Magdali World Tour, in the waters near Sadalen:
The Magdali Tour fleet set off from West Thosel Cransconia, towards Sadalen. The two Afonsus-Class Dreadnoughts destined for delivery made a line ahead of the fleet, manned by a skeleton crew of sailors. Isabel had taken the Captain's quarters of the rear Dreadnought, and had been preparing herself for the landing. Dressed in a military garb befitting her Station as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Isabel wore a dark blue uniform, with golden highlights and trousers, of the same color.
"Your Majesty, we have arrived." "Excellent. Ready the guard, I want to leave this ship as soon as it is possible. Have we sent word to the Cransnikov Estate?" "Yes, we have. Everything from our part is set up and ready for arrival. Now we just expect the Sadaler reception. I'll notify the guards at once." "Good, you are dismissed."

Seeing the big ships come into port was the better part of thirteen-hundred men. Most were there to run the land-side operations of unloading the crews and carrying out inspections, but a fair few were simply meant to look pretty for the cameras. As the formerly Magdali warship was brought to dock and the gangways were set up, the band was set to play the anthem of the visiting monarch. A nice lush carpet was set out for her, heavy tables set up on it, and velvet ropes to indicate the proper direction to travel once things were down.
Members of the admiralty waited patiently to greet the monarch in her costume and her officers before then proceeding with the handover ceremony and the signing of papers to formalise receipt. The ship presently docked was then renamed 'so Aiwspeþs' in honour of its long voyage. With the more important aspects of the visit dealt with, the party were escorted indoors to immigration.
A series of men were sat at desks with little flags which they could raise and lower to indicate if they were seeing anyone, gathered before them were entry permits, clipboards, declaration forms, and health declarations.
With the Queen Isabel being the most important, she was naturally first to go up. She was brought to the most comfortable of the stations and on the desk was a little plaque reading 'Customs & Immigration Station 3, Hogarth Jansen'.
'Name, age, occupation, and purpose for your visit? Also, please fill out these forms in black or blue ink, not red nor green. Pencil is likewise not allowed.'
He gave her the blank entry permits to fill in and the declaration forms. Ever the professional, he retrieved two shot glasses and a bottle of liquor before saying a very loud and obvious prayer over the alcohol and then pouring out the drink for her and himself. While she might be a visiting dignitary, he would ensure she passed basic immigration standards.
As he did this, he noticed that she had already filled out the health declaration. Reading it over he got a pained look deep in his eyes as he realised he would be going into full quarantine after this. He wrote down a note and flagged down a runner to deliver it to his superior.
'I am afraid to inform you, that you are going to be required to undergo full quarantine and sterilisation procedures before entering the Raikh proper. If you have only been to one country outside of the Raikh and there are no health advisories for that country or general health advisories in effect, you only need a fifteen day quarantine to enter the Raikh. If any of those things are not true, as has been written here, you have to go through the full forty days.'
Hearing footsteps approaching his desk, he switched to making introductions.
'These gentlemen have been assigned to take care of you and run errands for you during your quarantine, they are your dogsbodies.'
'Hey, I'm Larij, this is my brother Darryl and this is my other brother Darryl.'

The Empress was indeed the first to leave the gangplank out into the harbor. She witnessed the exchange ceremony, and greeted the local authorities. She was then signaled to head into the immigration office.
Isabel sat down at the chair, and quickly wrote down what was necessary on the papers. While she still had some sliver of hope that full quarantine would not be necessary, she had already arrived forewarned by her Father-In-Law. She was already braced for the worst.
"Ah, I feared that would be the case. No matter, we will simply have to wait. We have received permission from the Cransnikovs to make use of their Estate on the meantime." Seeing the men come in, she did her best to hide her frustration and put on a diplomatic smile. "A pleasure to meet you, gentlemen. I hope you don't mind being accompanied by my personal guard I assure they're quite interesting company. Oh, and don't think I've forgotten the drink. Thank you, you are very kind. Captain, remind me to mail this man a bottle of our finest Verdelho when we return home."
"Certainly your Majesty. Duly noted."

