Dear Mr Martinez,
We are currently looking to develop a lovely boat for the purposes of patrolling the Ringsea to protect trade from any privateer who is acting too cocky, as well as other larger vessels that may threaten our interests. Given our long history of technology sharing, if you believe you have a technology that could help with finding unscrupulous individuals at sea in difficult visibility conditions, we will graciously give you access to some classified files on the technology on use in this Boat.
Yours faithfully,
Admiral Lewis
To: Admiral of the Sheenish Fleet, Lewis
I am writing in response to your letter dated the 21st Snaiwaz, 1211, regarding your request for technology sharing. I appreciate your interest in developing a lovely boat for patrolling the Ringsea and protecting trade from any threats. As you know, we have a long history of cooperation and friendship between our nations. We value your trust and support in various matters of mutual interest and benefit. We are always willing to explore new opportunities for collaboration and exchange.
In this regard, I am pleased to inform you that we have a technology that could help with finding unscrupulous individuals at sea in difficult visibility conditions. It is called blind-sight, it uses sound waves to detect objects underwater by measuring their distance, direction, speed, and shape. We have been using blind-sight for various purposes, such as basic navigation, detecting naval mines, research, and as a sonic weapon. We have developed different types of sonar systems, such as active sight (which emits sound pulses and listens for echoes) and passive sight (which listens for sounds made by other sources and is what you should be used to with hydrophones).
We believe that blind-sight technology could be useful for your lovely boat project. It could help you locate and identify any potential enemies or intruders in the Ringsea, especially when visibility is low due to weather or darkness. It could also help you avoid any obstacles or hazards underwater that could damage your boat or endanger your crew. We are willing to share our blind-sight technology with you under certain conditions. In exchange for access to some classified files on the technology on use in your boat, we would like access to some classified files on the design and performance of your submarine. We would also like assurance that you will not use our blind-sight technology against us.
If you agree with these terms, please let me know as soon as possible so that we can proceed with the necessary arrangements. I hope that this offer will strengthen our relationship and enhance our security and prosperity.
Sincerely,
Hebiðdräkh af Kreg, Hugo Martinez
Dear Mr Martinez, Hebiðdräkh af Kreg,
I deem your terms acceptable, please find attached with this letter copies of the classified documents on this new boat as well as the documents on the design and performance of the Subnauticus II. I can also confirm that as long as the Association and Raikh are on good terms, your technologies will not be used in anger agaisnst your people, and I doubt there will ever be a situation where the Association or the Raikh will ever find a war with one another savoury.
Sincerly,
Admiral Lewis.
