Preperations were almost done for Commodore Perrin's dream to come true, to discover new lands, spread civilisation, and of course to boldly go where no Sheenish man had ever gone before, the heart of the Great Sea! His ship, the SNS Unicorn, was a Seaxebaurgs Class Cruiser fitted with enlarged coal bunkers to help it on the difficult voyage ahead, and even with the ability to raise sails if times got especially dire. She left port at 0800 and headed due south towards the Kaskader union, there she would then travel due west towards the Sheenish port of SNP Vestenland to fully resupply and then head into the unknowns of the Great Sea. Notably along with him on the voyage was First Officer James Nolan, his second in command at the Battle of Perrinshlaw where the Commodore had become a war hero in not one but two nations, and a national villain in a third. Indeed it was his bravery and leadership in saving the Sadaler forces at Perrinshlaw that gained the Commodore the ability to at last explore the oceans to bring wealth and glory to his nation, and the economic situation certainly helped things too. The first part of his trip would be smooth sailing through familiar waters, but the second half was what he longed to see.
Sailing past the Kaskader Union, the seas became rougher as the weather turned for the worse, however the vessel had no issues dealing with the increasing strength of the waves, afterall the ship was built for the high seas! She arrived safely into Vestenland's enclosed sea walls on time and with light to spare, with Perrin hoped to be a sign from God that his voyage was destined for greatness and that it was his destiny to bring glory and riches to the Association.

On the sixth day of the voyage, islands were spotted by the lookout, they appeared to be a set of small attols with little of value on them besides a few cocunuts and large rocks, but Commodore Perrin straight away got to mapping them and thus named them the Village Islands.

After another week voyaging, the commodore had discovered paradise. Before him was a series of islands with rich soil and friendly, sea faring people! He got to mapping at once, but before long was approached by the King of the Islands, A man named King Kamehameha LXIX. And thus would begin a new chapter in the history of the Sheenish Empire.

Agreements have been made so that The kingdom of Hawai'i would be a protectorate of the Associated Cities, preliminarily under the King and Commodore Perrin. The Hawaiian population would be allowed free travel to the Associated cities and be able to take advantage of the trade deals the Association made, at the cost of 10% of all export revenues being paid to the Association.

After a temporary consultancy was setup in the capital of Hawaii, the Unicorn continued her voyage west, having heard from Sadaler vessels of a powerful western kingdom called "Jukh". It thus became of upmost importance that the Commodore made sail for their kingdom, as to make contact on behalf of the Association. After 2 weeks of sail, A landmass appeared in view which matched the Sadaler descriptions, A gun salute was given and semaphore was used in an attempt to make contact with any local port authority.

Because the arrival of Commodore Perrin was reported to the port administrator by Sadaler and Ryukyuan trading vessels, the Imperial Navy’s Office for the Recovery of Maritime Explorers already had people at the port waiting for him. They issued semaphore signals as maneuvering instructions while deploying tugboats to bring the ship into port.
When the ship was safely ported, a gangplank was set up, and some local authorities and naval officers, who could all speak Hundisch, were waiting to greet the Sheenish.

When the ship was safely ported, a gangplank was set up, and some local authorities and naval officers, who could all speak Hundisch, were waiting to greet the Sheenish. Commodore Perrin walked down the gangplank once it was set up and spoke with a thick, Sheenish accent "Good day gentlemen, my name is Commodore Perrin of the Sheenish Marines, from the Associated Cities of Sheen, we heard talk from our Sadaler friends of a nation of people in the west, and as I am on a mission of discovery, that has of course brought me and my crew here" the soldier to his right then opened a box and Perrin took the bottle from inside "As is for some reason now traditional whenever meeting with a new people, I offer as a sign of goodwill a bottle of Barleywine"

Accepting the barleywine, one of the men responded in mild accent, not heavy, yet not fluent either:
“I thank you, good sir, and welcome to Ryukyu. I am Lieutenant Sato of the Imperial Navy. I must say that I very much respect and admire the bravery of explorers such as yourself, but let us not delay any further. We have prepared lodgings for you and your crew, for however long you need stay here. We also have a number of maps, documents, and items that may be useful for your return.”
The lieutenant then motions to a group of buildings.
“Shall we be off, then?”

