Confederation of Narunar
(Map shows the Union of Drusskia in yellow, The Union of Narunar in orange, and the The Kaskader Consitiutional Republic in green) Cities of Narunar
Overview
The Confederation of Narunar, or officially The Confederated Kingdoms of Narunar and Alcamecao, is a young Constitutional Republic on the western coast of the continent of Itiomoya. The nation is famed for its harsh southern mountains and large chromium deposits, the latter of which have allowed the nation to become a leading exporter of high quality, high strength iron alloys, and dyes. While King Raymond Paul Albrecht David of house Westbrook is officially the head of state, he only holds a largely ceremonial position, with the elected office of Prime Minister, currently held by Arnold Colston-Westbrook, being the prime source of state power. Like the King, the nobility also holds little direct sway over the running of the kingdom, although many nobles have been employed in ambassadorial positions to nearby kingdoms, with others entering politics. There are four branches of government. The Executive branch
Houses the office of the Prime Minister who is elected from members of the legislative assembly by national popular vote. The candidates for Prime Minister are any members of the party which holds the most seats in the legislative assembly. Legislative Branch
“Lesser Council of Ministers” or “Council of Lesser Ministers”
The Lesser Council of Ministers has roots back almost two hundred years when it and the Upper Council were created as advisory bodies to King Joseph II of house Randing. It has since gone through many changes and iterations but is today a democratically elected institution with one-hundred and twenty-seven (127) representatives. The purpose of this body is to create, vote on, and transfer bills to the Upper Council for final approval as well as creating the budget, and other miscellaneous tasks in order to run the republic. There is no term limit for member of the Lesser Council. “Upper Council of the Legislative Assembly”
The Upper Council of the Legislative Assembly is made up of state governors (known as Commissioners) which are elected to represent each of the seven major administrative districts within the republic. The Prime Minister and the King are also members of the council, however the King, since the Supremacy of the Councils, remained absent. The Upper Council has the authority to approve, deny, delay, or request addendums or other changes to the bills sent to them by the Lesser Council. The Upper Council itself cannot bring forward bills itself but it is common practice for bills introduced by Lesser Council members to have been partially written or sponsored by Commissioners. Furthermore all budgetary bills are automatically passed by the Upper Council with no opportunity for debate. The term limit for the Upper Council is three terms. Voting Method
Members for any legislative district or district commissioner are elected by party in first a past the post method, but individual candidates within the parties are elected in a preferential voting fashion. This also applies to the election of the Prime Minister which occurs at least two weeks after the legislative election or after the vote has been codified. Example
John is voting in legislative district 1C. John first votes for his party of preference, The National integrity party. John then picks his preferred candidates for the district from this party, either Lyon Johnson as his first pick first or Timothy Sandbrook as his second, and Andrew Hoffman as his third.
Two weeks later, John then picked his preferred candidates for Prime Minister from the winning party, the party with the most legislative seats won during the election, the Unity Party. John picked the more conservative William Friedrich as his first choice, party frontrunner George Endmondston second, and left wing candidate Desmond Dawes as his third.Elections are held every five years, with the election taking place one and a half months before the end of the previous governments term in office. Since "The Declaration of the Superiority of the Council of Ministers" sixty years ago the socially conservative National Integrity Party and the free market Unity Party have been the largest parties within both councils, traditionally trading places with each other each election. The last election in 1904 saw the National Integrity Party under Arnold Colston-Westbrook, a distant relative of the King, win their second election in a row by a narrow margin. Judicial Branch “His Highness’ Supreme Council”
Acts as a ‘supreme court’ and is the highest legal authority within the land. This court was originally part of the Royal branch of government until 60 years ago when it was shifted into its own branch after the crisis of 1845. The Council is made up of thirteen members, most of whom have experience in lower branches of the Judicial system, some being former Commissioners or representatives, and one former member being an ex-Prime Minister. While there are no specific requirements to become a member of the Supreme Council, members have traditionally been drawn from former members of government with long service records and spotless records. All commissioners except the King, who is an honorary member who has never used his power to vote, serve for fifteen year terms with no opportunity for reelection. Various Lower Courts
There are many other lower courts within the Republic, from travelling judges who attend to the crimes of petty criminals in towns too small to have their own courthouse or permanent judge, to the pomp and circumstance of the Capital Court, who may deal with the largest crimes yet seen within the republic. Despite the immense variation in specific circumstance, all judges use the same code of laws passed down since ‘The Codification’ one hundred and fifty years ago by Queen Vanessa VIII with little alteration. Royal Branch
The Royal branch is a vestige of the monarchical period and has little power within the government. Many organisations and bureaus which are still semi officially seen as part of the Royal Branch having been administratively moved to other branches of government. His Highness’ supreme Council is an excellent example of this, with the council still being ‘overseen’ by the king but being part of the Judicial Branch. In modern times the Royal Branch is primarily concerned with maintaining the Royal Household and its lands, ensuring the stability of the now powerless nobility, and some diplomatic matters involving the royal family.

Population and Major Cities
The Confederation of Narunar has roughly 15 million inhabitants in almost equal proportion between urban and rural and primarily belonging to the native Narundan people. The countryside is dominated by vast wheat and cattle fields interspersed by uncountable settlements from hamlets, to villages. The cities are, by contrast, vast machines of urbanised, industrialised living.
Over the past several generations several waves of migration have crashed into the borders of Narunar with three large waves of immigration within the last fifty to one hundred years. The first was made up of of Anlae-Alcamecao people, a closely related group to the Narundans, who were fleeing the devastation left by a great famine on the interior of the continent one hundred years ago. These peoples were easily integrated into Narundan culture but many still maintain the ancient traditions of their people. It is unknown how many descendants of the Anlae-Alcamecao people reside within Narunar but censuses have shown that roughly ~20% of the population claim to have Anlae-Alcamecao descendants but this number is likely higher.
