"I would accept a demilitarised colony excluding the North Eastern most island but I cannot accept lowering the market value of our goods as it is at this time as we have just paid massive debts and are struggling to keep the economy afloat, an investment in the industry would be allowed but a straight undercutting of prices is not acceptable" He too was almost shouting at this point getting clearly more stressed as the meeting progressed.

“Your debts are not my concern nor my fault sir! Perhaps your government should have considered the economic ramifications of their actions before taking drastic action. Will the colony be worth the investment if I order my troops to raize it? We do not desire violence, but we will get our pound of gold or our pound of flesh. Your economy is in shambles. Your society wracked in uncertainty. We have a navy with enough firepower to sink an island back into the sea on your borders, and you offer to demilitarize part of a colony you barely hold onto. No one will come to your aid. It seems to me you have very little with which to negotiate.”

But what is this getting your pound of flesh, You are one of the contributing butchers and I have already given you what has been requested in economic terms resulting in this current situation. So yes you are contributing to the debts. I will make this clear under no circumstance will I be accepting a below market price on Asderaordian goods and some of those islands will be militarised. If you want to attack duom do so but know we will not be threatened by you anymore. If you have anything else to discuss do so now or I am leaving as this discussion is finished.

Catherine’s last vestiges of calm shattered as the man stood. She pushed Aurelius into Gabriel’s arms and got up, the chair falling backward as she did so.
“I did not give you permission to leave. We have a knife to your nation's throat and you offer us nothing?” She moved around the table, nearing him as she spoke. An anger she had never before felt boiled in her stomach. “Will your people thank you when you’ve returned to them? You didn’t give into our request, but you’ve doomed them to suffer nonetheless. Economies recover. But I swear to you, those who go against me will not. Your people will break under the heel of my empire if you do not sit down and offer me any valid reason I should not order my men to tear your colonies asunder.”
