there was a bunch of unpleasant guards standing between him and the parade field. There also was a smaller one among them, who Renaud recognized. The Divinian Emperor, now why that boy was having a get-together with his guards was frankly of no interest to him, but oh well to be polite. "Greetings fine soldiers and to your emperor too, may your paths be blessed, would you mind letting us just pass through? I'm certain we'll have plenty time to have a nice conversation later on." He mustered a somewhat polite smile saying that. It was a good idea to take this opportunity, he could probe this boy a bit, maybe he had been wrong in his evaluation after all and the Emperor just had been having a bad day.

He spoke, the faceplate of his helmet hiding the scowl he let loose underneath. “Salve. I’m sorry but I was just about to speak to my dear cousin Wilhelm.” After a nod, he wheeled about, and yelled a command with much more vigor than he had thought possible. “Parate! Movete, nunc!” The Praetorians snapped off on the left foot, marching forward in time with shields raised. The Signifier, who was close to Renaud, brushed into his arm as he stepped out. “Decedite!” The man shouted harshly, following his emperor's orders with single minded purpose.

Hearing the sudden shouting, Wilhelm 2 barked out an order for his men to turn about, which was done with a crisp, synchronized stomp, turn, and step. Wilhelm then called his men to halt which was quickly obeyed, with their pikes raised up ready to be lowered into a wall with a single motion. Wilhelm than watched the situation trying to figure out what was going on.

"What's going on here?" Said Guilherme, who had left the balcony and descended to where Wilhelm was. Carolina kept on nagging him about Florin, and he eventually caved. Seeing the Divinan guards about to push an obviously high ranking foreign dignitary, his imposing inquisitive tone down dialed down a bit. He was not sure what had happened, but he was not about to mess with Praetorians. Florin didn't need any more reasons to hate him. That being said, two of the Lifeguards that were standing outside immediately stepped to the sides of the Crown Prince the moment he stepped outside. They had orders to make sure the children didn't go too far from the Palace premises, or did anything stupid.

But they had his attention at least. Hopefully this would end in laughter and not tears. “Parate. Gladios, stringite!” The guards responded, withdrawing their swords and raising shields higher. Ever closer they marched into the wall of picts. When he had gotten them close enough, Florin gave a final yell. “State!” The guards halted. “Signa convertite!” The men wheeled around, exposing their backs to the Picts and faced toward the onlookers. Florin never bothered to look whether the Tholes had lowered their pikes or not. He trusted Wilhelm. “Heya Will. Surprise?” He called meekly over his shoulder