The second wave of immigrants were from the former Drusskan Republic/Royal Drusskian Kingdom, now the Union of Drusskia. The brutal civil upheaval, economic downturn, eventual civil war, and subsequent political purges that plagued the Drusskan nation in the mid 20th century led many to flee their homes, a number of which eventually settled in the Confederation of Narunar, primarily in the north-east. Today, after government sponsored integration programs, a vast majority of the descendants of these people (roughly ~2-3 million) have integrated into the Narundan culture with a smaller proportion (~500,000) still holding onto their Drusskan roots.
The third wave is currently in its early stages with some Kaskader people (Kaskadians?) fleeing the growing civil war within their nation. Current refugee numbers are small, only tens of thousands having made it to the borders of Narunar, but if the civil war continues many more civilians will come flooding towards the border.
Population by Culture/Ethnicity
The majority of the population (~80%) consists of Narundan and Anlae-Alcamecao peoples, both being closely related cultures and part of the Greater Corunda cultural and ethnic group.
10% of the population are members of the Apja culture, the native inhabitants of the Kailano Islands, and part of the Lesser Corunda cultural and ethnic group.
A further ~5% of the population are of other smaller Lesser Corunda cultures who primarily live in the hilly, semi-mountainous terrain in the interior of the islands they call home. Because of the unforgiving terrain, development in these areas is lagging behind the rest of the country and these peoples are some of the poorest in Narunar.
The final ~5% of the Narundan population consists of assorted minority groups, the largest being the descendants of Drusskan refugees. An increasingly large number (although still tiny in comparison to the rest of the population) of Latin peoples have been arriving in the kingdom over the last hundred years. Many are recent arrivals are from the Kaskader Constitutional Republic but some have been within the nation for generations.

THE ECONOMY YOU FOOLS!
Over the past hundred years, the Narundan economy has seen unsteady growth. The strain of frequent refugee influxes has created large boom-bust, or more accurately bust-boom cycles within the economy. The strain of feeding and housing refugees sometimes numbering in the millions who arrive almost exclusively with the clothes on their backs and whatever trinkets could not be bartered for food on their long journey to a land to which they have little cultural similarity led to two economic depressions. Even now, with the the Kaskader Civil War ramping up and refugees beginning to arrive at the border, people are beginning to prepare for another depression, although growth has yet to slow. However, after every crisis the economy has bounced back harder than before. The large numbers of refugees, mostly children nearing adulthood and older, more experience adults, have allowed for the rapid expansion of factories and the clearing of land for new farms to feed the rapidly expanding population. This rapid expansion has come at the cost of low-skilled wages with the glut of workers rushing to fill any jobs available. Furthermore, during the waves of immigration the education system struggled to accommodate all the new students, and so levels of education among the newly arrived populations were far lower than that of the national average. This issue has largely been resolved since, and it is not uncommon to see people as old as thirty attending weekend schools in order to increase their employability or gain the skills required to start a business of their own.
The Narundan economy has liberalised greatly since the crisis of 1845, with the final erosion of the power of the nobility, allowing regular citizens to own estates larger than that which a man could plough in a single day. This allowed for many rich individuals who had previously been barred from expanding their businesses to do so without restrictions. Since then, the regulaions on purchasing land, starting a business, and employing workers have steadily decreased. As such, Narunar produces far more finished goods than it requires, most of which are exported.
However, industrialization has come late to the agricultural sector. With the large number of unskilled labourers only decreasing in the last fifteen years, most farms still use manual labour instead of machines for many tasks. The large amounts of new farmland within the nation have further decreased mechanisation by depressing the price of food, making it harder for farmers to afford the new machines. This problem has started to dissipate because of the Kaskader Civil War, with local production being exported to the Kaskadian Republic to offset that lost in the civil war. However it is feared that when that conflict ends, the cycle will simply start anew.
Overall GDP stands at ~550 billion dollars, with major economic activity being in the production of high end iron/steel alloys (including stainless steel and lightweight magnesium alloys), consumer goods and their export, as well as agricultural products and exports. GDP per capita is slightly lower than the average for other industrialised nations but has been slowly catching up over the past fifteen years.

