We have seen how much our two realms have already prospered from trade with one another and feel that such a relationship should be pursued to its natural conclusion, for the mutual benefit of not just ourselves, but others too.
We are one of the founding members of a trade alliance, so Hansa af hizos Hriggsaiws, which exists to facilitate greater commerce between its members through standardisation, agreed upon standard tariff rates, mutual defence of shipping, and free basing of ships for the purposes of trade. It also has a military aspect to it as well, which while not mandatory, we feel would benefit you greatly. The military alliance is purely defensive in nature, so that if one of our trade partners is attacked, the rest can come to their aid and defence.
We feel strongly that should your nation join, it would be the beginning of a beautiful era of co-prosperity.

I indeed have become aware of the prosperity brought about by the trade between our nations. I find it appropriate, therefore, that in order to bring Ryukyu into the next era, we accept this offer.
However, we would have to ask for exemption from the military aspect of the alliance, as our nation is not prepared for such things as large scale wars. I apologize for any inconvenience this decision may bring.

We at Dunwik have been unfortunately split between catering to two markets: our internal demand for prestige and of course the international community. However, this leter is to be taken as recognition of our error. We hereby formally request to be inducted into the Hansa.

The Dunwikki Nationalists utterly hated this move, considering it a betrayal of Dunwikki spirit for international money. Attempts to patch over the rift were ineffectual - and with a few influential Dunwikki being nationalists, this proved another black mark on the Nelson administration.

Given the recent influx of members from the Hansa into the Divinian Offshore Company, Her Ephemeral Majesty has ordered me to request formal acceptance of the Imperium Divinium into the Hansa.