The Empress was subjected to a forty day stay on the lovely Tholish estate, with all the amenities that entailed. She languished in luxury as she was fed fresh haddock with lemons and salad on fine porcelain plates with silverware of the finest make. She writhed in agony whenever she slept, for the beds were decked in six-hundred thread sheets with soft down pillows and woollen blankets knitted from finest kashmere. When she grew used to these tortures, she would invariably be brought out by one of her gaolers to engage in constitutionals or games of horse polo, to then be serenaded as she was fed that most base of foods, oyster soup, while reclining on a bed of pillows and a blanket under the sky. Her evenings were similarly taken up by reading of poetry, books on chivalry, and listening to an odd man in colourful clothing singing about epic affairs and history, as well as coming up with witty rhymes.
When she retired to her chambers once more, she would be left to play with boxes of jewellery, jewels, and silks. If those activities were not enough, she would be brought out to the ponds to see fish and frogs and other wet beasts, with a nice gazebo and seats nearby for quiet isolation. Beyond that, weapons of all sorts were made available to her and alcohol and fresh honey too, with bags of feathers ready at hand though surely she would not seek to combine these elements together. If she were so inclined, she would inevitably find the kennels filled with many hunting dogs and nearby to the kennels falcons. Finally, should her exercises and tribulations not be great enough, she was free to engage in gaming with whatever she could find in the lounge.
Her's was a world of true misery for those forty days.

Isabel spent the next 40 days abiding with Sadalen's quarantine laws. Unfortunately this meant being confined to the Cransnikov Estate, but thankfully there was plenty to do. She spent most of her time reading and and exploring the gardens, but she did allocate some time to spar with her guards, and race on horseback whoever accepted the challenge. She proved to be a good rider, winning most of the races. She proved to not be as good of a duelist as she was a rider, though such was to be expected. Her guards were formidable fencers. All in all, Isabel managed to keep herself entertained and sane throughout her stay at the estate. She even taught some of the Sadaler servants in the kitchens some Magdali recipes. Portrait of the Empress, lounging at the Estate's Library.

With the quarantine completed and no deaths, the Empress was taken from the Tholish estate and loaded onto a train with her own private car. After a day or travelling south, she was finally in the capital of Blairhaim and was met by a royal coach and some soldiers. She was in turn escorted to the Sluut, which was now located in an inner walled city. To arrive there, she had to go through one outer and one inner checkpoint, each time the vehicle was inspected and the identities of all were confirmed. The administrative district was surrounded by fortress walls made of red brick, with sloped embankments. There were armed guards and barriers at all entrances designed to make it impossible for a vehicle to crash through, with the gateways having two combination sets of heavy metal gates and portcullises. Shooting positions were well hidden but present.
Once at the entrance to the Sluut, her baggage was taken aside and searched for any weapons or explosives. She was issued an itemised baggage claim ticket and informed that she would have her things delivered to her rooms after inspection, though those items which were of immediate importance were inspected first so she might take them with her right away. She was then led aside into a booth with an odd glass hole in it and asked to be seated on the bench. Behind her were height lines and numbers and before her was a sign telling her to look directly ahead into the glass. She then heard a voice asking her to stop smiling and to hold still. After flash of light, she was told she may exit.
With that done, her person was not searched and immediately they asked her to surrender her weapons. She naturally handed over her revolver and was then given a cursory inspection before finally being allowed through with a small dog and some alcohol. She was now taken to the throne room where she did not have to wait, for the schedule had been cleared for her. Entering the room, she saw the Hauhkuno, his wives, his slave-empress, and some odd looking Magdali knights all present, though only the Hauhkuno and family sat on a raised dais and there was a seat next to his open for his husband.
She was given leave to approach the dais after giving a curtsey and was allowed to present her gifts, which were then taken by servants once receiving approval. With the formalities out of the way, the Hauhkuno rose from the Swersgesat and went to her along with his wife, Margarida. They then went to a hall where food was laid out and enjoyed a private reception in her honour.
After a few days of pleasant company and campanionship as well as catching up with family, she was offered the chance to pay her respects to the Hauhkuno Vauhoks. She naturally accepted and set off up the mountain with a guide and the Hauhkuno. She was rather vigorous in this exercise and ascended swiftly without issue, though her guide did so more slowly with the Hauhkuno. Once at the tomb, she and the Hauhkuno sat vigil for four days without fire nor sleep. Though both suffered, one did so much worse than the other. Haimfaðs' leg burned and then became numb and finally heavy, but he refused to quit the vigil while she remained. On the fourth day they finished it, but his leg was too far gone. Adjusting his position and removing his sword, he began hacking away at it to cut off the blackened flesh. The guide aided him once he started losing strength and helped tend to the wound.
In her desire to see Hauhkuno Vauhoks, the Empress left that commotion alone and went to the boulder which sealed the tomb. With a wide stance and a great deal of determination, she began a heroic struggle to lift that boulder which was placed by ten men. Though she strained against it, she could not lift it and she lost her breath. But before she did, she swore she had felt it start to give way. Choosing that one attempt was enough, she returned and began the descent down the mountain with her companions.

