An official letter has been sent to the city of Blairhaim, capital of the Empire of Sadalen.
The letter has been adorned with the flag and shield of the Confederated Kingdoms of Narunar and Alcamecao.
The letter has been addressed to "Sa Hauhkuno af þis Raikh af hize Dalin, Haimfaðs þata Mattman Robertsunus af hize Dalin en Goþijin" or "The High-King of the Realm of the Valleys, Haimfaðs þata Mattman Robertsunus af hize Dalin en Goþijin"

Letter reads as follows:

"Four years ago, one ship or several, reports are unclear, now known to be from the Empire of Sadalen appeared off the north coast of the Island of Amneaba in the Kailano Islands. Before our navy could assemble a force to intercept, these ships had brutally raided and destoryed at least three villages inhabited by citizens of the Confederation of Narunar, and promptly fled north. These towns held no miliary value or purpose, no army or navy forces belonging to the Confederation of Narunar were in the area, and no valid reason for this callous attack can be made.
In this attack, fifty (50) people have been confirmed dead with at forty-five (45) confirmed missing, presumably captured and enslaved or killed.

This is official notice that the government and people of The Confederated Kingdoms of Narunar and Alcamecao hereby demand the return of any persons kidnapped or enslaved during this raid, monetary compensation to the amount of two-hundered and fifty-nine (259) ounces of gold (equivalent to ~172 Thalers) in compensation for every person killed or enslaved, and, should he have survived the Duom War, the extradition of the leader of the Sadalen naval force for trial in the Confederation of Narunar.

Failure to comply with these demands will result in severe punishments against the Empire of Saladen. If no response is heard within a two (2) week period it will be assumed that the Empire of Sadalen has refused these demands, and as actions will be made accordingly.

This is to be our first and only letter of demands. If it is not met, there will be no second chances.

To the men of the south,

Greetings and well-wishes.

We can confirm that an altercation occurred around this time at the Andal Islands, presumably your Kailano Islands, though we believe your information regarding it to be incomplete and the reports you have received to be of a less than accurate nature.

During the journey that led elements of so Wisteins Fermeigswäʔoflutt to head south, the ships so Silan Wahtwa (01-KSlS), so Andiggs Gedweola (10-KKtS), and so Leitilsflauhaz (11-KKtS) and their two-hundred and fifty marines made to resupply and take on fresh water on your islands. Shortly after having dropped anchor, the vessels were approached by natives in boats and came under attack. These attacks led to no deaths amongst the ships' companies due to the nature of the weaponry used, mostly bows, and slings, with a few firelocks, but several injuries were sustained by this unprovoked attack. It is with this contact that the late and honourable Fluttkatilfaðs Urien Gul ordered a retaliatory strike against the natives, as they had proven themselves uncivilised and hostile to peaceful co-existence.

We are told that the attacks were carried out with the utmost efficiency and by the Kregjen and that a total of sixty slaves were taken, with only thirteen men injured. Following this our ships departed, but did not flee north, but rather continued their course and mission and sailed south and passed the peninsula which we are told they named 'de Hoek'. Of the slaves taken, half of them were gifted to the Dunwikki and the other half were killed by the savage and barbaric people of Niujis Respijt in an unprovoked attack which led to the Great War.

It is with this understanding that we must make an apology to you for the attack on your subjects and that we will offer you sixty slaves in return for the sixty taken, but we must refuse the rest of your demands. We would be more than happy to make gifts of spices, woods, cloths, and metals, but the amount you demand is too high for what was ultimately a deserved reprisal and the men that carried out the attack did so accordance with the best traditions of justice in mind. In total, we wish to offer you two-hundred and eight (208) Thaler and four (4) Schillinge by way of Lord-Payment for those killed, but we can not in good conscious offer you any in Blodgild, for the deaths were ultimately just.

"So they have refused our terms then?" Arnold Colston-Westbrook looked up from the papers he had been working on.

"Yes Prime Minister, while they have offered limited concessions in gold and spices, their offering is far less than we had requested. They are offeing a total amount slighly above what we asked for a single person." replied foreign minister Daniel Taylor. "They claim that their ships were attacked by 'natives armed with bows and arrows' and that they 'honourably defended themselves, and conducted a retaliatory strike.'"

The Prime Minister's hand visibly tightened around the pen he had been holding, the only currently visible sign of the immense anger he was feeling. He responded tersely, "Anything else?"

"They refer to the commander of the squadron 'the late' Fluttkatilfaðs Urien Gul, so he is presumably dead. Hopefully it was painful and long. Furthermore they have offered to send sixty slaves, equivalent to the number taken, as further compensation."

"They. Offered. What?" The Prime Minister's entire body was visibly tense, and he had risen slightly out of his chair.

"Slaves, Sir. They offered us sixty slaves." Taylor responded, bracing himself.

Outside the office, the Secretary to the Prime Minister, a woman named Stella Edmondston, was preparing the paperwork for the next meeting, scheduled in ten minuites, when she heard a loud bang emanate from the Prime Ministers office.

Inside, the Prime Minister had fully left his chair and slammed his fist down onto his desk, "Who do these barbarous savages take us for? Themselves? Do they think we are like them? Do they think we have morals as base as theirs? They refuse our every demand and offer us SLAVES?"

It was at this point that the main door opened slightly and the secretary's head breifly appeared, scanning the room, before retreating having made sure nobody was lying dead on the floor.

The Prime Minister continued, not having noticed, "Those... bastards are going to pay for this insult! We must assemble the ministers immediately, we need to announce our response. STELLA!"

The secretary one again opened the door, but fully this time, taking a step into the room, "Yes Sir?"

The Prime Minister continued quickly, "Clear my schedule for the day and send a notice to the ministers, we will be meeting immediately. Also, tell the cheifs of staff to assemble here by 3pm this afternoon."

"I will do so immediately!" Stella responded, quickly bowing and leaving the room.

"Taylor, stay here, we will need to discuss things further." The prime minister said, turning back to his forerign minister.

"Yes we will sir. What a predicament we are in." Taylor said softly, sitting down across the table from the Prime Minister.

"Yes it is... Yes it is." The Prime Minister replied, collapsing into his seat and sighing.

It was the beginning of a very long day.
