Continued drops in temperature are expected throughout the week, with black ice warnings being issued due to sudden overnight freezes. Military authorities wish to remind travellers that cleaning crews are scheduled to be working on the highways between midnight and four in the morning, and that traffic flow between the capital and Hlawbaugs is expected to be reduced by at least two thirds due to last week's rain.
In other news, the recent conflict between West Thosel Cransconia (W.T.C.) and the Allirian Union has ended inconclusively following the disappearance of the Allirian king. No official peace treaty has been signed as of yet, but combat between the two nations appears to be at an end with Allirian military units withdrawing from W.T.C. Massive damage was sustained by W.T.C., with several of their cities currently in ruins following the war. Major sections of their national infrastructure are currently being rebuilt now that hostilities have ended, but it is unclear if they are going to be able to recover from the devastation they have suffered.
Informal estimates put the total number of deaths in W.T.C. at just shy of a million, with around four-hundred thousand civilians and half a million military personnel dead. Property damage estimates vary from anywhere from ten to thirty-milliard Sovereigns in total or forty-five and a half to a hundred and thirty-seven thousand Thaler, with the true cost likely being greater due to the massive amounts of economic disruption and chaos currently being experienced in the country, with countless rare and irreplaceable artefacts likely lost and the death totals likely to continue to rise due to the nuclear fallout covering parts of the country. Forest fires caused by the war are currently still burning and expanding in some parts of the country.
Local military officials are currently looking into organising teams of soldiers to combat these forest fires, after a fort was cut off and surrounded by one. Current concerns mostly stem from the need for specialised equipment to be made for these possible teams, such as with suggestions of aerocraft being outfitted with water tanks being floated. As of this moment though, a temporary authorisation has been given allowing for officers to order their men to help with the creation of fire breaks and the starting of controlled burns until a more solid plan can be made to help combat the risk of uncontrolled fires.
Finally, new laws have been passed giving more power to the Landin on matters regarding foreign entertainment imports. After a three month long debate in the Raikhsgamotjing, it was decided that not allowing the Landin the right to establish boards to censor, rate, and ban foreign entertainment allowed foreign governments and institutions too much freedom to influence and corrupt the people, which would be in direct violation of the 1715 Seditious Thought Act and Spring Rebellion Ordinance, which established that the Landin would be responsible for combatting sedition against them and the Hauhkuno. The review boards are expected to begin operating some time in the next fortnight, but until they have had time to properly review and process all the films, shows, and books that have already come into their various jurisdictions, all further imports of such media have been banned.

Controversy wracks the professional shooting community, as judges deem belt-fed lever action rifles to be acceptable for use in competitions. Current Fonarmensbund representative, Selkvo Sigurdsdauhtar, is recorded as saying 'This sets a dangerous precedent for future events, [as] speed shooters are going to be at an unfair disadvantage unless they start using belt fed guns too. [There] is simply no way to compete against someone that does not need to load his weapon after every shot.' Fans of the sport are similarly split, with some welcoming the introduction of new innovations to the sport, whilst others decry it as breaking from the spirit of honest competition and inviting gimmickry and disrepute.
In military news, elements of the Third and Fourth Wardjan Kreggaistasen are currently being prepared for overseas training exercises in neighbouring Acielon. Raikhsleidandskapiz and military sources say the men are expected to engage in mock battles and cross-military training in the hopes of fostering a 'closer and more beneficial' relationship with the kingdom. Expectations are high, as many view this as a necessary step securing the home region from the possibility of outside invasion and colonisation. Worries have been voiced though, as to whether or not the Raikhsleidandskapiz's choice in possible allies is the best. Unnamed members of the Raikhsgamotjing have instead argued for a realignment with Alliria and pursuing closer ties with the Empire of Arcadia, in light of the devastation wrought against West Thosel Cransconia (W.T.C.).
Despite the dissent, reports do indicate that the majority of the Raikhsleidandskapiz is in support of the current policy of local cooperation and have even begun discussing plans to send aid to W.T.C., such as in the form of military engineers and medical experts to help rebuild Drakenberg and relieve the overworked doctors currently dealing with the plague of radiation poisoning gripping much of the population. Negotiations with the government of W.T.C. have yet to properly begin, so it is still too early to tell when or if these plans will be able to be implemented. Tellingly, no cost estimates have been released as of yet, though many experts uninvolved in the plans have suggested that the Raikhsleidandskapiz would not be able to afford to do this with no compensation from W.T.C.
In other news, speculation is currently running wild in the capital, after it was suggested that the Hauhkuno had entered into negotiations for a wife with an unknown family. Despite his age, he has up to now completely eshewed marriage and siring children. Many had come to believe that the Hauhkuno planned to put forth one of his cousins as his successor, but now these beliefs are less certain. No word as of yet as to whether or not the Hauhkuno is indeed seeking to marry, but chances are slim that he is courting one of the royal families in the Raikh if he is, as there has been little to no indication of such talks from any of them.
Those supporting Hauhkunoleikshlutrei (Imperial Purity) have begun drafting yet another petition for the Hauhkuno to marry one of his cousins, as they view the continued practice of marrying outsiders to be a grave mistake and a possible threat to the divine blood of the Raikh's ruling family. Others have been quick to point out that while he might take an outsider as his consort, there is nothing stopping him from marrying his cousins as well, as has been done by predecessors. As the Hauhkuno has yet to make any comment on his preference, it remains to be seen whether or not he might continue it.

