Over a decade ago, your father and I shook hands and agreed to form a defensive pact, which has been beneficial for our two countries to grow closer together, however given the current volatility of the ringsea I would like to propose the possibility of forming a true military alliance between our nations, as to reaffirm in these trying times the longstanding committment between our people towards co-prosperity, and it would also be a fantastic way I believe to signal to the world our shift from a western to an eastern power. Of course there is also the benefit that wherever your men may march, so shall ours if you call us.

It is with great delight that I receive this letter. The Association has been a trusted friend, and we are more than happy to take the next step. We understand that the long-lasting ballance of power in Ringsea has unfortunately been completely torn apart, and we are happy that you trust us to aid in providing you with the stability that both our peoples desire. After the War Tribunal of the Moderali Lords, I would be more than happy to draft and sign this deal in person.
May this prove to be the start of something greater than any of us can image, and may God bless both the Imperium and the Association.

To the honourable Duke Estrana,
As you well know, the Tholes and Sadaler are currently brutally grinding eachother into secondary powers, and as such are not reliable allies hence us leaving the Military pact of the Hansa. While we are not comfortable with joining the Latin League at this current point in time the Court is in full agreement that furthering relations with the Eastern Powers is beneficial, as such I propose a defensive pact between the Imperium Divnium and the Association, given this was already a position both our nations enjoyed for the short time that both were in the Military pact and the beneficial nature to continued Placidian stability this would provide.
Also my condolenses to Emperor Florian for the loss of Empress Regent Ethlynn Von Marcum, I cannot imagine how hard it is for him at this moment, and I have been informed he does enjoy a good book. It is a book on the early years of the Sheenish Peninsula before the Alliance was formed, Mayor Harvey wished to give the boy a machine gun, however we informed him that would be inappropriate.

Salve, Your Excellency,
It is pleasing to the Council to hear reticence from the Associated Cities on joining the Latin League. It is evident to us, and presumably yourself, that the best assurance of peace for the Associated Cities is neutrality. With the Associated Cities remaining neutral in regards to foreign blocs, it will ensure your safety far more than joining the League at this point. While it is the opinion of this government that all Latins should rightfully be under one banner, we do recognize that such a movement will require proper timing.
That said, we also value the peace from which Placidia bears her name. That peace is most easily assured through mutual cooperation with our neighbors. The Associated Cities have always proven themselves suitable partners for Divinium, and your unique geographic position on the Western Flank of the continent has historically been important to our people as the bulwark through which Western barbarians must pass. Though I do not expect the Sadalers to be a great threat to anyone following the scrupulous bloodletting of their own men, it is important we support one another should such an event come to pass. As such, the Imperial Council cordially accepts a defensive alliance with the Associated Cities of Sheen.
As a personal aside, I am grateful for the gift, which has been delivered to the Emperor. As a father, uncle, and grandfather I must agree that the book was a better choice of gift; though Lord knows the boy could use more practice with firearms.