Navy
After the unprovoked raid by the The Empire of Sadalen on the Kailano Island Chain in 1900, a great emphasis has been placed on the importance of a strong, modern navy. As such the Narunan Navy, officially the Royal Alcamecan-Narunar Navy (RANN) is the most powerful on the continent and has undergone a large expansion and modernisation over the past decade, starting even before the raid on the Kailano Islands. The name of the navy reflects its origins, being originally a majority Alcamecan force, with the Narundan component being limited to a few ageing sloops. In the intervening centuries, while the Alcamecan culture has been subsumed into the Narundan culture, the name and traditions of old live on within the fleet. The RANN is known for having some of the best night fighting equipment in the world. While the Navy is still undergoing expansion, significant enlargements and upgrades have been made and many ships have recently been commissioned. Ships of the RANN(To view the images just click on them, they show up really small in the post but are actually a lot bigger) Colossus Class Dreadnaught - 3 in service, 3 under construction - 6 total
The Colossus class represents the epitome of modern dreadnought design and, when completed, will represent some of the most powerful and modern individual warships afloat. While not as fast as some other modern Dreadnaughts, the large calibre main battery and thick armour more than make up for this shortcoming. The ship boasts an anti-torpedo bulge for extra survivability against the increasingly lethal destroyers being fielded and their dangerous undersea weapons. Displacement: 32,000 tonnes Speed: 20 knots (39,398 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~1,300 Armament: Eight 14 inch guns in four turrets, two fore, two aft, in superfiring mounts Range: 18,620 yards (17,026 metres) Sixteen 6 inch guns, 8 port, 8 starboard, in single turrets Range: 11,600 yards (10,607 metres) Eight 3 inch guns, four port, four starboard, in single mounts Range: 8,720 yards (7,974 metres) Two submerged 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Central firing Armour: 14 inch belt 4 inches belt extended 2 inches of deck armour across whole ship 12 inches on primary turret sides/front 3 inches on primary turret top 6 inches of armour on secondary turrets 2 inches on secondary turret top 12 inches of armour on conning tower and bridge No armour on tertiary gun mounts Cost: $603,957,089.08 Maintenance cost: $3,058,378.30/month Build time: 32 months Lesum Class Dreadnaught - 3 in service, 1 lost - 4 total
The Lesum class is the second generation Narundan Dreadnaught. While it boasts fewer main battery cannons than the Colossus class, its secondary and tertiary armaments are of a larger calibre, making it significantly more deadly in closer range engagements. The ship also boasts an anti-torpedo bulge. Displacement: 25,000 tonnes Speed: 20 knots (36,221 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~1,200 Armament: Six 14 inch guns in three turrets, one fore, two aft, in superfiring mounts Range: 18,620 yards (17,026 metres) Fourteen 8 inch guns, 7 port, 7 starboard, in single turrets Range: 12,140 yards (11,101 metres) Twenty-two 5 inch guns, eleven port, eleven starboard, in single mounts Range: 10,700 yards (9,784 metres) Two submerged 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Central firing Armour: 12 inch belt 3 inches belt extended 2.5 inches of deck armour 1 inch of deck extended 10 inches on primary turret sides/front 2.5 inches on primary turret top 4.5 inches of armour on secondary turrets 2 inches on secondary turret top 10 inches of armour on conning tower and bridge No armour on tertiary gun mounts Cost: $504,020,791.98 Maintenance cost: $2,293,279.81/month Build time: 31 months Defence Class Dreadnaught - 2 in service
The defence class is the first generation Narundan dreadnought battleship and as such is beginning to lag behind in capabilities to the more modern dreadnaughts produced by other nations. Despite this, it is still a dangerous adversary for all but the most advanced ships and far surpasses anything the nations on the continent can field. When first produced it was found that the ship was incapable of reaching its 20 knot design speed. This was later corrected with seven of the twelve ships receiving more powerful engines. The ship also lacks a torpedo bulge, making it far more vulnerable to torpedo attack than its more modern counterparts. Displacement: 20,200 tonnes Speed: 19-20 knots (32,230-34,400 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~1,000 Armament: Six 13 inch guns in three turrets, one fore, one amidships, and one aft Range: 17,810 yards (16,286 metres) Fourteen 7 inch guns, 7 port, 7 starboard, in casemates Range: 12,500 yards (11,430 metres) Two submerged 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Central firing Armour: 11 inch belt 3 inches belt extended 2 inches of deck armour 2 inches of deck extended 10 inches on primary turret sides/front 2.5 inches on primary turret top 5 inches of armour on secondary turrets 6.5 inches of armour on conning tower and bridge Cost: $375,500,383.87 Maintenance cost: $1,815,276.08/month Build time: 30 months

Gladdover Class Battlecruiser - 5 in serviceThe Gladdover Class battlecruisers are the fastest capital ships in the Narundan fleet, beating out even the relatively modern Flower Class heavy cruisers. To achieve this speed the Gladdover Class has very little armour when compared to its dreadnought counterparts, and a novel gun layout not seen on any other warship ship afloat. In order to cut down on weight, the ship has its two wing mounted main battery turrets, mounted in such a way which allows them to fire across the deck of the ship, permitting all cannons to fire when roughly parallel to the target. The ship also boasts an anti-torpedo bulge. Displacement: 24,000 tonnes Speed: 25 knots (59,960 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~1,000 Armament: Eight 13 inch guns in four turrets, one fore, one starboard wing, one port aft wing, and one aft Range: 17,810 yards (16,286 metres) Fourteen 6 inch guns, 7 port, 7 starboard, in casemates Range: 11,600 yards (10,607 metres) Eighteen 3 inch guns, nine port, nine starboard, in single mounts Range: 8,720 yards (7,974 metres) Two submerged 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Central firing Armour: 7 inch belt 3 inches belt extended 2 inches of deck armour 1.5 inches of deck extended 9 inches on primary turret sides/front 3 inches on primary turret top 6 inches of armour on secondary turrets 10 inches of armour on conning tower and bridge Cost: $421,735,076.04 Maintenance cost: $2,395,709.18/month Build time: 30 months Domain Class Battleship/Pre-Dreadnought - 3 scrapped, 3 in mothballs awaiting conversion - 6 total