In military news today, three officers that were part of the Raikhsharjis' appropriation committee were found dead after they had been declared missing without leave two days ago. Their bodies were found buried in unmarked graves by a farmer taking his dog for a walk and were reported to the military immediately. All officers had been blindfolded and handcuffed before being executed with a shot to the back of the head, by what has been identified as a small calibre pistol. Blood spatter was found against a nearby wall, with testing indicating it belonged to the men in question. All of the men appear to have been severely beaten before their executions, with two of them bearing broken ribs and legs and all of them suffering from massive amounts of bruising all over their bodies.
Possible motives for the murders are currently being looked into, but sources indicate that all three men had been seen in the company of prominent members of the Raikhsgamotjing in the last few months and had family ties to several other members. With a new military spending budget coming up for review in the new year, it is possible that they were killed to stop them from swaying the Raikhsleidandskapiz towards giving the Raikhsharjis increased discretionary funding for their new secret weapons projects. Others suspect that the killings might have been carried out by anti-rent radicals, as the men were all from historically noble families and held lands near Stirling.
In related news, the local constabulary in the City of Morthal had to be dispatched to put down a riot that broke out after a group of ten men were attacked by a crowd. The ten men were all members of the local Dumbsvridon (a pejorative term for libertarianism) movement. The crowd had noticed them leaving to hand out fliers and beset them, initially only shaming them for their disloyalty. The incident escalated when an unknown person threw a brick at one of the men, causing the crowd to close in on them and begin beating them. None of the men were seriously injured, but they are currently being held for questioning, as it is unclear whether they had the right to distribute the fliers in the first place. Until they have been properly questioned, it is unlikely they will be released any time soon, as there are also fears that should they be released now, the public might take drastic actions against them in light of recent events elsewhere in the Raikh.
Finally in business news, reports indicate that local naval yards are currently in Raikhsleidandskapiz sponsored talks with an unknown foreign government. The talks are reportedly focusing on the creation of an entirely new fleet, with some indicating that more than or around fifty ships are being considered for commissioning. Alongside a recent upswing in construction firm hiring, the economy is experiencing a rather unexpected boom as many sectors seem to be preparing to fill out large and secretive foreign orders. No word has of yet has been announced as to whom all of these resources are being sold, but there has been very little complaint heard so far. The sudden demand has caused an increase in the average wages in the related industries and even in the service industry as well, with more construction workers now spending their money on services.

In industrial and military news, the Hauhkunoleiks Swersgesat has commissioned a new light cruiser as part of a secretive order, with specifications for the vessel being kept closely guarded. Sources in the Hauhkunoleiksflutt deny any knowledge as to the ship's purpose, saying that the vessel was not currently in line with the new expansion plans. On top of this, a separate mysterious order has been announced for a massive new fleet to be constructed. According to initial reports, two carriers, three light carriers, six cruisers, four anti-aircraft light cruisers, and eight light cruisers have started construction, with final completion being estimated to be in thirty months time. This appears to be the culmination of a massive industrial build up, as months of materials being stockpiled and weeks of increased hiring all appear to have been in preparation for this massive naval construction project.
The Hauhkunoleiksflutt have also announced their own plans for new ships, being scheduled to begin construction by the new year. An order for thirteen anti-aircraft destroyers and three anti-aircraft light cruisers. According to their offices, this plan has been in the works for quite some time, with it being long believed that the Flutt needed to increase its independence from land based support. In preparation for this, the Flutt has announced that it will begin rotating men from active duty and the reserve on a more regular basis so as to ensure that when the ships arrive, they have crews capable of operating them effectively. There is no indication as to where the funding for this ship building initiative has come from, but many believe that it is in response to possible hostile actions in neighbouring Acelion, which despite having recently engage in a large scale training exercise, has expressed discontent with the strength of our Flutt.
In provincial news, the City of Morthal is currently considering a petition to allow for businesses and homes to be built in some of the city's firebreaks. The petitioners question the need for these defences still being maintained, as the canals already stop fires from spreading and the city has not been at risk of a raid in hundreds of years according to them. The local military representatives feel that this would be an ill-advised decision, as while the city has been safe, it is a prime target for bombing raids due to its strategic importance, and as such needs to maintain the breaks in order to limit the damage that a single firebomb could do. They also say that the air defences are not impenetrable, and that a despite the presence of various installations, the city could easily be targeted by a hostile force.
Finally, several Kreggaistasen have been called up for unexpected training. Officials indicate that they are being prepared for a possible overseas expedition, though no word as to where they might be heading. The Kreggaistasen have also been issued with new uniforms and weapons as part of these preparations, with reports indicating that they are new experimental designs and variations on existing equipment. Overall, enthusiasm amongst the men involved seems incredibly high, as the prospect of deployment and new gear has settled in amongst them. Some soldiers were even seen betting on a map as to where they might be sent, with some thinking that they could be sent to West Thosel Cransconia to help restore order, whilst others thought that they might be sent to invade various countries, so as to expand the Raikh. Whatever the reality is, the men are excited.

