In an effort to move away from coal based energy due to shortages, the General Government and the Prince Regent's council has initiated the Energy Security Commission, who will be responsible to seek out new stores of fuels within the Empire to make use of. Already the commission has found promising results for oil reserves within the Drakian Heights and potentially off the shores of the Empire. The Commission has authorization to utilize the private sector to contract out government lands and holdings for the use of energy production and refinement. The ESC shall also be working in conjunction with various staff and departments at the State University of Altair, both in terms of chemicals, geography, and so on, the military has also been instructed to help the commission in whatever way possible, as decreed by the Prince Regent. This commission is of beneficial use to the Empire by securing energy independence allowing the Emperor and his government to properly comport themselves on the international stage. The commission will continue to seek out and secure Prussoian energy for Prussoian subjects.

Along the shorelines of tributaries to both Iacon, Sorsu, and Dorn rivers, ample reserves of oil have been discovered in the northern marches and in the southern regions around Cyanne and Grand Treamier. New drilling and refining equipment are being produced and built while drilling equipment has been shipped to the most promising locations, north of Herkall, and numerous locations along the Drakian Heights on the southern border.

Rregional Governor, Marc Mitzer, and the regional diet of the IVth administrative zone, the County of Treamier, have put forth a persuasive argument for the construction of a state of the art hydroelectric dam and power plant on the West Sorsu Rv. for the purposes of plentiful power and an increase in industrial growth within the County. The Prince Regent and his officials in the Ministry of Energy, Fuel and Power must confer to resolve whether to put this ambitious, but expensive, plan in to action. The turn to hydroelectric power on such a scale would be contrary to former interests and actions in favor of the oil and gas industry.
