The Fifth day of The New Year.
After a long 5 days of work for the workers of the Scris family, and suprisingly some of the members of the Scris family as well. 5/7/4/390 After a long 5 days of work for the workers of the Scris family, and suprisingly some of the members of the Scris family as well. The results of the Sadalers in withdrawing the food supplied by the DOC reached the researchers. The descision was made to compare localy produced meat and grain to meat and grain produced in the DOC and Sadalen. With research being undertaken in Moderal, meat from Sadalen, the DOC, and internal production has been tested and found to be similarly adulterated in all nations. When grain was tested, most of the samples were found to contain high adulteration levels of Alum, chalk, and sawdust. Of note however, were several samples of grain from the DOC, found to contain astounding levels of Bromine.

After a few days of testing. The discovery of Bromine sent shock waves of relief throughout the researchers. They had a solution, quickly telegrams were written to the Hrana family and all grain trade from ID was ceased, mesages were sent to New Respite for more grain.

With news of the culprit for this mystery disease being bromine levels, orders were made in more rural regions of the association to research the effects of bromine further to decide what levels are safe to have in food.

Once it was revealed the source of the illness was tainted food, a wave of outrage swept through Dunwik. The scientists kicked each other for immediately assuming a transmissive vector, the politicians bickered over who to blame, and the shipping magnates swiftly started making themselves scarce as the heavily armed, heavily traumatized populace turned the attention of their rampage from those "infected" towards those "responsible". The government of Dunwik was conspicuously absent in the lines of people trying to stop the riots - and indeed many rumors held that the furious Grand Chairman was intentionally stoking hatred against his competitors to burn them all to ashes. Weeks later, once normalcy had roughly gripped the nation once more, it was made law surprisingly swiftly that all food imported to Dunwik must be inspected for signs of contamination, and that the stockpile of preserved goods the government had been sitting on in the event of riots would also undergo that same scrutiny. With peace restored, the streets repaired, and tens of thousands dead, Dunwik slowly brushed itself off and continued, almost as if nothing had happened.
The only ones who continued to note were those particularly furious at the DOC, and fascinated chemical weapons specialists wondering if they could potentially use this for their own ends.

Due to rising suspicions of contamination from the Divinian controlled Gankands, survey teams were dispatched to various parts of Hweituzdas to test for bromine and to drill down into the ground water. With the imminent demobilisation of troops in Duom, there was an unspoken order not to escalate things until after the colonial garrisons were back up to full strength.
