In 1203 YA, Dyson Yerkes had cracked it, he had gotten fed up of waiting for his photo to be done professionally and as such had came up with an idea, make a small camera which even a child could use, and as such he got his best men on the job to make his idea a reality. By 1204, they had achieved what he had asked, and under budget too! And as such, for the cost of 1 shilling, the Yerkes Box Camera went on sale to anyone willing to buy one.

Several Weeks Earlier
Mike Cannon-Brookes, the owner of the Brookes Photographics Company, sat behind the desk in his office looking nervously at the two people standing on the opposite side.
"Whatever you think it is that I did, I didn't do it! We're just friends!"
The two agents from the Military Security and Intelligence Agency looked sidelong at each other briefly before looking back at Mr Brookes. "We aren't here about that Mr Brookes, we are here on a matter of national security. And for the record, we aren't the police or the church, we don't care about who you take home at night, granted they aren't a security risk."
"Ah..." Mr Brookes exclaimed softly. They had been watching him... "What are you here about then?"
The agent on the left who seemed a bit older than his companion placed a remarkably small camera on the desk, "The Yerkes company, a Sheenish outfit, has recently begun production of this camera; in itself a rather simple piece of kit, but the film required to use it is remarkably complex and we currently do not know how to make it."
Brookes visibly relaxed, "And you want me to go over there, and buy the production rights. Yes?" This was just business, this he could understand, not some interrogation or spy drama.
The older agent nodded, "We would be willing to subsidize the purchase, on the condition that you do not mention this meeting or any association to us, and provide us with any information required to produce the film."
Mr Brookes nodded, "I have heard about this new camera, it is going to revolutionise the industry, getting in on production first is an excellent opportunity, and having the effort subsidized is even better." Brookes extended his hand, "I'll expect you to keep your end of the bargain."
"Of course." The older agent shook Mr Brookes hand, "A pleasure doing business. The sooner you get this done the better. We will be in contact when you return from your trip."
Present Day
Mr Brookes sat in a rather comfortable waiting room sipping a glass of water that the receptionist had kindly provided. He had arrived slightly early to his meeting, leaving the hotel early in case he got lost on the way in. Fortunately he didn't have to wait for long. Just as he polished off the glass the door at the end of the room opened and the receptionist beckoned him over.
"Mr Yerkes is ready to see you now."
With that Mr Brookes calmly stood up, and began following the receptionist towards one of the most lucrative business deals in his life.

To: The Right Honourable Mister Dyson Yerkes, King of Tanysara, Prince-Consort of the Hauhkuno, First Minister of the Association, Common Councillor for Bankside North, C.E.O. of Sheenish Underground Electric Railways et al.
From: Sa Hauhkuno af þis Raikh af hize Dalin, Haimfaðs þata Mattman Robertsunus af hize Dalin en Goþijin
Dear Dyson,
We hope that this finds you well.
We would like to request several of these new cameras of yours be sent to the Sluut and a few other places requiring photographic security measures on a regular basis. The men have complained about the difficulties they have had with other types of photography and we can not loose the security measures. Also, we would like one of those radio-wave based detection devices we have heard so much about from your company.
If possible, could you have your boys look into whether it is feasible to develop a camera that is activated by light or motion and that takes repeated images of the things before it so long as that light or motion exists? We would like such watchful eye for security. Finally, we have been told that a young man is interested in creating small miniature models of your household goods and vehicular products for sale as toys. He has suggested that you might include them as little gifts which could be included with purchases. I am not too certain about the idea, but it is your business and I thought you might like to hear about it.
Oh, and we must inform you we lost a leg recently and now have a new dog.
Yours,
Sa Hauhkuno af þis Raikh af hize Dalin, Haimfaðs þata Mattman Robertsunus af hize Dalin en Goþijin

"So a Mr Cannon-Brookes is it? Wonderful come in come in! Have a seat, have a cup of coffee kind sir, do you want sugar with it? Mr Godwinson, please provide me and our guest with a coffee with sugar." After hurling a barrage of words that seemed to combine into a pure stream of advertising jargon and the coffee had arrived Yerkes finally said "so, where were we, I believe you are here with an interest in my cameras yes?"

"Ahhh, yes!" Replied Brookes, grateful that they were on track. "This new 'Box Camera' which you have designed is ingenious! Well, the film is, the camera itself is rather simple, which is actually incredibly impressive in itself."
Brookes put down the barely touched coffee he had been given, "Several examples of your new camera made it to Narunar and I was lucky enough to get my hands on one directly. Frankly, I have never seen anything like it in my entire career in the industry! It is going to revolutionise the business and whoever gets in first is going to have an immense advantage in the years to come, be it in brand recognition or technological development. As such I have rushed over here to ask if you would be willing to sell my company the rights to the production and sale of both the camera and the film within Narunar."

Yerkes thought deeply about what the Brooks fellow had offered, which he realised would be an opportunity to no longer be beholden to the Guilds and Unions that were dominant in the Association, as such he decided to make an offer. "Alright, I think that would be beneficial for both of us, but I must first set out the terms, firstly your company would have to pay mine the fees for the tooling, licensing and such as is usual, but due to the unique value of this groundbreaking film, I'm going to have to ask for 25% of the profits. Considering you'll almost certainly be making a lot of profits anyway, you should be fine to pay us back for being so generous with this technology. Besides these requirments, you are free to develop your film technology how you see fit and you have complete control of distribution and sales in Narunar, which I think is only fair. Do we have an agreement Mr Brookes?"

Ordinarily he would have tried to haggle down the percentage cut, but this was not a normal situation. With the intelligence services paying, most of the costs would be offloaded to them, making the asking price far more affordable than it seemed. Still trying to look like he had been punched in the gut, while actually mentally counting the money he was going to make off this deal, he replied, "You drive a hard bargain Mr Yerkes, but I'm afraid I must accept your offer."

Your men will not need any new development chemicals so I will not have to have that arranged. I can also send you a Colston device for your men to experiment with using as we have one spare. I will look into the possibility of developing a motion triggered camera for security purposes and will get back to you on it. Yours, The Right Honourable First Councillor Dyson Yerkes