Catching up to her companions, she looked upon her brother-in-law, who was admittedly having a much worse time than she was.
"My God, that wound, we must reach the foot of the mountain as fast as possible!" she said. "I may help carry you down, while our guide races ahead to call for a medic, or I can race down myself. My guards were instructed to be at the ready in case we required assistance."
In any case, Isabel opened up her pack, and took out a bottle of Magdali firewater, presenting it to the Hauhkuno. "Here, this will dull the pain for now."
With the decision made, Isabel took hold of the crippled Hauhkuno, and the guide raced down to get help. While Isabel tried to make as much haste as she possibly could, the guide arrived with her guards to meet her halfway down the mountain. The Sadaler Emperor, half dazed from the alcohol and the blood loss, was put on a stretcher, and carried by her guards down the mountain.
Isabel made sure to stay nearby the Hospital that the Hauhkuno had been sent to. While she could not be of much help, she thought it was only reasonable thing to do in a situation like this. With the days passed and the Emperor back in the Sluut, final negotiations on the matters of trade were struck, and Isabel officially presented her motion to join the trade half of the Hansa. With time for a few more pleasantries, she stayed with her sister on her last day of the visit.
"I trust Haimfaths has been treating you well? I never got the chance to apologize... We had to make big concessions on that damn treaty." Said Isabel, while bot sat down on a more secluded part of the Sluut for tea.
"Oh don't worry. The Sadaler may appear barbaric, but they're loving people, in their own, exotic way. Haimfaths is as caring and good of a husband as I would have gotten back at home." Said Margarida, gently caressing the cheek of one of her younger children. "I know that war was tough. Like Father used to say, it was just business. No hard feelings. Hopefully I can convince him to return the visit one day. Our bullfights are certainly something that would fascinate most of the people here."
"Anyhow, I guess I ought to be going. Duty calls." Isabel said, sighing heavily.
"Sister, take care, and don't worry too much." She said. "I'm sure Father's looking at us with a proud smile on his face, wherever he is. You're an amazing leader, and I couldn't have asked for a better sister. Now go! Sheen awaits."
The Empress ten returned to her transport vessel, to be transported to her next destination on her tour, the Associated cities. The farewell ceremony was a lot less grandiose as when she had arrived, but that was to be expected. Haimfaths' accident in the mountain had delayed her, and most of the preparations had gone through without being used. Still, a small group of soldiers paraded on the docks as a show of gratitude for the hospitality, and the Empress was allowed to board the vessel bound for the Port of Sheen.

As the Royal vessel headed towards the entrance of the great port, they were hailed over the radio by the Port authority to await their tugs and that a Port Pilot would be arriving to navigate the vessel to the correct jetty. As the ship was slowly brought in, the Empress was given a 31 gun salute in honour of her arrival. At the Jetty awaiting the Empress was First Councillor Dyson Yerkes and the Lord Mayor of the City of Sheen himself, Mr Garend Marston. Sheenish troops surrounded the pair armed with new Prototype firearms.

The VIM Mary of Fátima was tugged into place, the Empress and her husband Hengist prepared themselves for greeting the Sheenish. While she had never officially visited the Association, she had already indeed already purchased a house formerly owned by the current First Councilor, and had been more than curious about how these people lived. Frankly, she was probably more exited to visit than the Seenish were to receive her. "Your Majesty, the transport is ago. We are at your command." Said an aide, opening the doors to the couple's chambers. "Outstanding. Start up the car, we'll be on the gangplank shortly." The gangplank lowered, and out of it came two lines of guards. From between the two lines leisurely walked out the Empress and her consort, both dressed in a ceremonial garb. Though Isabel had replaced the RAF uniform with a dress. The Sheenish were less... squeamish on matters pertaining to women, and thus she felt it unnecessary to display her resolve. While the pair walked along to greet the Sheenish Leaders, a custom-built Rolls Coyce, designed for transporting the Empress and her entourage, slowly drove through the gangplank and into the sidelines, facing the city. "Your Majesty, First Councilor Mister Dyson Yerkes, and the Lord Mayor of Sheen, Mister Garend Marston." Said the Captain of the guard, signalling the others to let the Empress through. "Well, here we finally are, thank you for having us. It is a pleasure to finally get to meet both of you." She said. "I've long awaited this visit, though events kept... delaying us."