The Domain Class was the mainstay of the RANN before the development of the dreadnought. If a Domain class comes into contact with all except the weaker dreadnaughts fielded it will almost certainly lose, but against other battleships it poses a more than credible threat. Like the Defence class, its immediate successor, the Domain class lacks an anti-torpedo bulge. The ships have undergone several minor refits, including the upgrading of their rangefinding and fire control equipment. Displacement: 16,000 tonnes Speed: 18 knots (20,537 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~900 Armament: Four 12 inch guns in two turrets, one fore, and one aft Range: 17,000 yards (15,545 metres) Sixteen 6 inch guns, 7 port, 7 starboard, in casemates Range: 11,600 yards (10,607 metres) Two submerged 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Central firing Armour: 11 inch belt 4 inches belt extended 2 inches of deck armour 2 inches of deck extended 10 inches on primary turret sides/front 2 inches on primary turret top 5.5 inches of armour on secondary turrets 5.5 inches of armour on conning tower and bridge Cost: $283,740,738.94 Maintenance cost: $1,291,748.18/month Build time: 27 months Flower Class Armoured/Heavy Cruiser - 8 in service (4 cancelled)
The Flower class armoured cruiser is the most modern heavy cruiser design in service with the RANN and is beginning to show its age, despite being only recently constructed. The slow speed, lack of torpedo bulge, and non-superfiring aft turrets make the Flower class severely outmatched in engagements with other armoured cruisers, and weak to torpedo attack. The design itself is essentially an elongated King class heavy cruiser, which, in itself, is an incredibly outdated design. Construction of a new armoured cruiser design has been repeatedly delayed with the promised triple-cannon turrets failing to materialise. In the meantime, ideas to retrofit the Flower class to allow the aft turrets superfiring capabilities have been floated and shot down due to the immense cost. It is expected that the new unnamed class of Armoured Cruiser will begin construction, with or without triple mountings, within the year. Displacement: 13,100 tonnes Speed: 20 knots (23,982 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~900 Armament: Six 10 inch guns in two turrets, one fore, one aft amidships, and one aft Range: 13,760 yards (12,582 metres) Fourteen 6 inch guns, 6 port, 6 starboard, in casemates Range: 11,600 yards (10,607 metres) Two submerged 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Central firing Armour: 6 inch belt 3 inches belt extended 2 inches of deck armour 1 inches of deck extended 6 inches on primary turret sides/front 3 inches on primary turret top 5 inches of armour on secondary turrets 7.5 inches of armour on conning tower and bridge Cost: $242,182,866.89 Maintenance cost: $1,189,318.81/month Build time: 24 months

King Class Armoured Cruiser - 10 scrapped
The King Class Armoured cruiser is a long ageing design which, while similar to the Flower class, is far more dated, only having two main battery turrets. These ships are in dire need of retirement but have been kept on due to the lack of new heavy cruisers. Like the Flower class, the King Class lacks a torpedo bulge. Displacement: 12,000 tonnes Speed: 21 knots (25,739 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~900 Armament: Four 10 inch guns in two turrets, one fore, and one aft Range: 13,760 yards (12,582 metres) Fourteen 6 inch guns, 7 port, 7 starboard, in casemates Range: 11,600 yards (10,607 metres) Four 5 inch guns, two port, two starboard, in single mountings Range: 10,700 yards (9,784 metres) Two submerged 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Central firing Armour: 6 inch belt 3 inches belt extended 2 inches of deck armour 1 inches of deck extended 5 inches on primary turret sides/front 2 inches on primary turret top 2 inches of armour on secondary turrets 5.5 inches of armour on conning tower and bridge Cost: $243,981,071.40 Maintenance cost: $1,173,118.85/month Build time: 24 months Wild Class Light Cruiser - 18 in service
The Wild class is the most modern might cruiser in the RANN and is the first to use dual mount main battery turrets. The ship is faster than the Gladdover class battlecruisers and as such trials are being conducted to see if tandem deployment is viable. While seen by some as somewhat undergunned, the ship is valued for its range and speed. Displacement: 6,500 tonnes Speed: 27 knots (39,352 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~550 Armament: Four 7 inch guns in two turrets, one fore, and one aft Range: 12,500 yards (11,430 metres) Six 5 inch guns, three port, three starboard, in single mountings Range: 10,700 yards (9,784 metres) Two submerged 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Central firing Armour: 2.5 inch belt 2 inches of deck armour 3 inches on primary turret sides/front 2 inches on primary turret top 3 inches of armour on secondary turrets 5.5 inches of armour on conning tower and bridge Cost: $137,966,672.33 Maintenance cost: $751,148.73/month Build time: 21 months Admiral Class Light Cruiser - 13 scapped
The Admiral class light cruisers have recently gone through a significant refit to bring them up to modern standards. Though originally built from 1870-1880, the ships can now achieve a speed of up to 25 knots, far above the original 21 knot design speed. Along with a new engine, the cannons were replaced with more modern models and the main battery armour was increased by ½ an inch and given fully enclosed turrets. Once again, the Admiral class has become a threat on the high seas. Displacement: 6,000 tonnes Speed: 25 knots (26,600 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~500 Armament: Two 7 inch guns in two turrets, one fore, and one aft Range: 12,500 yards (11,430 metres) Twelve 6 inch guns, 6 port, 6 starboard, in casemates Range: 11,600 yards (10,607 metres) Two submerged 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Central firing Armour: 2.5 inch belt 2 inches of deck armour 2.5 inches on primary turret sides/front 2 inches on primary turret top 2 inches of armour on secondary turrets 2.5 inches of armour on conning tower and bridge Cost: $124,064,730.46 Maintenance cost: $739,767.68/month Build time: 20 months

Town Class Light Cruiser - 15 scrapped, one demilitarised and sold