In foreign and business news, a large number of what appear to be predominantly youths and young adults in neighbouring Acielon have become totally enamoured with products and aspects of Gothic culture, with elements of Alemannisch and Heiliger culture also being somewhat popular too. This appears to have been the result of exposure to these cultures through the opening of a series of cheap furniture stores in Acielon, which often times carry items as clothing, music, and books, as well as having food courts attached to them. This growing sub-culture has led to a boom in requests for radio stations in Acielon to play music originating in the Raikh, as well as an increase in exports to Acielon from the garments industry.
Part of this strange culture appears to be in substituting native terms with words of Hundisch origin. Even now, a split appears to be forming with those preferring Gothic styles and literature generally not associating too closely with those that prefer Alemannic styles. This can most obviously be seen in hairstyles, with many young men choosing to either braid their hair and beards or wear their hair in Suebian knots. Other than these fashion rivalries though, there does not appear to be much discrimination in food choices, demand for meatballs in sauces and open faced sandwiches being high. It is even said that some of these enthusiasts engage in parties specifically centred around having a sandwich table with various toppings from throughout the Raikh. Members of this culture have been dubbed by some as 'Raikheren'.
One side effect of this boom in Raikheren is that the Raikhsleidandskapiz has been absolutely flooded by requests for entry into the Raikh from Acielon. As a result of this, the Raikhsgamotjing had temporarily suspend all non-commercial and non-diplomatic entries into the Raikh from Acielon until the issue has been deliberated and a course of action set. Until then, the military is currently being asked to help secure the frontier with Acielon in case any of these people try to cross illegally, with orders currently being for them to be interned in processing camps until they can be tried, punished, and deported back to where they came from.
In economic news, the Raikhsgamotjing and has concluded negotiations with the governments of West Thosel Cransconia (W.T.C.) and the United Kingdom of Usuan and St. Glorius (U.S.G.) and have signed into existence a new international currency, referred to as the Trade Guilder. The specifics are quite simply, with all nations agreeing to set conversion rates and backing their currencies internationally with Trade Guilders (which are each worth exactly ten ounces of twenty-two karat gold). This is designed to ease international trade and loans, with all nations taking part having a common currency in which to specify payments without the fear of sudden inflation or currency manipulation. None of the countries participating control this reserve currency, with instead a unanimous vote being required to make any alterations. Moreover, a new banking organisation has been founded, with staff from all member states, that is responsible for upholding standards, minting coins, and regulating the currency in general.

The Raikhsgamotjing has officially announced a series of mutual defence pacts have been signed with foreign nations, with the aim being to limit the power and influence that the Empire of Arcadia can exert on any member state. These pacts should ensure that should the Raikh ever be attacked, that it will be aided by many strong and powerful allies and that the attackers will be defeated, if not destroyed by our combined might of arms.
In more interesting political news, a marriage has taken place between Prince Herbert Julius of Usuan and St. Glorius and Daigijon Katerina Gulfdauhtar. This, in much the same vein as the marriage recently between Hauhkuno Vauhoks and the new Hauhqene Riliane, has established a non-aggression pact between the Raikh and the United Kingdom, as well as having helped solidify emerging political and economic ties between our two realms.
The general reception of this news has been quite good, with many wishing the new couple happiness and prosperity. Most eyes are now turning to Hairas Haimfaths Robertsunus, with questions as to when he shall marry being asked. Some have suggested that he might marry Hauhqene Riliane, so as to eliminate any current or future possibilities of rivalry over the Hauhkunoleiks Swersgesat, but no indications have emerged as of yet indicating that to be in the cards. Another popular option would be the joint marriage of Hairas Haimfaths and Hauhkuno Vauhoks to Daigijon Martha Abadauhtar, as this too would help to stop any rivalries that might currently be developing.
Finally, new taxes have been levied by the Raikhsgamotjing and various Landsgamotjingin on the landowning nobility in response to their annual income being deemed higher than previously recorded in most Landin. The move has mostly been met by indifference from the nobility, in part due to the small nature of the adjustment. A few of the Hairäs and Fraujäs have complained about the new taxes, asking if they were to be permanent, but have been assured that the taxes shall be discontinued once all the balances have been properly adjusted and that there are not to be any more upward adjustments for the year.

Earlier this morning the Raikhsgamotjing passed a new controversial law and regulations establishing a requirement that all producers of distilled and fortified alcohols must acquire permits before the end of the month for the production of said alcohols. Furthermore, said alcohols are to be required by law to be bottled and stored in vessels stamped and produced by the Raikhsleidandskapiz or face severe fines. The sale of these alcohols is also to be taxed, with a third of profits now belonging to the Swersgesat.
These changes were brought about after three large monopoly holders had been tried and convicted for their misdeeds, resulting in their monopolies being revoked. They had worked together to produce large quantities of cheap alcohol and began a subversive and morally corrupting campaign to spread alcohol addiction amongst the population. After they had met with success, they then raised the prices and began adulterating their products so as to increase their own profits. Due to their actions, hundreds of cases of poisoning and chronic liver problems have developed in the regions they had been operating in.
With these events in mind, the Raikhsgamotjing has determined that small time producers as well as monopolies are to be subjected to increased scrutiny so as to avoid a repeat of this tragic issue. That said, several of the Landin have raised objections to the move and are in the process of negotiating possible amendments to the law, as they feel it unfairly impacts certain economies and not others.
In other news, the Raikhsgamotjing has announced that all followers of the Prophet Muhammad originating from the Hosal Kingdom are to be barred entry into the Raikh and that all entrants from the country are to be required to submit themselves to religious tests and investigations, with such requirements as willingly and freely ingesting beer and pork scratchings being added. Furthermore, shrines and icons are to be added to all border posts and places where immigration takes place, so that those suspected of wishing to violate the Vris af hize Guthen for religious reason may be brought to pay their respects to our gods.
This change has been met with no resistance internally and was brought about after the Raikhsleidandskapiz had been presented with a full report on the causes of the civil war in the Hosal Kingdom. Suggestions have already been put forth that the ban and testing should apply more widely and that the religious group in question could pose a threat outside of that realm, but these have been largely shot down by the Hauhkuno himself. He has been reported as saying that the ban would be widened in the event of other groups proving to be a threat, but that he would not allow for such a thing to occur on mere speculation alone.

