His Holiness, Pope Celestine II has finally passed away at the age of 102, marking the end of an era. From across the globe the College of Cardinals has been summoned toa attend the funeral service of their brother, and to assemble a conclave for the election of a new Holy Father.

Archbishop William von Marcum: Serving as the Metropolitan of St. Helena for over 25 years, Archbishop William is a traditionalist and political conservative. He has served as Councilor of Faith to the Divinian crown since the reign of his brother, Emperor Christopher III. The Archbishop is a firm believer in the maintenance of the temporal authority of the church, having openly spoken against the taxes enforced on church land by the Divinian Imperial government. Desires for a firmer separation between the Divinian realm and the Petrine Dominions. He is 58 years old.
Cardinal Joseph Bartone: Cardinal of Rigel, Tateland, he was appointed Legatus a latere by the late Pope Celestine II. To this end, he signed the Treaty of Rigel, which officially codified the Petrine Dominions as a protectorate of Divinium. He also oversaw the Council of Sheen, which opened communication with the Caudian Chruches, and confirmed partial communion with the Tholish Church. He has also overseen the conversion of Magdalenum and the reunification of the church of Acielon with the Catholic Church. He is 47 years old.

Prior Florian V. Prêtre: Serving as the prior for the church in New Acre, New Respite, the only majority Catholic settlement in the country and has done so since the town's founding. Before this he was a minor priest serving in Chalphys but once he had heard word of the peasant's crusade to New Respite he left his church and accompanied the crusade to the far isle hoping to spread the word of the Lord to the heretics. After the landing he served the crusaders dutifully in spreading swaths of propoganda as the crusaders decided to try and convince the Caudians of the benefits of Catholicism first and then start the crusade proper, however before they had a chance to New Respite restabilised and the country was occupied by West Thosel Cransconia the crusaders accepted a treaty and most went home, happy in the knowledge that the heretics were under communion control. Florian was one of those that stayed and the only priest to do so and thus was put in charge of the town by the ruling state of New Respite, he has not rested in his holy task and while he is the only ordained priest in New Acre, this is due to all others that were later ordained being sent on missionary work to spread the good word of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Florian is 62.

Cardinal Garthnac Buchan: Archbishop of the Morray Highlands, Garthnac won esteem and relevance when he negotiated to peace of St John, which finally, after centuries of conflict, established Tholish recognition that the Pictish church is in communion with the Catholic church and not with Maxinberg. He won this concession through offering the submission and support of the Picts to Maxinberg in temporal matters and has served as a key advisor to Wilhelm since the start of his reign. Garthnac believes in the unification of the universal church and desires to at least begin serious efforts to bring back separate churches under the Catholic fold. He has faced criticism for his concessions and compromises, though he has claimed that in doing so he prevented more needless spilling of Christian blood than any hardliner ever has. He is also a proponent of the church taking a more active role in politics abroad in order to promote christian values and the faith. Garthnac is 68.

Bishop Dom João Lavrador: Bishop in the Imperial Province of Fortaleza, João is a staunch traditionalist and an extreme isolationist. He dislikes the more recent developments the Papacy has undertaken in regards to the Tholish church, and actively advocated the revocation of the special privileges given to the Tholish Church in Afonsosburgo.The Bishop believes in the maintenance of the temporal authority of the church, having openly spoken and even protested against the taxes enforced on church land by the Imperial Synod. Desires for a firmer separation between the Secular and the Temporal. Aged 45.
Archbishop Dom Nicolau Aristides: Appointed Archbishop of the Magdali Diocese by the Late Pope, Nicolau presides over the Magdali Diocese and advises the Empress on Religious matters. A progressive, he desires that the Word of God be spread throughout the World peacefully, and that more efforts be made to reconcile with the Churches that have strayed away over the centuries. The church in Afonsusburgo has a friend in Nicolau. A firm believer of cooperation between Church and State, Nicolau supported and even encouraged taxes on Church land. Aged 59.

Cardinal Derek McGuire: A relatively progressive Cardinal wishing to further bring other churches into Communion under the Papacy such as the Sectarian Church and Tholish Church, He has served as the Cardinal of the City of Tvickerland for 15 years continuously holding a position that any war between Christian nations leads their people to be damned to Hell. He also strongly believes that the Church and the Pope has authority over all rulers and like Archbishop William, wishes for a firmer seperation between the Imperium Divinium and the Petrine Dominions. He is currently 52 Years Old.
Cardinal Jonathan Fritzwilliam: The 83 year old Cardinal of Green Grand Ait is well known for his extreme views and rambling sermons. He believes that all Clergymen must take a vow of poverty and to be barred from purchasing goods, mandatory daylight fasting for all clergymen, a requirement that Clergymen can only speak during mass, with a secondary exceptioon for praying and imparting wisdom of the Divine. Further into his agenda are tests of faith for new Priests, Nuns, Cardinals and Popes, namely in drinking a poisoned chalice and handling a black mamba to see if God accepts them as worthy representatives. Finally and most controvertially, he believes that the 2nd Coming of Jesus Christ has occured in the form of Rybakar of New Respite, and believes that in 6 years time the Rapture will occur.