The Town class Light Cruiser is the oldest light cruiser in service and is part way through its retirement process, being replaced by the Wild class. The ships are crewed mainly by trainees and reservists using largely outdated equipment. The final eight ships are expected to be retired within the next few years. Displacement: 6,500 tonnes Speed: 22 knots (24,732 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~450 Armament: Twelve 6 inch guns, one fore, 5 port, 5 starboard, one aft, in single turrets Range: 11,600 yards (10,607 metres) Two submerged 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Central Rangefinder Armour: 3 inch belt 2 inches of deck armour 2 inches on primary turret sides/front 2 inches on primary turret top 2.5 inches of armour on conning tower and bridge Cost: $119,290,383.67 Maintenance cost: $779,601.32/month Build time: 20 months V1 Class Destroyer Leader - 12 total
The V1 Class is the first in a new class of Narundan destroyers. Larger than its N4 and S3 class contemporaries, the V1 class is designed to provide fire control and leadership to a squadron of N4 or S3 destroyers. The N1 mounts a semi-experimental fire control director, allowing for the accurate calculation of range targeting up to three vessels. The N1 is also capable of carrying, and laying ten naval mines. These mines can be either anti-ship or experimental anti-submarine mines depending on the mission requirements. The ship also mounts depth charges for further anti-submarine duties. Displacement: 1,300 tonnes Speed: 32 knots (20,413 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~130 Armament: Three 6 inch guns, two fore in a superfiring configuration, and one aft, in single turrets Range: 11,600 yards (10,607 metres) Three dual mount, above water, centreline 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Fire Director Cost: $24,639,954.27 Maintenance cost: $79,667.29/month Build time: 13 months N4 Class Destroyer - 38 total
The N4 class is a new class of destroyers, and an incremental upgrade to the earlier S3 class. The ship is specifically designed to work with the V1 class destroyer leaders and its engine has been built to reliably maintain top speed for long periods. The ship also mounts depth charges for anti-submarine duties. Displacement: 900 tonnes Speed: 31 knots (15,200 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~100 Armament: Two 4 inch guns, one fore, and one aft, in single turrets Range: 10,780 yards (9,857 metres) Two 3 inch guns, one port, and one starboard, in single turrets Range: 9,592 yards (8,771 metres) Three single mount, above water, centreline 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Local Only Cost: $16,832,559.98 Maintenance cost: $62,595.73/month Build time: 11 months

S3 Class Destroyer - 33 scrapped, 10 mothballed, 5 sold to private byers - 48 total
The S3 class Destroyer is the direct predecessor to the N4 class and has similar, although lesser capabilities. Some ships have been equipped with anti-submarine depth charges, although this upgrade package was discontinued early in implementation with the development of the N4 class, with only ten being upgraded and sent to be mothballed. The S3 is being retired as it has been found that the ageing engines are incapable of maintaining the high speeds required to work with the V1 class destroyer leaders due to engine overheating. The ships are being retired as each new N4 class ship is produced, with some being mothballed for potential reactivation. Displacement: 700 tonnes Speed: 30 knots (10,500 horsepower, coal fired) Range: Medium Crew: ~85 Armament: Two 4 inch guns, one fore, and one aft, in single turrets Range: 10,780 yards (9,857 metres) Four single mount, above water, two centreline, two wing mounted, 18’ torpedo tubes firing Mark V Blackhead torpedoes Max range: ~1,500 yards (1,372 metres) at 20 knots Fire Control: Local Only Cost: $13,401,176.05 Maintenance cost: $58,332.56/month Build time: 10 months Narjek Class Corvette/Patrol ship - 25 in service (15 mothballed)
The Narjek class corvette is a multi-purpose utility ship used frequently by the RANN. Army of the Confederation
The ground based military forces of the Confederation of Narunar are concentrated under the umbrella of either Army Ground Forces Command (AGFC), National Forces Command (NFC), Territorial Security Forces Command (TSFC), or the Army Marine Forces Command (AMFC). Within each organisation there are numerous sub commands in charge of various aspects of organisation, logistics, and combat command.
The total forces of the Narundan Army usually numbers roughly 450,000 active duty troops depending on the season, with another 150,000 on ready reserve status. The number of inactive army reserve troops, men between ages of 17-40 who have completed military training or service within the past ten years, numbers around two million. Meanwhile the potential recruits for the NFC number in the five million range.
The Narundan military is somewhat tactically out of date having not partaken in the numerous recent international conflicts but maintains parity in equipment capability with the other nations. Since the Narundan military has so little actual combat experience, numerous foreign advisors have been sourced from other nations in order to attempt to keep up with new developments.
Each service has a specific role to fill in the warfighting capabilities of the Confederation.
Army Ground Forces Command
Army Ground Forces Command, also known informally as the ‘Regular Army’, is the primary offensive branch of the Narundan military, being the best trained and equipped for such operations. The number of active duty personnel reflects this, with the AGFC having ~200,000 men permanently under arms. These men are primarily divided between the Eastern and Western armies with numerous independent formations varying in size from regiments to whole divisions. The AGFC is noted for having a somewhat bloated officer core, and numerous understrength units, some of which have only a third of their total strength. These units are under the command of Army Ground Forces Reserve Command (AGFRC) and are intended as rapid mobilisation divisions to be called up in times of war within only a few days of hostilities beginning. As such most divisions train frequently, and members of such divisions must live within a half-days ride of their home base, or else transfer to a different unit.
Notable Sub-commands (Henceforth Army Ground Forces will be shortened to AGF)
AGF Special Operations Command (AGFSOC)
In charge of numerous special operations units and independent units including Force Recon and infiltration units.
AGF Marine Command (AGFMC)
Not to be confused with the Army Marine Forces Command AMFC, the AGFMC commands several brigades and regiments of marines external from the AMFC. Despite numerous calls for its disbandment due to similar operational profiles to the AMFC, the Army has doggedly argued for its retention.
AGF Alpine Command (AGFAC)
The AGFAC operates primarily in the south-west of the nation, in and amongst the hills and mountains of the Golden Peaks. Due to the terrain, the AGFAC is one of the most lightly armed formations in the Narundan Army, having only a handful of low calibre mountain artillery batteries.