Further political violence erupted today, after Frauja Ulf Bracusunus was gunned down making his way back to the capital. Two of his attackers have been arrested, both of whom are said to have ties to Hauhkunoleikshlutrei. Frauja Ulf was a staunch proponent of Jergtrau, despite he himself being a noble birth. His positions on slavery and general calls for land reform had made him a prominent and controversial figure, especially due to his opposition to further military arms contracts with foreign governments.
Kunotraunds members of the Raikhsgamotjing have called for a recess in light of this tragedy, with many go so far as to denounce the killing. They have also asked for people to stay at home when not working and to not take to the streets, saying that murderers shall be tried and executed for their crimes in the following months. In order to stifle the possibility of riots, the Raikhsgamotjing in conjunction with the Landsgamotjingin have issued decrees stopping non-Burghers from freely entering any cities or towns.
At the moment, three districts in Wovthal are currently in lockdown, after small vigils were attacked and riots erupted. Similarly, Haarshlaugs and a few other towns in Meinitzmark have been put under martial law, with the Raikhsgamotjing receiving orders from both Markfrauja Towal and Frauja-Haarskalks Grendel to stop unauthorised entries and exits from the Fraujinassus. All those caught attempting to cross the into the military district are to be brought in for interrogation and searched for weapons.
In other news, some concerns have been sparked after the Kingdoms of Estragel and Wistragel ceded control of large portions of their armies to Raikhsharjis. The Republic of Plattland is also in the process of doing the same, but has been unable to do so after an emergency closed-door session of their Landsgamotjing was called to deliberate the matter. No explanations have been given for the strange measures, but some have started speculating that a war is on the horizon.
What originally started out as a few Kreggaistasen being mobilised has now been expanded to two Hriggin entering into a heightened state of readiness. When questioned on this, the Hebithdräkh af Kreg, Hans Gruber, announced that no more than a Harjis is going to be needed and that there are no plans for a general mobilisation. Even with the additions from the Landin, this will mean that almost the entire Raikhsharjis is being prepared for war. Given the current political climate, this has made some worry.
The unheard of peacetime ceding of military control to the Raikhsharjis, the extreme secrecy as to what enemy the Raikhsleidandskapiz is preparing to fight, and the expansion of the Hauhkunoleiksflutt are likely to fuel fears of a coup or outside invasion. This has not been helped by what some have observed as being 'brotherly love' between the Flutt and Harjis. This sudden shift to friendly relations has many questioning what has happened to make them put aside their enmity.
To further solidify the last point, training exercises between soldiers and marines have begun taking place on a regular basis. Combined arms exercises are being conducted as we speak, with forces on land, air, and sea working closesly together. Part of these are large naval invasion and counter insurgency exercises, with the Third and Fourth Wardjan Kreggaistasen being known to be part of them. There have been no reports of brawling or unrest amongst the forces, though the details are yet again vague as to what they are preparing for and why.

News of the impending marriage between between Daigijon Katerina Gulfdauhtar and Prince Herbert of the United Kingdom of Usuan and St. Glorius has just broken and caused a massive upset amongst many Kunotraunden and supporters of Hauhkunoleikshlutrei. Protest and skirmishes that had just yesterday been under control and waning have already turned into full scale revolts, with many blaming the more liberal elements in government and society for this move. Reports are now coming in of homes being set alight and people openly carrying arms in the streets of several major cities.
The Hauhkunoleiksflutt and Raikhsharjis have amazingly begun jointly trying to suppress the revolts through shows of force, but are meeting opposition in many areas. The districts of Authskaunland and Grotbairgsland have broken down into complete chaos, as strongholds of Fonarmsvridon there have been targetted in what can best be described as large scale purges by hard-line elements of the local Landharjis. Meanwhile in Meinitzmark, Markfrauja Towal has announced that any man found to be carrying a weapon and not under his command shall be shot on sight.
There has been no word as of yet as to what the Hauhkuno is doing, but he was last seen leaving the capital with a Kreggaista of Hauhkunoleiks Wardjän and heading north to the coast. From what we have gathered, he might be planning on putting an end to unrest directly. That said, it is unknown as to whether he will be able to command enough respect from the Kunotraunden to continue running the government after this incident, with some speculating that he might have to step down.
Else where, Jergtraunds revolts have also broken out, with many seeming to be in direct response to the creeping amounts of foreign influence in the Swersgesat. Some are citing this lastest issue as proof that the time of the old system is coming to an end, and that the peasantry can no longer trust the Fraujä to safe guard their own families, let alone the Raikh from foreigners. These groups have been isolated though, with them being unable to make common cause with other armed revolts and in fact being attacked now by all sides for their extreme views with regards to the social order. Their efforts have also been less effective, as they appear to have become bogged down in their attempts to free slaves and raid stockpiles for weapons.