An explanation of the area: Because this is a northern area, there are more Yamatu people than there are Ryukyuans. Besides them, there were a few Ainu, Kaarans, and Sadalers. Now, the port itself and a bit of the city close to it was built in Sadaler architectural styles, though some Ryukyu imagery and influence remain. The middle and outer radii of the city, though definitely modern and serviced with electricity and other utilities, were more native in form. From the city, you could get a good view of the local mountain range, and outside the city, in the rural area, one can enjoy peace and watch the cultivation of rice, tea, and other sundry crops. Throughout the city, there are a number of businesses and establishments. There was a bookstore which carried novels, poem collections, manga, and classics. These were available in Ryukyuguchi, Yamatuguchi (Yamatogo), Hundisch, and Ryuko-Hundisch Creole. There were also a number of small and quaint shops which sold cultural items such as art, calligraphy, clothing, and instruments. A number of Benri O Mise (shops that sold snacks and other convenient goods), restaurants, inns, and teahouses adorn the streets, along with the temples of Shintō and the cathedrals and meeting places of the Christians. The local theater has a number of events programmed, mostly musicians coming to play for an audience, but a number of plays have also been scheduled. After watching a play with his senior staff, The Commodore's yearn for exploration called him back to the seas. His men, having thoroughly enjoyed their time away reluctantly left the town, including one Mr Cierman, who had been enjoying learning the local language, and teaching the locals some phrases in his native Sheenish, as well as trying Tea unlike that he had tried from his time serving in Duom against the Ilhicaco... but onwards they had to go. Having studied maps provided by the Ryukyuans, Perrin noticed a nation named the Qin Empire noted to the west of the lands he was currently in, and as such plotted a course for their land. He wouldn't be the first German to arrive though, he heard of a Sadaler vessel having headed there but a week earlier, and as such did not expect much amazement at the existence of people like him.

Now, a number of warships were off the coast of Qin, since the King of Liuqiu was staying in Qin for about a week. The dreadnoughts are a stark contrast to the Qinish junks, and the soldiers in the port were obviously better equipped than the armored spearmen. The country was large and expansive, containing many biomes and peoples. The city itself had stone-laid paths which made up the streets, which, when exiting the city, gradually bled into a path of earth and dust. Some of the more superstitious, meaning Taoist, buildings were arranged in strict compliance with traditional geomancy. However, the more lax Confucians, Legalists, Mohists, and Christians arranged their houses and businesses however they so pleased. The people wore cross-collared robes, much like the other western peoples, could this be a trend on the entire continent or area? In addition, these people use the same complex characters as the Liuqiuans, but some seem to be a few strokes different, and the simple characters are completely absent.
In the open field, one can observe the rice farms, salt mines, mountains, and heavy forests. It can be conjectured, from the traveling carts upon the roads, that this country has a competent road system permeating the land. These carts are often drawn by oxen. For passenger-carts, horses or even other people were employed, although the rickshaws acted as taxis, only going small distances.

On arrival, the Commodore once again did his spiel about how he was from a nation in the far east called the Associated Cities of Sheen, and that he was on a mission of exploartion, providing a casket of bottles containing a liquor he called "Barleywine" along with maps of the Ringsea, he requested that these be passed onto those in authority as he would not be able to stay too long before having to travel on.

A soldier of the less-than-week-old Xiongnu Shouwei, that is, a guard of the Sadaler Embassy stationed at Longdefanzi Palace, accepted the barleywine and maps, which would go to the Embassy, and then the Capital. He then offered, though awkwardly, to contact his superior officer to resupply the Commodore’s vessel.

On spotting boats, Perrin sent messages to them who directed him to a possible landing site, however on arrival he noticed that the location in question was rather lacking for a ship the size of the Unicorn, let alone the naval flagship SNS Yerkes, and as such assembled an away team who travelled the remaining distance by Dinghy, and landed on the pier.

After making contact with the local peoples of the Auzeren nation and giving gifts, the Commodore decided it was time to set sail back westward to bring his discoveries and knowledge back to the Association. "YOU ARE ENTERING VRAKKIAN WATERS. PLEASE TURN YOUR SHIP AROUND IMMEDIATELY OR PREPARE TO BE BORDED." On recieving the message, Perrin realised that risking enterring hostile waters was not worth jeopardising his mission, and instead decided to head the warning, inform the Vrakkian radio operator that he was indeed leaving Vrakkian waters, and the heading he would be taking to leave their waters. He noted the possible hostile nature of this people and prepared to find an alternate route back east.

With the Vrakkian warnings headed, Perrin ordered the Unicorn to head due north between two islands and to then head due east.