National Forces Command
National Forces Command, or simply the National Forces, is the smallest of all commands in the Narundan Army with only 10,000-20,000 men active, but has the capacity to become one of the biggest. The NFC is intended to be an organisation of second line troops and ready reserves in the case of war or an invasion of the Narundan Heartland. In times of war, the NFC will draw recruits from former military members in order to form the officer and training core of new divisions, which will then be filled via the conscription of able-bodied citizens or members of the Territorial Security Forces. These troops are not intended for offensive action and as such, lack the heavy equipment for such attacks. While not exactly light infantry, National Forces units are less well equipped than their AGFC compatriots. If needed in times of war, National Forces units can quickly be re-equipped and retrained to become regular army units.
As the National Forces Command is a purely reserve force it has no major sub branches.
Territorial Security Forces Command
Territorial Security Forces Command is in charge of all border guard and internal security units within the Confederation of Narunar. The duties of this command vary from disaster relief, election security, VIP protection, fort garrison, and border patrol. This wide range of duties means that the Territorial Security Forces Command is the most diverse command, rivalling even that of the Regular Army. To allow for this diversity, the Territorial Security Forces have some ~130,000 troops of all types active in service.
Noteable Sub-Commands (Territorial Security Forces Command is hereafter shortened to TSFC)
TSFC Border Forces (TSFCBF)
The Border forces vary from outpost garrisons to mobile cavalry units capable of medium intensity combat.
TSFC Security Regiments (TSFCS)
The TSFC Security regiments are primarily riot control, and event security detachments which usually come under the control of local police.
Army Marine Forces Command (AMFC)
Army Marine Forces Command, while being part of the overall command of the Army, is heavily integrated into the command structure of the Royal Alcemcan Narunar Navy (RANN). As the name suggests, the AMFC is focused on Naval Landings, and other amphibious actions. The AMFC has roughly ~130,000 troops, mostly based out of the Kailano Islands, and the new Oscarrsland Naval Fortress. The AMFC is the most homogenous branch of the Narunar and has no significant military branches.
Notable Independent Regiments
Experimental Motorised Brigade
The Experimental Mechanised brigade is Narunar’s first attempt at the creation of a mechanised formation. The formation is currently experimenting with manoeuvre warfare and discovering what designs and specifications are required for a powerful manoeuvre warfare.
Motor-Cavalry Regiment
The Motor-Cavalry Regiment is a parallel experiment to the Experimental Mechanised Brigade, being a traditional cavalry unit with transport elements allowing for man and horse to be moved via motorcar/truck. Experimentation has shown a great increase in manoeuvrability over traditional cavalry units, however any benefit or negative to fully motorised/mechanised formations is yet to be ascertained.

Military Equipment The Narundan military primarily uses domestically designed and produced equipment, however efforts are being made to acquire foreign designs, particularly artillery.Infantry Equipment(Once again, if you want to see bigger image, just click on it)Infantry Rifle, Magazine, Model 1875/88 Mk.3 (Ermine) This is the standard infantry rifle of the Narundan Army. It features a ten round magazine loaded individually or by 5 round stripper clip, and a magazine cutoff to facilitate easy use of the Mk.5 Grenade Launcher. Separate variants exist for the mountain troops (Mk.3*), cavalry (Mk.3#), and marine infantry (Mk.3w). The rifle is nicknamed after the designer, Henry Ermine. Mk. 5 Grenade launcher and 45mm Grenade Mk2
The Mk.5 is the current grenade launcher for the M.1875/88 ‘Ermine’ rifle, with one being given to every grenadier. The Mk.5 attaches to the end of the barrel and is immediately usable with a blank round. The use of the magazine cutoff allows for easy reloading of blank cartridges for more rapid fire. The Mk.5 launcher with Mk.2 grenade has a range of ~300 metres. The Mk.2 grenade comes in high explosive, smoke, signal smoke, and flare variations. Infantry Machine Gun (IMG or LMG) Model 1902, Mk.1 - ‘Merdron’
The Mk.1 ‘Merdron’ LMG is the first man portable machine gun adopted by the Narundan military. Only weighing ~9kg, the Merdron is easily portable by a single soldier. With a rate of fire of 450 rounds per minute and being fed from a 30 or 40 round, gravity fed, box magazine, the Merdron is more than capable of sustained bursts of suppressive fire. Being a very new design, the Merdon is currently only in widespread use with the AGFC and AMFC.

20mm Recoilless Rifle Mk.1 - ‘Fist’
The 20mm Recoilless rifle is a man-portable alternative to traditional light mountain artillery for the Narundan Alpine Forces. The Fist trades explosive power for its light weight and easy mobility, only weighing 11kg when not loaded. The weapon itself is more or less simply a rifled barrel with a breechblock on the back which allows some gases from the 20x180R cartridge to escape, significantly reducing the recoil. With an effective range of 500 metres, the Fist makes for a potent anti-infantry weapon. As it is an anti-infantry support weapon, the Fist is only issued with high explosive rounds. (This is placeholder, looking for alternate) Lanib Model 4 - ‘Lanib Repeater’
The Lanib is a novel semi-automatic self loading pistol design which loads its 8 round magazine by inserting stripper clips into the top of the slide. While it is possible to manually reload individual rounds into the pistol, it is time consuming to do so. Instead, to reload the pistol there is a magazine ejection button which ejects all currently loaded rounds from the magazine, allowing for a new stripper clip to be inserted. The pistol is only issued to officers and rear echelon troops. Model of 1897 Infantry SwordThe Infantry Sword is the standard officers sword issed to all ground troops in the Narundan military. This model of sword was an improved version of the 1893 Pattern, which combined a more robust blade with a thrusting point to the blade. The hand guard was also turned down on the inner edge to prevent the fraying of the uniform. The hilt has a nickel-plated three quarter ‘scroll’ pattern pierced sheet steel guard with the officer's personal motto engraved upon it. The sword has a leather sword knot attached to the slot near the pommel.