This is the Heiligen language news service at 09:00. Elements of the Platleiks Landsharjis have declared openly for Jergtrau and have placed their capital of Thurgau-bei-Überwald under siege, with the intent to overthrow their current government and install a new one. Elsewhere, Hauhkuno Vauhoks has been spotted leading an army towards the City of Morthal and has already managed to restore order to Hlawbaugs, after he marched his forces into the city unopposed and crucified most of the local leadership. The garrison was relieved and given orders to join him on his march to the coast, replacing them with a Stafs of the Hauhkunoleiks Wardjan. Elsewhere, Hairas Haimfaths has been left in charge of the Raikhsleidandskapiz and the capital, acting as regent for his cousin whilst he is on campaign. Despite the chaos currently unfolding, he has managed to secure a lucrative trade deal with the Hosel Kingdom, with one ton of tin being sold for two-hundred and twenty-four pounds of silver and a ton of copper. This deal has managed to stop the markets from totally collapsing in the face of the war, as there is now fierce bidding underway for tin mining contracts. Other than that though, he has taken a controversial move and has had more than half of the Raikhsgamotjing arrested after the last session devolved into chaos. Currently, all members of the Rakhsgamotjing representing Landin in open revolt against the Hauhkunoleiks Swersgesat or from Landin that have failed to properly handle the civil insurrections have been charged with treason on behalf of their Landin. The only exception to this being the members from Estragel and Plattland, as both governments have been deemed as having done everything within their powers to try and maintain order and stay loyal to the Hauhkuno. This has been seen by some as a bad precedent, but it has also been noted as having allowed him the ability to command government more efficiently. The general mood in the capital is one of confidence in his actions. Meanwhile, the bulk of the Raikhsharjis and Flutt currently remain gathered in Uttamar, where they had been carrying out training exercises when the civil war started. The local Landsharjis has been absorbed into the Raikhsharjis and the state declared a joint Hald, with the local government being suspended until the war is over. The establishment of this new military district has surprised many, but there has still been no news as to whether they plan on taking action soon to pacify neighbouring Wistragel. Their efforts in Uttamar have largely been successful, though reports say that they are still carrying out mass executions in certain areas against what they have deemed to be 'those lacking in piety'. This is the Heiligen language news service at 21:00.
News reached us today from Morthal of the marriage of Hauhkuno Vauhoks Abasunus to his cousin and half-sister, Daigijon Martha Abadauhtar. This marriage was met by widespread approval and celebration in the city, with the military marking the event by throwing the city gates open despite the ongoing civil war. Following their marriage, the Hauhkuno went before a large crowd of gathered officials and civilians and swore before them to uphold the old ways and purge the Raikh of those seeking to change it. He in particular swore to put every Jergtraunds to death or see them exiled from the Raikh, never to return. This speech was met by thunderous applause and cheers, as his great-uncle, Aba Ottosunus appeared next to him and pledged his support and loyalty to the Hauhkuno.
Following the news reaching elements of the Raikhsharjis in the Kingdom of Wistragel, a new offensive was started with the declared aim being to capture the capital of Wovthal and bring the Land back into the Hauhkuno's light. Elsewhere in Uttamar, the Raikhsharjis has begun moving their forces towards Morthal in order to link up with the Hauhkuno and his army. It appears to be a race against time for them though, as Alemannisch forces from Plattland supporting Jergtrau have also started making incursions into the Raikh af hize Dalen, with it appearing an invasion is imminent.
The Landin of Oberberge, Steinhäuser, and Sturmland have announced an alliance between them and have declared their intention to march into the Republic of Plattland should further attacks occur against Junkerberg. Their ultimatum as thus far received no response from the Land, with it being unclear as to whether or not a new Leidandskapiz has even been formed yet. Elsewhere in the Raikh, the rule of law has completely broken down in Rukonen & Konn and neighbouring Landin, as different factions struggle for control. The local Landsharjisin have all appear to have been paralysed due to internal factionalism, with none of the factions being able to properly take control of the others.
In the Kingdom of Estragel, incursions from neighbour Landin have rendered the local Landleidandskapiz unable to maintain order. Most of the Kingdom's Landsharjis had been seconded to the Raikhsharjis prior to the outbreak of the civil war, which has left it almost completely unable to defend itself. In order to stop further possible incursions and an invasion, the Landleidandskapiz ordered the collapse of all tunnels and the blocking of all major roads into the Kingdom. The result has been a near total fracture of the Land, with many valleys being totally cut off from their neighbours and in a state of de-facto independence from one another. While the Kingdom officially remains loyal to the Hauhkunoleiks Swersgesat, it is for all intents and purposes neutral due to its state of collapse.
Finally, Hairas en Frauja-Haarskalks Haimfaths Robertsunus has announced a new trade deal has been reached with the realm of Prussoian. The details of it are vague, but it has led to a further stabilisation of the metals market and recovery. Oddly, other sectors of the economy have also begun showing signs of recovery since the trade deal was announced, though no clear specifics have been given as of yet as to what the deal entails.

