The Kaskadien Civil War has evolved in scale, from just a simple conflict between the Republic and Monarchists, to a full-blown period of Warlord Rule.
Commodore Robert Culpepper butchered the union first, declaring the islands an independent nation, the Pellian United Republic. The Pellians have decided to stay neutral as much as possible and are even preparing to establish trade with foreign powers. (Blue)
Next, leaders of the "Church of Heavenly Mandates" took control of key mountain passages, cutting off the Kaskader Duchy and Kaskadien Constituional Republic from one another. (Teal)
Soon after, Communist Ideologues caused insurrection in Cutlertown, now the capital of the Socialist Republic of Kaskader. Jamie Steele has taken control, and plans to rid the former colony of "all ties to kings" (Red)
The Northern Command, under Robert Forsyth, have continued to be hardliners, splitting from the Republic. However, the hostile takeover by Justin Brewer, a revolutionary fighter, and former Dunwikki mercenary, has left questions for what this "Northern Rockies Volunteer Corps." might have in store. (Navy Blue)
The Kaskadien Black Army have found the "Emergency Powers" of all parties involved to be too authoritarian, too hard on the common man, and wish to set forth an Anarchist tomorrow for the nation. (Black)
Halliday and Fairbairn have maintained control of the Republic, although there is fear that the entire dream of Republics and home rule might be a false hope, and the future looks grim. (Dark Green)
von Sykes is currently the most hated man in the conflict, by far. The Duchy is rife with informants and turncoats, who's treachery, once revealed, has been shown publicly in dozens of purges and public executions. Many locals believe he'll end up killing more of his own men than his many, many opponents. (Purple)