The grip is wire bound black sharkskin. The straight blade is etched half way on both sides with a foliage design. The standard leather scabbards have a nickel plated chape and throat, however on ceremonial occasions, such as trooping the colours, the brown scabbard may be replaced by a chrome scabbard. When worn by members of the Infantry the sword is adorned with a red leather scabbard fitted with a red leather Infantry sword knot. Despite being called an 'infantry sword' a slightly elongated sword is issued to cavalry officers with black furniture, and a slightly shortened version is issued to naval and marine officers with red furniture.

Heavy Equipment of the Army of NarunarMost of the artillery pieces in the Narundan Ground Forces are the same pieces found on the ships of the RANN. As such, most pieces are extremely heavy, and as such are rather immobile. For a long time domestic manufacturers failed to design reliable artillery of a lighter weight, however a recent treaty with the Imperium Divinium has finally given the army access to light, reliable, and mobile artillery pieces. Domestic manufacturers are rushing to analyse the new pieces in an attempt to produce their own superior designes but as of yet no new designs have been presented. The following are the most common, but not all, of the heavy equipment types used by the ground forces of the Narundan Military. Field ArtilleryLaivatykist 4.7 Inch Mk III The 4.7 Inch gun designed by the Laivatykist company is the most common field artillery piece found in Army service. The gun is an exact copy of the 4.7 inch naval gun used in RANN ships which, along with its long barrel, makes it extremely heavy for an artillery piece of its calibre. To compensate for its heavy weight, the piece has a range of almost ten kilometers and has a relatively fast fire rate with its strong recoil damening mechanism and quick open breach.Latka Model 4, 3 Inch HowitzerThe Latka Model 4 is once again, a naval piece pressed into ground service. As such, despite being of a lower calibre, it is less than a tonne lighter than its 4.7 inch counterpart. Thanks to its naval origins, the gun has a range of roughly eight kilometers. Laivatykist 12 Inch Mk I Siege Cannon
The 12 Inch Siege Cannon is the largest piece used by Narundan ground forces and can be found in both railway gun, and towed forms. The cannon is designated a 'Siege Cannon' due to the long setup time making it unsuitable for rapid deployment. Furthermore the large amount of high explosive and abundance of semi-armour piercing ammunition due to its use as a naval artillery piece mean that it is perfectly suited for destorying fortifications. With a range of just over fifteen kilometers this cannon can lay death upon the enemy from a greater distance than any other piece in service.

Narundan Air ForceLike many other nations in the world, the Narundan military has made forays into the development of an air force. Due to being an incredibly new concept, there is currently no independent branch for aerial units, with the force being split between Army and Navy branches, the Army Air Recon Command (AARC) and Navy Air Recon Command (NARC). Furthermore, all air units currently in military service are airships (known locally as dirigibles) or balloons, with heavier-than-air aircraft not yet developed enough for military service. Heavier-than-air aircraft are constantly being experimented with under the auspices of the Royal Flying Club, a semi-military, semi-civilian organisation which designs, builds, and tests experimental aircraft designs. There are many different types of airships currently in service. Some are simple balloons used for recon and artillery spotting, these being the RB 1-5 series, and many intermediate to large dirigibles, a large number of which are one off, experimental units. Recon dirigibles are given the designation DR, and dedicated bombers are given the designation DB, although many recon dirigibles can carry explosive payloads to a lesser extent. Each class is given a sequentially increasing number based on the number of designs to be brought into service before it, with DR-5 being the fifth model of airship in service, with each dirigible being given its own unique name. Example AirshipsDR-3: 'Republic'
The DR-3 Class is considered a 'light reconnaissance dirigible' and is far less capable than its larger cousins, but is able to conduct independent movement, has a shorter deployment time than larger ships, and requires little in the way of ground equipment to deploy or land, making it readily available at any frontline, giving it a wider range of uses than a standard fixed balloon. SpecificationsCrew: 4 Length: 61 m (200 ft 2 in) Diameter: 10.9 m (35 ft 9 in) Volume: 3,700 m3 (130,000 cu ft) Ballonet volume: 730 m³ (25,649 cu.ft)[3] Useful lift: 1,260 kg (2,780 lb) Powerplant: 2 × Vulcan Aero 70 hp petrol engines Propellers: 2 x 2-bladed (two propeller shafts driven by one engine) Maximum speed: 50 km/h (31 mph, 27 kn) Endurance: 7h 15min DR-1: 'Cormorant' The DR-1, as its name suggests, was the first dirigible to be accepted into military service and is a one of a kind vessel. She was originally classed as a bomber but was quickly reassigned to reconnaissance when it became clear that rapid advances were being made in the field which would make the Cormorant's bomb load insignificant incredibly quickly. At the moment the Cormorant is under the command of the Navy as an airborne patrol vessel and has been given a radio set with which to coordinate patrolling naval vessels. The ship is rather obsolete and is going to be sold to a private individual or a museum within the year. SpecificationsLength: 128.02 m (420 ft 0 in) Diameter: 11.73 m (38 ft 6 in) Volume: 11,298 m3 (399,000 cu ft) Useful lift: 12,428 kg (27,400 lb) Powerplant: 2 × Kleingroth Aeroscience NL-1 4-cylinder water-cooled piston engines , 11 kW (14.2 hp) each Maximum speed: 27 km/h (17 mph, 15 kn) Endurance: 2 hours DB-4: 'Venturous'The DB-4 is the first mass produced class of dirigibles designed for bombing targets, with Twenty-two (22) produced thus far. The ship can clearly be seen as a development of the DR-1 design, with the same overall shape, internal structure, and keel design. Despite this, the DB-4 class is has capabilities head and shoulders over earlier designs, being armed with machine guns, and having much greater performance. SpecificationsCrew: 20 Capacity: 8,200 kg (18,078 lb) typical disposable load Length: 158 m (518 ft 4 in) Diameter: 14.9 m (48 ft 11 in) Volume: 22,740 m3 (803,000 cu ft) in 18 gas cells Empty weight: 17,900 kg (39,463 lb) Useful lift: 26,100 kg (57,500 lb) Powerplant: 3 × Kleingroth Aeroscience BY 6-cylinder water-cooled in-line piston engines, 130 kW (180 hp) each Propellers: 2-bladed fixed-pitch propellers mounted on trusses on both sides, driven by chains Maximum speed: 76.32 km/h (47.42 mph, 41.21 kn) Range: 2,900 km (1,800 mi, 1,566 nmi) Armament Guns: machine-guns in envelope, top gun positions, and gondolas In total, the Narundan air forces have ~50 large dirigibles, ~60 light dirigibles, and large numbers of balloons in service with many more under construction.