This week saw increased action, with Plattlander forces crossing the border into Morthal three days ago and with them being bogged down in heavy fighting with local elements of the Raiksharjis and sailors from nearby naval bases. As of reading this, they have been stopped fifty miles from the City of Morthal itself and are currently trapped in a salient, with forces from Hlawbaugs spearheading a push to the sea in order to try and cut off the rebel forces and fully encircle them. Credit has been given to the Hauhkunoleiksflutt for their excellent targeting of enemy command bunkers and supplies during the initial phase of the rebel offensive, as they were able to considerably hamper the traitors' ability to maintain their momentum and take vital rail lines. Hauhkuno Vauhoks is currently in command of the forces holding the City of Morthal proper, and has sworn that not one person-traitor will be allowed to set foot within.
Wistragel and Narvik have both officially been pacified as of today, as Hauhkunoleiks forces faced minimal organised opposition from local militias and rebel factions. Wovthal was declared an open city by its defenders, who chose to flee south into Rukonen & Konn and link up with Kunotraunds elements in the Land. Frauja-Haarskalks Mann is the man in overall command of the southern pacification, and believes that the Kuntraunden are planning on crossing the border into the Spanish Empire in order to try and continue their fight elsewhere. As part of this belief, he has ordered half of his forces to race down into thai Fraujinassusen and organise a defence of the border, to try and stop any seeking to fleet the Raikh from making it across.
Unsar Hairas en Frauja-Haarskalks has announced in response to some of the chaos currently unfolding, that new shipyards are to be built in Uttamar, in the small fishing village of Pinij-bi-Morei. As part of this move, he has had the Hald cede the village and much of its surrounding lands to his control and has issued a charter for the establishment of a new city, which is to be named Haimfathshaban in his honour. In order to provide for the workforce, all those currently displaced by the ongoing war have been given an open invitation to settle in this new port-city and to become citizens of it. The city is to be administered by the Flutt, but its taxes are expected to go towards the Hald of Uttamar following its establishment.
As a result of this new city's establishment, several localities have tightened their vagrancy and morality laws, introduced new laws against actresses, and have begun expelling those found to be breaking these laws to the city by force. It is expected that many more places will follow suit, with this now being seen as a golden opportunity to remove unwanted elements from society. The Raikhsharjis has been welcoming such exiles into the territory with open arms and has helped in the erection of temporary barracks and camps for the unwanted masses. However, concerns have been raised as to whether the military will be able to keep up with the influx of refugees and exiles, but no answers have been given as of yet.
Disruptions in internal trade have resulted in the prices of meat and fish skyrocketing and plummeting in different regions, as farmers and fishermen have been unable to get their produce to distant markets due to the crackdown in non-essential traffic. This has meant that the cost of meat and fish in Blairhaim has reached the astronomical figure of four and two Groschen for eleven pounds, respectively. Despite being the capital, no imports of meat or fish have been allowed into the city, with the Raikhsleidandskapiz declaring a state of strict rationing until the need for metals, guns, and bullets has been met on the front-lines. As of writing this, most markets currently lack fruit all together, with families being issued vitamin concentrates as part of their rations.

Great news from the high seas! A mysterious shipment of food arrived today from overseas, with most of it consisting of root vegetables and other long lasting food items. The goods were paid for, off-loaded, and distributed to nearby towns in order to help alleviate the disruptions to food distribution being experienced since the rebels launched their march towards Morthal. The food has been well received, but some oddities have been noted. The Raikhsleidandskapiz did not only choose to buy the shipment of food, but also the ship itself. It is currently being refitted for usage as an armed merchantman according to reports.
No indication as of yet as to whether further shipments are to be expected from overseas, but the general consensus is that until the rail lines are once more secure, they will have to be accepted when possible. Similarly, several farmers and breweries have begun collecting bulrushes in order to use their seeds as corn. This has been met with success, though the new beers being brewed with them are meeting a mixed reception in most areas. The flour being made from the plants have been generally considered passable, with most opting to mix it with wheat, rye, and other more common corn flours in order to use it as a more palatable filler.
In more military news, skirmishes in the south have begun as the Raikhsharjis has started establishing control over the southern border with Spain. Some rebel forces have already fled over the border and are currently in the process of doing so, but expectations are high that the bulk shall be successfully trapped in the Raikh and deal with in time. Concerns have been raised however, as to the reliability of supply lines in thai Fraujinassusen, as partisan activity and bushwhacking is extremely frequent in the nearby Landin. The Raikhsharjis is currently considering the possibility of establishing a series of new fortifications along major supply routes in order to try and quickly secure the border.
In the east, the coalition of Sturmland, Oberberge, and Steinhäuser have successfully created a supply corridor to Junkerberg. The newly named Estiggs Bund are engaging in heavy fighting with the forces of Plattland, but have been able to hold the line against them due to the Plattlander forces being mostly committed towards taking Morthal. This is now thought to have been a major strategic error on their part, as it has allowed the siege of Junkerberg to be lifted and has allowed for a two front war to develop with the Hauhkuno's forces to their south-west and the Bund to their east. It remains to be seen how the traitors will respond to this latest development.

Reports have come in that Landsharjis of Plattland have had to put down minor uprisings all throughout the Land as disruptions to trade and the destruction of key infrastructure has resulted in famine gripping several districts. This has seemingly contributed to a weakening in morale at the front-lines, as the Raikhsharjis has begun pushing them back to the northern border and away from Morthal. Due to this development, repairs have begun on damaged rail links that had been hit by rebel artillery and bombs during the fighting.
It is expected that the repairs are to be concluded some time this week, with increased traffic and trade being able to go along them soon. With this in mind, rationing restrictions are currently being loosened in areas where the increased trade is expected to bring more foodstuffs to market. Blairhaim in particular has lifted the ban on meat imports. This has been met with general approval and celebration in most areas, with many public feasts taking place to honour the Hauhkuno for his efforts to bring back stability.
Mean while in the southern Landin, the Raikhsharjis has made major gains subduing partisan activity and believes that they have successfully stopped the majority of rebel forces from escaping over the border and into Spain. Further fortified relay stations are being built in order to try and further tighten the hold on the region and secure supply lines. As we speak, new Landsleidandskapizin are currently being organised for the southern Landin, in the hopes that the new civilian governments will help bring about a sense of normalcy to the region and encourage partisans to stop fighting and return home.
In gayer news, the Hauhqene is now heavy with child. No date has been given for when she might be due, but expectations are high for Krudmenoths and Javinmenoths. The Hauhkuno has made no comment as to how he feels about this news, as he is currently engaged in the castigation of traitorous forces in the Raikh. In light of this news, the Hauhqene's retinue has been increased three-fold, as there are worries that some might choose to target her now that she is in such a delicate state.

