From the desk of Lord Walter, to the prestigious Imperium Divinium and Moderal.
"Greetings, my friends.
As we are all now aware, Port Audrina has been established, and the interests of Aylscor have realized that a continental railway between Aylscor, the Imperium Divinium, and Moderal shows possibility for profit and progress. Currently, ships are faster than trains, but I am of the mindset that if this railway is built, the technology for trains will get faster and stronger, which can reduce time needed to trade between members of the DOC as well as to get cargo to ports faster, thus also reducing trade time between the DOC and other countries. As such, I invite you to Port Audrina to discuss the technical details of this proposal.
Respectfully,
Lord Walter Eylborn"

I agree, with the distance our ships currently have to travel, a more direct route may be profitable.

Catherine rubbed her sore eyes, poking at the dark circles that had begun to form underneath them. Between this business with the Hansa, the intervention in the East, and all her traveling sleep continued to elude her. When her secretary came in, letter in hand, the young Empress had to stifle a groan. Reading the letter, her furrowed brow relaxed slightly. Decent news for once. She sat to scribble out a reply, handing it off to be dispatched:
Salve, I find the prospect of easier transit of goods along a continental rail line to be a more than suitable proposal. Along with the ability to transport goods with expedience, it will also enable us to ensure safe transit without fear of piracy, and may prove useful should we be allowed to use it for military transit, though Aera forbid the latter.
The Divinian Government would be wiling to help fund the development of such an endeavor, though the cost may be steep for our governments alone to subsidize, even with to issue of bonds to private citizens. As we are all members of the DOC, I think it fair to allow investment in the line by the company to expedite the process. I assume the intended track would run from Moderal, through Divinium proper, and then South-West? If this endeavor proves fruitful, perhaps we could eventually connect the Divinian Gankands as well. This would not only offer security of the transit of goods, but a potential means of transport of people by rail. I look forward to developing this idea further.
Yours in prosperity, HEMS Catherine von Marcum
