The Sheen Merchants Guild Naval Company has opened a commission for a Submarine to be designed and built to meet the following specifications:
250 t surfaced, 300 t submerged.
12 knot top speed surfaced 8 knot top speed submerged 2 torpedo tubes that can actually be used comfortably at the same time. 1 4 inch gun Medium to Long range surfaced, very low submerged.

The Shipbuilders Guild have taken on the task to build the new submarine, who decide to create this new design by iterating on their current design, namely the Subnauticus. Experts believe that this is perhaps the best chance at meeting these ambitious targets from the Merchants Guild.

Issues arise with the design! Early mockups appear to have issues with both stability and with pumping enough water too and fro the tanks to allow the submarine to properly ascend and descend at either safe or fast rates, this has pushed the design back months and many estimates put the design as being 4 years away from trials.

The Subnauticus II has finally been built, and has exceeded the design requirements by a fair bit to deal with the stability. The current aims of the Guild are thus:
520 t surfaced, 650 t submerged. 15 knots surfaced 11 knots submerged 4 torpedo tubes (2 for, 2 aft) 1 4 inch gun Medium range surfaced, Short range submerged.

The First prototype is ready for preliminary testing, however the Boat is overweight and needed temporary additional air tanks strapped to it to continue testing. despite this setback testing continued however the Engine died very quickly and the first test of the Subnauticus II was chosen to be abandoned until the issues were fixed.

The Subnauticus II is ready for service. An Initial order for 25 boats has been sent in, with potentially a far larger order to follow. Sheenish Navy Admiral Limmy has been quoted saying "Today, there are now only two kinds of ship. Submarines and Targets."