This is the Hundisch language news service at 21:00. Following a mass sacrifice and ritual casting performed by the Hauhkuno and many priests, the Raikhsharjis has begun a massive campaign in conjunction with the Hauhkunoleiksflutt to expel the Plattlander rebels and conquer Plattland itself. Initial reports have shown that the gods are truly with the Hauhkuno, as his forces have yet to be stopped in their advance to the northern border. Currently, much speculation abounds as to what the ultimate fate of the rebels will be once the war is over. In the southern Landin, amnesties have been offered to any rebels that come forth and swear oaths of loyalty to the Hauhkuno and their rightful rulers once more, with a minimum service requirement of five months in the military being given to those that took up arms or were previously engage in the service of their Landsharjis or the Raikhsharjis. This has worked to calm much of the resistance in certain districts, with hopes currently being high with regards to whether the offer might restore peace. In overseas news, the Frijbuitonds Mikkels has declared that any man willing to plunder the ships of the Gankands is to be given land and a wife of his choice, along with a share of his fortune. This has been seemingly motivated by a recent uptick in the amount of piracy currently going on in the southern seas and a general manpower shortage being experienced by the Frijbuitonden. In response to this offer, the Hauhkunoleiksflutt has announced that any sailor found missing from his station is to be drawn and quartered should it be found out that they had deserted to join up as a raider. In the east, negotiations have begun for a formal cease-fire and armistice between the Estiggs Bund and the Raikhsleidandskapiz, with the goal of avoiding unnecessary bloodshed in mind. Despite no large scale fighting having taken place as of yet, the Estiggs Bund has put forth the suggestion of a hostage exchange in order to avoid any strife arising before the negotiations have been concluded. Hairas en Frauja-Haarskalks Haimfaths Robertsunus is currently in closed chambers and council with the Raikhsgamotjing as to whether or not to accept the suggestion, with no word as of yet as to their current disposition. Finally, designers in the Hauhkunoleiksflutt have announced and showcased a new warship design, currently referred to simply as 'die Untauglichen'. This behemoth of a ship would be easily the most advanced and weighty warship ever built, with a projected displacement of 36,293 tonnes (72,975). It is unorthodox in its design, given that unlike with other more conservative warships, it is to have seven eighteen inch guns to the fore and twenty six inch guns to the aft, with some twenty-four four inch guns placed elsewhere. Concerns about the feasibility and sensibility of building the ship have been raised, as initial estimates for the construction cost have been floated, but the Hauhkunoleiksflutt have stated that they believe it to be a possible design that they might adopt in future. This has been the Hundisch language news service.
We designed a stupidly expensive and impractical ship. I love it.

Following the fall of Thurgau-bei-Überwald, the Jergtrau rebels in Plattland have surrendered. A new provisional Landsleidandskapiz has been set up in the city, with those that collaborated with the rebel government being taken as prisoners and slaves. Low level fighting continues in the interior and in the swamps, but for the majority of the Jergtrau forces have laid down their arms and surrendered.
Elsewhere, the Landin of the Estiggs Bund have sent representatives to the Raikhsgamotjing and have begun releasing their Harjisin from service. This has been matched by Raikhsharjis, who have begun moving troops away from their borders and releasing men from service as well. Travel has yet to be allowed to resume between the Estiggs Bund and the greater Raikh, but reports strongly suggest that trade might be allowed to begin again in a limited fashion.
In the new Land of Hweituzdas, reports have come in of low level disturbances between the local tribes and the new settlers. Bands of veterans and settlers have taken to raiding villages and towns for wives after having found the local tribes too hostile to negotiate with. Local law enforcement and military forces have been readied in case of any serious outbreaks of violence, but currently the Landsleidandskapiz based out of Naashlaw is reporting no such events having taken place. Instead, they have sent requests to several Lahgarden for Lahwitä and clerks to be dispatched in order to handle the sudden upsurge in marriage registrations and court-filings.
In the meantime, thousands of slaves from the Gankands and former rebel territories have been brought to Blairhaim to take part in the Triumph of the Hauhkuno, with many more being sent to other cities to fight and take part in festival games and activities in honour the victories won by the Hauhkuno and his Haarskalken. Fifteen days of games have been announced, with public holidays for all being given. For the duration, no man or slave may work except for those given special dispensation. Debt collection and interest has similarly been suspended, with all debts below a hundred Thaler being officially forgiven and taken on by the Swersgesat.
Finally, Hairas Haimfaths Robertsunus has officially stepped down as regent for Hauhkuno Vauhoks Abasunus, having reaffirmed his fealty to his rightful liege. It is not known what he plans to do now, but he was recorded as saying that should the need arise again, he would happily return to serve his cousin as he has done. He has since been seen playing Backgammon and Kom-Kom in parks near to the Sluut. According to bystanders, he has thus far won some thirty-five Pfennige off of challengers and is open to playing anyone and everyone.