The Narundan Church: A Grand Pantheon
Narunar is a religiously homogeneous nation with roughly 80% of the population being members of the Uryekyo (officially the Congregation of Uryekyo) faith. The final twenty percent being made up of various different minority religions such as the followers Klydlacism, which is found in rural areas of the Kailano islands, atheists, and Christan sects, though Christianity has so far remained primarily a religion of foreigners in Narunar.
However, the Uryekyo religion is far from a uniform faith, with several major and minor branches, some of which vary immensely from the acknowledged 'orthodox' teachings of the major branches.
A Basic Overview
Please note that almost everything written in this section has a big asterisk next to it due to the nature of the Uryekyo religion
Theology
Practitioners of Uryekyo believe that the universe was created by an unknown entity of immense size and power which existed before reality itself (though what that entails a source of debate), and whose true name was never spoken or known to any being other than itself. Because of this the creator deity of Uryekyo is called Urye-tyn, literally "[The] Unknown/Unknowable (Urye) one/individual (tyn)", with the name of the religion meaning "[The] Followers [of] (kyo) [the] Unknowable (Uryekyo)."
Urye-tyn is said to have created the fundamental laws, forces, and structures of the universe such as maths, gravity, and an interconnected, incorporeal web that would in time become galaxies, however during this time the universe was largely barren and devoid of common structures we now take for granted, such as planets, stars, or even life. What happened next is unclear, but for some reason, be it the instability of a being born before reality inhabiting real space, a desire to create new beings, an accident, or even suicide, Urye-tyn broke apart into uncountable fragments. These fragments, though at first mindless, slowly attained sentience, with the largest seven fragments arising first and becoming the seven Heptarchs.
The seven Heptarchs are, in their order of awakening:
Cithigothos, god of light
Fumlyir, god of land
Fasldir, god of seas
Arus, god of order
Tiamat, god of disorder
Turos, god of air
Phivyja, god of death/decay
Cithigothos, found himself to be blind upon his awakening as his form possessed eyes without pupils. For a time he blindly travelled the universe before he discovered that he could see light if the source was bright enough, and so he created the stars as great lanterns/lighthouses with which he could navigate throughout the universe.
Fumlyir and Fasldir were the next to awaken. The exact nature of the two gods is debated, with orthodox teachings painting the two as twins, perhaps whose fragment of Urye-tyn split later in their development, though some sects see them as two separate aspects of the same being. Regardless, the two gods, upon discovering the creations of Cithigothos, worked together to create the planets and their oceans. However, in their excitement and haste, the two young gods paid no heed to the laws of reality, placing planets in whatever orientation of direction was convenient for them at the time. This led to great calamities in the heavens, with dozens of worlds crashing together or shattering because their internal structures were insufficient to hold themselves together. The aftermath of these calamities can be seen in the cratered surface of the moon Ienta (named after its patron goddess) and in the asteroid remnants of the (believed to be) former planet Otarr.
After Fumlyir and Fasldir came Arus who, despite being 'born' after Fumlyir and Fasldir, was far more mature and knowledgeable than the two older gods. Arus quickly brought Fumlyir and Fasldir under his wing, educating them on the rules of reality and assisting them in cleaning up much of the chaos hey had unwittingly created in their wake. It is also around this time that Cithigothos encountered the other three gods for the first time, and the four gods began traveling reality both creating and repairing the planets and stars as they went. Arus also began creating the first plants, seeding them on select planets where the conditions were right for their existence. Arus did this by sculpting the smallest fragments of Urye-tyn into various forms.
Tiamat awoke in a chaotic area of the universe which had not yet been revisited by Fumlyir and Fasldir. Tiamat spent her formative years surrounded by broken planets, immense collisions, and shattered stars. So violent were these events that Tiamat almost died on many occasions.
[More needs to go here im just too tired to write it now lol]
Do note that lesser deities, nephilim, humans and all other animal life were created by Tiamat using small fragments of Urye-tyn. This means that all non-plant life is somewhat sacred.
Practices
The practices of followers of Uryekyo varies immensely between specific sects in most all respects. There are, however, some broadly consistent practices.
First is an aversion to viewing corpses, particularly of humans. While viewing a corpse is not considered a sin, it is seen as 'unclean' (in a spiritual, not medical sense), unsanitary, and is overall an uncomfortable experience. This is because it is believed that after death, the fragment of Urye-tyn (aka the 'soul' of that person) has left the body. Because of this, funerals take place without the person's body present, with a picture facsimile (traditionally a tile representation) taking the place of a casket.
Second is a belief in a nominal form of reincarnation where the the fragment of Urye-tyn (soul) of an individual being reused in order to create another creature.
Teachings are passed down via a strong oral tradition with some writings.
Note: This is all entirely unfinished and ill be working on in through the week(s). Relax and watch me edit this later.
