Catherine, pallid and sick, sat once again in front of the Imperial Diet, at invitation from the House of Serfs. For several hours they had debated about her current ability to rule, eventually concluding that if she could sit through their debate, she was well enough to continue her reign unfettered.
It sickened her further however to hear them continue to argue in circles about this blasted foreign war. Questions of Magdali treachery, Tholish intentions, and a general distaste for the people of Sadalen had been argued at length, as usual going nowhere. She had practically fallen asleep when a vote was cast, and sat perplexed staring at the paper in front of her. She raised an eyebrow, hoping for an explanation, finding only blank stares in return.
Sighing, she acquiesced. “Very well Magisters. If events happen as you fear, I will honor your vote. I pray for the sake of my country and your children, that it does not come to pass.”
