Nation: The Angelus Theocracy
The Angelus Theocracy is a scientifically advanced and insular civilization (as opposed to a singular nation) that has come to dominate the southwestern portion of the lesser continent that is now known as “Armona” by the Magdalena.
Flag: The Icana
As is common knowledge in most circles, flags carry a surfeit of symbolism. In the case of the Icana, the cross with the triangle symbolizes Jesus and the trinity, while the golden rings are the three halos, which each represent one of the three primary classes of angels. The Crimson background is an ocean of blood, symbolizing humanity, the brutal journey that culminated in their nation’s founding, and the bloody debt that all must pay one day, less it was already paid by Jesus.
Language(s):
Official Religion: Christianity (Angelarian Orthodox)
The Angelus Theocracy is founded on a divergent denomination of christianity, and while they tolerate those of other faiths (their christian peers mildly more than others) holding residence in their domain, they take blasphemy very seriously, to the point of having a tripartite inquisition. Furthermore, those of other faiths cannot rise to positions of power in the Court of Lords or the Church, and only rarely in The Body. Likewise, previous experiences with pagan worshippers have instilled a distrust in other religions, ESPECIALLY those that attempt to ingratiate themselves with the faith.
For a detailed breakdown on Angelarian Orthodoxy, See Here:
Population:
As of the last census- taken with the coronation of the latest Priest King- the population came to roughly 55,082,000 persons. Further details of the census have not been released to other nations at this time.
That being said, the previous census is ALSO not being shared with envoys at all.
GDP:
No statistics as to theTheocracy’s GDP have been shared with envoys. That said, their currency has been confirmed to consist of Rings, Fetters, Feathers, and Angels, with rings being akin to small change and angels rarely being used save in massive transactions or in the form of currency reserves.

Government: Theocratic Feudal Confederation
The government of the Angelus Theocracy is composed of three separate groups, each managing their own duties to ensure the nation runs smoothly while also working to balance the power of the others. These three powers are: The Church, The Body, and The Lords, with the Church being the spiritual anchor as well as the highest authority in the land with the Priest King, the Body being a tiered elected council of civilians, and the lords being hereditary rulers of different geographical regions, much akin to the vassal realms of a king.

Current Ruler: The Priest King
The Current Priest King is Quentin Yael, currently 32. He was anointed by lightning at the age of 15 and coronated at 20, upon the death of his mentor and previous priest king, Gianni Sartorius to a Dagon cult assassin.
Quentin Yael was born to one of the noble lords, but submitted himself to the church when he was young, seeking to follow a godly path and remove himself from any potential issues in his family’s line of succession.
King Yael is currently a bachelor.
Military:
The military of the Angelus Theocracy does not possess a federal military of note, aside from a collection of smaller elite forces. Instead, the vast bulk of the military is bankrolled by the lords, and considered on-call should the Priest King rally the nation for war. Naturally, the individual lords make something of a competition to have the best militaries available to them, but often these forces are somewhat limited if only due to economic constraints. Typically, the lack of a unified military would logically leave the nation vulnerable to outside aggression, but a cultural heritage of self defense and unity in the face of external and/or heretical foes has bred a militancy into the entire populace of the nation, who are fully capable of acting as a citizen militia comparable to a full military in their own right.
Despite this, the full listed military of the Theocracy is only 3 million men at arms, and much of it is dedicated to crewing their burgeoning aeronautical fleet.

History:
To describe the history of the Theocracy in it’s 700 years of sovereignty is to describe a nation seeming to exist in cycles of exceptional strife, zealous isolation, and open prosperity and philanthropy. From their initial origin as a divergent sect of the Imperium Divinium’s Catholicism, to their pilgrimage across the ocean, their landing and founding on the shores of Armona, the cycle stays true. As such, an abbreviated timeline can be found below while more detailed breakdowns of the events in each era can be selected from there.

- High (or pure) Latin, practiced primarily by the clergy and priest kings. (~16%)
- Danterian (a trade language derived from latin and druidic that has made a habit of mugging other languages for their vocabulary), (~70%)
- A smattering of legacy native dialects from the assimilated native Armonian tribes. (10-15%)

- The Pilgrimage, which technically predates the theocracy. It begins with the origin of Angelarian Orthodoxy and continues for a solid decade, including the departure from the Imperium Divinium and their decades-long journey across the islands of what would become modern Moderal until they crossed the boiling sea and made landfall upon their ultimate destination.
- The Founding, which starts with the landfall of the pilgrims upon Armona and continues for about 15 years until the local pagan kingdoms chose to declare war on the nascent theocracy. In this time, several native tribes formed alliances with the Theocracy and began to convert to Angelarian Orthodoxy
- The Age of Brigands followed the Founding, and it was the first and most formative series of military conflicts the fledgling nation would face. The pagan kingdoms were slave traders, and they saw these foreigners as both a viable source of slaves and as a threat to be quashed before they could accrue to much power. This led to the Theocracy being forced to militarize wholesale to defend against raids from a dramatically superior foe, who took civilians captive for slavery or sacrifice. It would be 40 years before the Theocracy would come to triumph, and the ordeal would leave a thread of vehement self-defense in their culture from that day forth.

- The Occult Wars were the most recent major conflict the theocracy has faced, and it was a heinous internal conflict that ultimately arose due to theological subversion and schisms by cults that took to worshipping pagan and fallen entities as if they were loyal angels of god. This period stretched as long as 80 years and 3 different priest kings, including one which was successfully assassinated by cultists. Terrorists attacks and the widespread use of heinous weapons such as poisonous gas and disease were utilized, and it would not be until the formation of the threefold inquisition and the infamous "Scouring of Puragtory" that the cultists would finally be either annihilated or driven from Theocracy territory.