"Indeed it is good that you have finally been able to visit in an official manner, I believe we haven't spoken in person since your marriage to Prince Hengist, I hope your marriage is well?" Asked Marston. Yerkes tagged on; "Furthermore, I hope we can consolidate our long running good relations, I must also let you know that my own airline is almost ready with that most pleasant gift you bestowed to me during the Great War, if you stay for long enough you may be able to see the first trip leave for Morthal, which will certainly be a very profitable route once fully established"

"We've both been through some tough patches, but were doing well enough." She said, taking a moment to glance at her husband and share a smile. "It's been that long already? I simply must see the children. I'm sure they're all grown up."
The Emperor Consort turned and signaled a guard, who produced from a bag two sets of Collars and rings, of the Order of Christ. "Here, we present the both of you with these Collars and Rings. Let them symbolize our long-standing friendship, and our desire to continue prospering together. You are now both Knights of the Order of Christ." Said the Empress. "Plus, there'll always be a room ready for you at the Palace in Magalhães. Enjoy the perks!"
Yerkes replied on receiving his Collar and Ring; "This is most gracious of you your highness, I'll be sure to visit. And as a symbol of our desire to continue our people's friendship, I have arranged for a royal coach to take you from place to place without hindrance."
"Something that will be quite helpful with getting to the Mansion House through the Old City's streets, as that is where Lily and Renard are today," Marston replied, "Elena just brought them up from fishing last night."
"Ah, well we had brought our own vehicle. Well I suppose we can use it when I go visit my Estate in the Dauthsaiws." She said, signaling the Driver to not wait for them, but to simply tail the carriage. "Well then, shall we?"

With the First Councillor, the Lord Mayor and the Empress aboard the coach, the coach headed off along streets lined on either side with Citizens of the Association cheering for the arrival of Isabel to the City of Sheen. The coach took them past the Guildhall, and then past the Hall of Saddlers, which Marston, a member of the Guild, happily pointed out. Marston continued to talk about how his son Renard had become interested in becoming a member of the Guild of Saddlers, and about how his daughter Lily had been involved in the Universal Suffrage Movement. Yerkes pointed out along the way on the other hand all the buildings he owned. "Well, this is it, the Mansion House."

"Oh my, this is lovely! I've long thought about constructing a palace closer to the city, but after the incident in Divinum, we've come to appreciate having some distance between us and the city."
"That is understandable, usually a Lord Mayor is not supposed to reach the prominence of royalty, so we are not so worried with such incidents, given the fact that our terms are only a year as well"
"Well, that is perfectly understandable." She said, turning waiting for the aide to open up the carriage. "Our Architectural styles differ, but the common subtle traits of some Latin influence are there. Truly most fascinating." She said, letting Hengist leave the carriage first, who then in turn helped her descend to the ground.
Seeing the people cheering her arrival, despite their differences was truly a thing of wonder. There was no doubt that the relations between the Association and the Imperium were flourishing. Isabel made sure to turn towards the crowd, and to smile and blow a kiss. The instructors of her youth back home would've probably berated her for the hideous breach of Imperial etiquette, but they were not here, were they?
Gladly seeing the approval his constituents had of the Empress, Yerkes came out of the carriage next, waving to the crowd, and getting a mixture of boos and cheers, with Yerkes egging the crowd on in both cases, though with Marston's appearance, all notions of hate that had been shown to Yerkes had died down and the cheers returned, as the popular Mayor went to the door to welcome the Empress into his home.
At the door, they were greeted by Jeeves, Marston's Butler, who then took them to Marston's study where Lily, Renard, and Elena awaited them.
Isabel thanked the Lord Mayor for opening the door for her. The Marstons were very accommodating, she felt as if she was visiting the house of and old friend. Lilly and Renard told her tales of their exploits in the Sheenish countryside, and chatting over a chalice of Port with Elena was almost as comforting as sitting in her own study and chatting over coffee with General de Sousa's children. She told the children her own tale, of conquering the Sadaler Mountains, and nearly moving the great boulder by herself. While they spent time at the Marston Household, she couldn't help but be reminded of her late Father. Old Afonso certainly would've enjoyed this gathering. After all, he was the one who first made overtures with the Sheenish. It is a shame he passed so soon, but alas, it is what it is. She could, at least, rest easy knowing that in a way, her good relations with the Marstons was carrying on her old man's legacy.
