The Death of an Emperor

Heregod Rothwell lay in his chambers surrounded by his wife and 5 children as courtiers spoke in hushed tones outside the door. He lay hunched over with stomach pain and new his time was near. with his final few hours he wrote his will handing the Dukedom to his son Hondscio the next duke of Rothwell. He passed late in the afternoon with family close by and prepared for death. 

The next week was declared a week of mourning where all people of Rashad gathered before town criers reading the story of his life to the people. At the end of the Week the new Emperor was to be announced by the Dukes who now gathered in the Palace of House Rothwell. The bribes and deals started almost immediately and the first day of meeting was mostly just deciding who would put up their hand for Emperor, in the end 4 Dukes chose to forgo their vote and be voted for Emperor. 


Astmere Carvallio, Cenfrith Hunzuad, Alwyne Aychwych, and Hildwulf Vylder all put up their hands to be elected Emperor. 
After another day of bartering and bribing the votes came in:

With 4 votes for - Alwyne Aychwych was elected the new Emperor and following the week of mourning it was announced to the people of Rashad

The new Emperor of Rashad is Alwyne III of Aychwych, Duke of Eazoya, Lord Protector of kšena, Warden of the East, Defender of the Faith, Bearer of the Crown and Blade of Rashad