Following the successful conquest of Hweituzdas, the integration of this new territory into the Raikh has been progressing at a good speed. Large numbers of settlers have been arriving there from the rest of the Raikh, with many finding wide open tracts of land and plenty of opportunity there. One major aspect of this has been the rehabilitation of the local religious practises, as many believe that their 'emperor' was of a divine nature. Following the shock of their defeat in the war, it has been reported that many have turned away from their faith and have been left adrift. Thankfully, this trend has been starting to reverse as many have started to worship the Hauhkuno and point to his successful vanquishing of the false-emperor of proof of his divinity.
Furthermore, tensions in Hweituzdas have begun to dissipate after a series of clashes between local settlers and the vanquished peasantry resulted in the local populations being utterly crushed. With faith in the false-emperor being replaced with faith in the Hauhkuno, initial hostilities to the new settlers have started to disappear and relations are expected to normalise as time goes on. Already, many mixed marriages have been seen and are likely to continue forming for the foreseeable future. Finally, outlanders from realm of Rodina have started arriving and offering their services in enforcing the new order. They have been seen helping build new shrines, temples, and hospitals on behalf of the new Landsleidandskapiz.
Further afield, many Frijbuitonden have begun flocking the Imperium Divinium to sell weapons, uniforms, wood stuffs, ammunition, and more to the opposing sides in the brewing civil war there. Quite a few men have formed into companies of sell-swords, ready to fight in the armies of the local nobility for a price. So far, they have encountered little to no opposition in their adventures over there, with many of them finding the locals quite welcoming of their unique talents and skills. A small fee is currently being levied by the Landsleidanskapiz for all exports to the Imperium Divinium, as well as on the wages earned by those turning mercenary. This fee has been justified as paying for their widows and pensions, though some argue that the fee ought to be gotten rid of.
Finally, Raikhsharjis has begun carrying out drills and exercises in preparation for possible future conflicts. While the civil war in the Raikh has come to an end, minor rebel activity is still being seen in some districts and the Raikhsharjis has sworn to remain on guard until every village and every acre of forest is clear of the rebel threat once and for all. Concerns have also been raised lately about the bellicose and aggressive rhetoric coming out of Mythral, a nation far to the north and by all rights a frozen wasteland. It appears that they might be considering an invasion of another nation to their south, which could threaten the interests of the Hauhkuno and the Raikh and disrupt trade.

Much revelry was seen yesterday, as the year 7694 became 7695; many households attended parties and greeted their neighbours, with many more also attending temple services. The Hauhkuno himself conducted a ceremony, with the intent of asking the gods for peace in the Raikh and to allow us many more enemies abroad to fight. By the grace of the Hauhkuno, it has been decreed that from the Seventh of Hauhkunomenoths to the Fifteenth, there is to be an extension on tax collection so as to accommodate those whose lives have been disrupted by the civil war and who are still unable to assess their obligations.
In other news, the realm of Neo-Valencia has concluded what now is a thirty year long war within its borders and has begun making attempts at diplomatic contact with the outside world. It is unknown what the current political situation is within their borders nor how the Raikhsleidandskapiz and Swersgesat are going to respond to them, but a small current of optimism has been found to exist within the mercantile classes, as new trade prospects appear to be just over the horizon to some.
Finally, cloth prices are expected to fall soon due to new import from Hweituzdas. Similarly, fruits, spices, and many tropical luxuries are now dropping price thanks to the new Land's addition to the Raikh. This news has been met positively by many, though several prominent merchants and guilds have begun protesting these new imports and requesting new tariffs be raised to protect local production and industry. So far, these requests have fell upon deaf ears with many being dismissed already by the various Leidandskapizin. That said, the prices of other commodities are not expected to return to their pre-war levels for a while yet, as work on restoring destroy infrastructure is steady but slowly progressing. Undetonated ordinance has proved an issue in a few districts in particular.

Following a long series of negotiations, the Treaty of Morthal has now been ratified by the Raikhsgamotjing and is expected to come into effect immediately. All new warships are to be made to fit the treaty's restrictions going forward. It is expected that the other signatories will also be ratifying the treaty in their respective countries in short order too.
In civilian news, a new government project has been agreed to in cooperation with the City of Sheen. According to the reports, the world's first ever twenty-four knot ocean liner is to be constructed with funding from both governments and a new jointly owned passenger line formed. The Honourable Imperial Passenger Line is planning to offer monthly services from Morthal to Sheen and back again with their first ever ocean liner, the Great Tit, in two years time.
Rumours are also circulating about a possible trade mission to the Land of Ymir in order to try and normalise relations with the Danes. Several new ice import companies have recently been registered, but no official government plans have been announced yet. This is especially relevant to the people of Hweituzdas, as the climate has made ice importation the only viable means of acquiring the cooling substance. The speculation being caused by these rumours has led to a mild drop in the price of ice, but most experts are warning that ice prices are unlikely to remain so low and that supply is unlikely to actually increase given historical issues between us and the Danes.

A month after the Raikhsharjis ended its five year occupation of Plattland, the Land is now fully embroiled in a state of civil war. Many of the constituent regions have broken free from the Landsleidandskapiz and have begun operating independently, though none of declared themselves to be in a state of open revolt against the Raikh. As of this time, Plattland's representatives in the Raikhsgamotjing are no longer accepted as being legitimate as they can no longer claim to represent the government of their Land, as there is none.
Similarly, since the Raikhsharjis removed itself from Rukonen & Konn, the Land has also fractured into its constituent parts, with many towns, villages, and minor nobles acting independently now. The locals Landsharjis has been absorbed into the Raikhsharjis, with all their caches and equipment being seized, until such a time as clear government can be established. For now though, they too have had their representatives in the Raikhsgamotjing ejected. Assurances have been given by all the new states that they will naturally be upholding the Ottoling Code and paying all taxes demanded of them in accordance with the law.
In economic news, factory jobs continue to rise as new manufacturing plants open in Meinitzmark and other Landen, with foreign exports continuing to rise throughout the year. This coupled with the latest new trend of foreign pleasure cruises, has led to many to believe that now more than ever, the Hauhkunoleiksflutt is needed in order to ensure and safe-guard the well-being and safety of our industries and trade.
In foreign news, the Hauhkuno Vauhoks paid a visit recently to the Gamotjingsraikh af Sheen and signed a new non-aggression pact with said realm. As part of the visit, he also was greeted by the Urhauhqene Karrianne and Daigijon Selblom, though sadly, he did not meet with the Hairas Balgi to our knowledge. This historic treaty has been marked by the playing of a second friendly international Rugby game, in which the Hauhkuno scored a total of three tries and two goals.
