Today marks a first in Caudian history, the first secular university, inspired by those in foreign nations, has been founded. Taking over the building of a monastery abandoned in the war, Wright's Hill University, or in Caudian Wryhtabyrhis Andgiergeldau, serves to improve the knowledge of the Caudian people of things unrelated to matters of personal need or faith.
The grounds at Wryhtabyrhis have been split into three wards, the primary ward is called Aldenhusen and is devoted to the study of history that has no known chronicles, anthropology, archeology and palaeontology are common place but they also do some degree of chronicle work themselves, going out and writing the oral legends that have yet to be preserved in parchment, as well as this they also conduct surveys which are a form of early sociology. The next ward is called Hargerecen and is devoted to the study of the physical sciences such as chemistry and physics, with biology being more of a subject of the Aldenhusen ward, they also do not study medical chemistry, as that is a job done by medicants, a form of clergy. The final ward is the Gymined-Hadean which is devoted to the study of the non-physical sciences, such as psychology, linguistics, political science (although this is limited), law and pedagogy. However there is also a "fourth ward", although not officially recognised as such and part of the Gymined-Hadean officially, the Augon af Þer Steora focuses on Astronomy and is situated within the Aldenhusen, as they are the only part of the university with an observatory, originally used for tracking the seasons.
While the university has been in some monitored operation for a few months now, it has not been officially opened to the public and is home to only a few older and more renowned scholars, however now that the war is over and the university has a more stable environment and a populace less likely to be drafted it is finally being officially opened, for this momentous occasion there will be a week long period where foreign dignitaries and scholars may arrive and walk around the premises of the university and talk to its members and their studies, on the final day of this period the Pontiff herself is going to open the building for the new students after giving a speech outside the front door.
