Grüße und herzlich willkommen!
So, you wish to start playing in the world of Victrix? Well first we need to go over some basics before you can get your toes wet. This is effectively a cooperative world building exercise more so than a game of paint the map. We care more about the interactions, lore, and writing than the wars and 'winning'. Really, 'winning' does not exist as a concept and it is up to you to find your fun. Oh, and you are going to want to make a forum account so as to be able to edit your messages.
1. Expansions are done for narrative purposes primarily, but you must be active for about a month before we can consider them. These require effort in some way. They can either be to reward effort put in for other things (simpler expansion) or require you to write a great deal about the process to gain them (more complex), as we really do not want people blobbing the map.
2. You shall need a factbook in all likelihood to get started. This is meant to give people an idea of what they are dealing with, as well as a place for you to dump information about your country and add more fluff to it. While not strictly necessary, it really does help others and facilitates the role-playing, as well as it makes things easier for you. What you shall need is a name, a population, a general idea of your government, and maybe some religious and cultural data for extra fun. With that, you are ready to go! That said, economic data is fairly crucial for military stuff and so is actually knowing how many ships and men you have in your military. Try to sort these out before doing any player wars.
3. Map spots are asked for by going onto the forums and posting in the map applications thread of the Map Room. If you give us a colour and a shape, we will try to keep as close to that as possible, though we will cut things down to size if they are too large.
4. Finally, ask questions on the Discord in #out-of-character-roleplay-discussion or message the Imperium Divinium (or whoever is in charge of moderating roleplay) about any questions you have. Especially message the Imperium for things such as technologies, plants, or elements that do not exist or might be too advanced or things which might give you an unfair advantage. You are not necessarily going to be rejected, but it is necessary.
With that done, welcome to the group and we hope you enjoy your time with us.
